Appreciate the video, I like how you kept it simple. Showed the box and shot, then shot it on a plain surface where we could get a good idea of what it looks like and how it fairs next to the others. Exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
No clue if this would work (legally), but I once asked a friend who owns a rental property how he would deal with his renter not paying the rent and refusing to leave, because of squatter protection laws. Lol with full confidence he says that it’s his property and it’s his right to take his doors. That would be a funny battle to watch, they come home to no front or back door lol. Something tells me there’s a hole in his theory ha
The #8 bird did pretty well, didn't it? At that range, especially in a short-distance home situation, where avoiding collateral damage is critical...what else does one need? Especially with follow-up shots, as needed?
Great video thanks for posting it.... I have a 12 gauge and birdshot will be just perfect for me for home self defense... After watching what the bird shot did to a metal door... I'm not worried in the least what it will do to an intruder coming into my house, all I know is it's going to be stopping somebody
I install doors for a living and have shot at the old doors with a large variety of handguns... long story, made short: doors are not safe to hide behind if you are being shot at.
Movies often downplay the power of bullets to only being able to shred organic tissue and virtually everything else is impervious to them... Like no, biological matter like skin and bones are way stronger than literally everyone thinks, bullets absolutely will obliterate metal that they hit
You now I use to work with those steel doors .Great idea .Really shows off the difference in how the different kind of shot reaches with the metal.Im going to my brother in laws and try it on the door I gave him.
I recently read and watched No Country for Old Men. In particular in the film adaptation, Moss shoots at Chigurh using a 12 gauge shotgun with 00 buckshot through a hotel room door. The distance can't be more than 10 feet. How Moss doesn't just totally blow him away makes no sense.
I got my kel tek KSG loaded with 24 rounds of the Agelia mini buck shot 7 pellet. I wouldn't even have to open the door I could use walkthrough the massave hole after that.
Thanks Comborico, I had a blast shooting up our old metal front door! (And how often does a person get to do that?!!) Check out my latest video after over 100 rounds of birdshot meets my door.
I have always been a fan of #4 birdshot . I have used a model 12 .16 gauge since 1963 and found #4 birdshot to be the go to round. Except for deer of coarse, then it is slugs. As a Teenager I often went with visiting hunters to make sure they didn't shoot any livestock on our farm and when birds went up I would aim and wait for the hunters to shoot first and when they missed and gave up I would then shoot and still take out the pheasant.
Is this one of those metal doors with the foam inside of it? Cause It didint look like it had and wood inside if it, I wonder how much stronger would a solid oak wood door with metal covering it would be
You stand about three feet away from the door and that bird shot will blow a hole right thru it Hang the door back on your house and when people come by and ask, What happen?? Say, Yeah them police are always causing problems with me but I took care of em LMAO
yuck yuck yuck.....gollee andy ! surprize surprize,....we have the same ignorant gunners at a range near us....20,000 rounds a day are common... We sued and won...they're gone..it's quiet again. nice. I get flipped off a lot and I just laugh and laugh...they seem so....so....flaccid.
Why would you shoot a working man/women on purpose? Especially one trying to uphold general law? The only people that dislike military/police are lawbreakers(in most cases). When we lose this protection this country will go down instantly. It's not always about weapons. The government protects our finances, health, and future as well. Please save your ignorant comments for a smaller crowd.
Micahmania TY for Replying, Looking for a shot gun for the home, Not to expensive. And what would be the best type of shells to use for home defense, TY Again
@@jcsgaragejohnc.5027 I think if you are considering a shotgun for home defense, I would get a pump shotgun. Just that sound of a pump shot gun loading alone can be quite intimidating and may detour a home intruder. I personally would use birdshot, you are less likely to miss and it would mess them up very bad.
I have my Rockisland VR60 with a 20 round drum mag full of #3 shot. I think that should be good enough for any two legged threat, if that don't do it I have a KEL- TEC KSG with 8 00 buck in one tube and one in the pipe and 7 slugs in the other tube, and if that don't work I have a Saiga 12 with a 20 round drum mag full of #3 shot, and if that don't work I'll pull out the Glock 19x with a 50 round drum and 2 19 round and 1 17 round mags full of Federal HST 147 +p, if that don't work I'll grab the Glock 29 gen4 10mm with 8 15 round mags full of 180 gr.V-crown, if that don't work I'll get my 556 and a mountain of loaded 30-40 round mags...Ok I'll stop hear, this could go on for an hour or two. I could fill someone so full of lead it would take a crain to lift them out of my house if all the bullets stayed in them..😂😂
Mike Smith Summer time is beautiful here in Washington usually upper 70s to 80s. Some days we do get into the 90s. Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year! We do have to deal with quite a lot of rain the rest of the year😏
They say most criminals aren't very smart, but a burglar with brains is going to wear heavy clothing or even body armor while doing his "work". In that case bird might not be the best option...you always want to consider that the creep you're shooting at is/may be also armed and you need to stop them cold. The old saying "You can't miss with a shotgun" is bullshit...you need to aim. Slugs are good for blasting thru a fence, a door or a vehicle but there's a hell of a kick...00 is the most "recommended" round but if you want to get the same results with a bit less kick look for #4 buckshot (not bird)...if the first shot doesn't take 'em out, advance and fire on the target repeatedly. If you want to really seal the deal make the last round a slug at close range. That's how my home defense shotgun is loaded. Sounds gnarly but if a stranger is in your house you MUST assume they will hurt/kill you if necessary. Like a bear coming into your cave.
Thanks for the demo, really informative. But I don't understand why you shot up the tree. Unless it was dead before you started, you really sped up its demise.
Micahman.. The new replacement front door doesn't fit, you need to bring the old door back until they can get the new one remeasured to fit the front door.
@Chris billing either is overkill unless you live alone out in the country, no one for at least 500 yards. Here in a townhouse, I’d have to worry about it hitting someone next door, or the one after.
I would have liked to see what # 4 and #2 shot would do in 3 inch magnums. I used them many years ago duck hunting and boy can they reach out there. Nice job though
This video, basically disproves the myth, that #8 birdshot isn't lethal. If it does that kind of damage to a steel door, it will be lethal to a human. It looks like he was about 20 feet away.
