For the short attention span: Forward to 3:50 for sound samples...
In this video I compare the Synco Mic D1 against the Audio Technica AT8035.
Synopsis: I find these 2 mics to be very similar in function and response, despite the large cost difference. The Synco is smaller, heavier and has a higher low-cut filter.
Equipment used to record this video:

Audio Technica has really solid performers in that mid price realm. The last time i remember being disappointed by AT was a $45 on camera condenser mic...but for the most part over decades AT seems to be very consistent and reliable.

Specs might be similar but my ears say the AT is for me. The synco sounds clinical to me…

Hey, thanks for the vid! nice review. I´m hearing some noise in the synco, is that correct? thanks!

On paper, the Synco touts a 78db signal to noise...which is considered very good, and is better than the AT at 72...given that i was unable to find a frequency response graph, I am left assuming the perceptible noise on the Synco may be the result of a presence boost and/or less background noise rejection, and the noise is being picked up from my PC. I have been very impressed with the Synco at the price I picked it up for. That is the mic i have kept on my remote rig and it has worked very well. I was not expecting it to be as close to the AT going into this shootout though, so I may need to dig a little deeper in a follow up.
