He was one of the best in the world last season, I think selling him after a poor season (everyone had a poor season apart from a few) would be harsh and reactionary. Maybe he just needs serious competition, he hasn’t had any since Bravo left. He seems very comfortable… too comfortable

The question we need to ask ourselves is who is a better goalkeeper available in the market better than Ter Stegan. Let’s keep him and strengthen defence and CDM

The problem with Ter Stegen is that; where do you find a keeper that’s at his level let alone better?

This is where we lack. We are too much attached emotionally. Just one year after the 3 peat. Madrid replaced their goalkeeper of the three-peat because they knew he is getting old, and we are not willing to let go of ter stegen(who has been on goal for all of our biggest defeats in our history), and roberto(for god knows what reason). He was one of the best player in the previous year and current year. This year his ball distribution was excellent in many of the matches. There are not so many goal keepers in the world who can do that right know. We need to focus on the weak areas especially cdm,lw and cf positions. Im not really conveninced with Lewandowski. We need a proper backup other than ferran if xavi dont want victor in the playing XI

We have no plan for a rebuild, that much is clear. RW, RB, LB, CDM none of these positions have been covered by good decision making. The only reason we have a decent squad is La Masia, the board need to sort out their priorities asap.

Selling ter Stegen would be big mistake for Barca. But look at alison bekar performance against us (4-0) loss. Look at Thiabaut Coutois, single handley won the final for Madrid against liverpool. Ter stegan is a world class goal keeper but the problem, he is always be remembered for the barca losses, Sadly.

Defensive irresponsibility has caused Ter Stegan to have most of his faults this season. However, some of his clearances have been very poor as well. He really needs to step that aspect of his game up. With that being said, it is definitely NOT a good idea to sell him. He still has the ability for spectacular saves. If Barça were to shop him around in an effort to sell him, I would accuse them of trying to sink the Club!

As for me he is still the best. He is a human after all. Selling him this season will not carry because of the record that Barca has at the moment.

Our season was avg. We had a late run of form which was spoiled by Araujo in the PSG game along with Cancelo in both the PSG and Madrid games.

Are we losing our minds?! ter Stegen is one of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world right now. The reason our season was such an unfortunate disaster is because he got injured in an important stage of the season. Even if we had to sell him for 100 million (which wont happen) who would we replace him with? Pena has heart but the difference was very clear when he played instead of ter Stegen

Depends on how much the offer is. The money that we would get from the deal would help us with the one for one financial Fairplay rule in La Liga, but it would not allow us to go out and get another good keeper and so it seems more like it would be a bigger headache on the club then it would be to help.

Perhaps one quality that I could credit him for is, his footwork with the ball. No one can take that from him. However, what we really need is a stopper

There are not many better GK than him out there. Having said that, Barcelona SHOULD have scouted list of players for each position in case any player leaves. Listen to the offers for ter stegen, if they get a really good offer using which they can easily get some quality GK that they have shortlisted, and set some profit aside then he should be sold. Problem is, I don't really believe that Barcelona board would have any quality GK scouted for MATS replacement. Therefore, he should not be sold. Planning is the key here which is non-existent at Barcelona right now.

problem w Barca is we think not many ppl have so called Barca dna. So when good offers arrive for our players we don’t accept n when frm next season as they’re under massive contract they become complacent n lead us into more humiliations. Eventually then we offload them for nothing at all n r left with no transition plan at all.

The only keepers that are better than Ter Stegen are 30+ as well. Unless we are getting Mike Maignan who is like 28, its absolutely idiotic to get a new starting GK. I say invest in a good young backup and sell Pena.

He is still the best goal keeper with foot and 1 vs 1 situation for me. Ability to start possession and give the right pass to break opposition press. The fact that he is in all of the great losses does not mean he is the problem. Any goal keeper could have been. Also considering how less we concede when he is in goal. That was evident when he went on injury during the season. He is just a smart and intelligent guy. I will keep him. If he sees the right defenders in front of him, he could keep a clean shift for half of the season.

Without watching the video, I could say that Ter Stegen definitely has a price but what that is I’m not sure. Let’s see how big this summer really becomes. A new fresh of breath air could take this team to the next level, VISÇA BARÇA

How many times have teams gotten the better of our defense and hes saved us? He's elite Barcelona would need to find a great reaction based goalkeeper with that said it's our defense he can only do so much. He's very good in one on one and that's what we deal with way too often

at this point we need a shot stopping GK, Ter Stegen does make some incredible saves but also we concede where he does not attempt to dive, Stuani last goal for example. Bravo was not the best with his feet but he could stop a shot for sure. We probably shouldn't offload him yet but he needs competition, we should be looking for his replacement if we are serious

I know Ter Stegen hasnt been at his best this season but before we sell him we need to look at who is going to arrive to replace him. That's a main question. But on the other hand we have seen him in Big UCL nights where he doesnt step up. He is good enough for us if we wanna win the league and all. But at UCL nights he needs to prove his worth. He definitely needs to show his expierience, leadership etc. So to conclude if there is irrefusable offer like 100M+ then i would easily sell him and try to sign someone decent enough to replace him but if the offer is low, then keep him, improve our defence and hope our defense can step up on big nights.

In Barca, as Goal keeper saving goals not the only duty but also very good with the ball on the foot. It will be very hard to find that combination in this financial situation

Time to move on. He's one of our higher earners and can free up alot in terms of wages. If we can get 50-60mln for him, then great. Bring in Emi Martinez afterwards.

I am a fan of MAT but lets be honest, it would be a breath of needed fresh air for our squad. If we don't do it soon - I bet he will go for free or it will end ugly.

When Ter Stegen was coming up, we had Victor Valdes as our main GK. There was a constant competition between them and that's how Ter Stegen became better. We had to choose between them, who'd be our main GK, and our board chose Ter Stegen as he was young and hungry. We don't have anyone who'd give Ter Stegen competition. Pena has been horrible. We need to look for a new second GK to give Ter Stegen competition.

We need to make two big sales this summer - De Jong, Araujo/Kounde (personally prefer if we keep Kounde) and Raphinha. If we manage to get a good GK then yes, sell Ter Stegen too. But De Jong and Raphinha needs to go for big money.

Ter Stegan is Barca's most reliable player. We had a very bad string of results when he was injured earlier this season.

best goalkeeper in our history,(yes even better than victor remember he had prime pique and puyol) arguably the best goolkeeper in the world has saved us in multiple occasions, leader in the dressing room, tha captain of the team, never complains and moore importantly he has a winner mentality i see no reason for us not being happy with him and selling him plus right now he is fighting to get te n1 position with his country so going to saudi would be a very dumb move

This is not a Fifa career mode rebuild challenge, you can't just sell every important player and rebuild the squad, and this an absolute MESS cause all of our quality players get linked with an exit, this situation most likely won't end well, and I'm broken about it💔

Barcelona needs a solid backup keeper and someone who can give MATS some competition - why not got for Karius who has proven himself to be a great keeper in Newcastle and always delivers in big games?

i like to have michel di gregorio he's an amazing shots stopper but he's close to JUVE ( best gk in serie A with most clean sheet + saves - his team AC Monza is 11th )

Yeah there is not a goal keeper in the world that would have prevented all of the embarrassing defeats that we have had. He has his faults at times, but the amount of times he has saved us is crazy. We literally saw the difference this season. Also the biggest question is who can you get to replace him? Probably best to sign a new young keeper that can challenge and learn from him, then let him go

I understand why there are some doubters and why some people would want a change, but the problem I see is there aren't many goalies who can do what he does. Iñaki Peña had his chance but he's not up to standards. None of the goalkeepers from La Masia is the talk of the town righ now. I don't know if there's a better goalkeeper for Barça at the moment than Ter Stegen right no. At least nobody comes to mind that we could realistically afford to sign. It's something to start looking into for the future because Peña is definitely not good enough for Barça.

If we had a backup keeper like Lupin, we should cash in Stegen. But we need him unless someone offers crazy money

The only scenario where we sell him is if we have a concrete replacement in mind that we can sign. Otherwise we should look to sign a succeesor in a year or two. I don't think we should necessarily replace him but we should get a quality back up. Not only if Ter Stegen has to miss a match that we still have a quality goalkeeper but also to put some pressure on Ter Stegen because while he is great, sometimes he does look like he's not really putting all effort in because he knows there's nobody behind him of equal quality

We should be talking about finding a better no. 2 GK. I am not comfortable with Inaki Pena. If you compare Inaki Pena to Andrey Lunin at Madrid or Kelleher at liverpoool you will see the type of level we need from a backup goalie. (also Petrovic at Chelsea)

We need a revolution this summer but Ter Stegen should stay ! But I"m not optimistic about our transfers considering the last 3-4 years. We cannot sign elite world class players in their prime, that is for sure, only if we sell world class players which we dont really have.

Ter Stegen sure makes mistakes, some of them are pretty rookie sometimes, but is he actually an issue in our team? I dont think so. Also who's the alternative, TBH I cant name any GK rn that is jaw-dropping, even if there was, we cant pay him. So.....selling MATS isnt an option, the only option for GK position rn is to find some young promising GK and bring him in to develop and learn from MATS.

If it is true, get Mex Cruz Azul Goalie Kevin Mier hes a good colombian keeper who plays very well with his feet and he's 23 and he is a great goalie

I don't feel like anyone should be untouchable/unsellable. If there's a suitable replacement on the market that is attainable and better than what we currently have, then we could and should replace them. If there isn't, it's simple, keep the player. For Marc, it's definitely a keep for now. I'm all for developing players, especially the youngsters, but if a player isn't delivering after a season or two, then they should move on. The club can't be a babysitting club. You're either good or you're out.

The answer imo is simply no, because we are still limited financially and you don’t find a great goalkeeper everywhere so if he was to leave bring someone who’s at ter stegen level or better.

I am not even sure Barca can get an offer of 40million or + for him. So it will still be a financial lost trying to move him on because Barca have to start paying the first 5million of that deal in June and will have to still pay the entire 40million whether he is sold or he stays. Second thing is I wonder how will this decision affects Barca's future acquisition of young players. Third thing is Xavi wants to use Ferran and Marc Giuu as deputy center forwards for next season?

The only challenge we m8ght experience is finding a good replacement. But selling Terstegen should be one of the best options for FCB. He has not been as helpful as some may think. Comparatively , V2 was even better than MAT

That would be an absolute waste and an even dumber move then the Arthur/Pjanic shenanigan. Regardless of the sand pit money, you'll never gonna cash big for a goalie, even one as good as Ter Stegen. Plus imo he's really on top of his game currently and is already ranking up there with Victor Valdes according to Xavi himself. Excellent reflexes and a true footballing goalie, perfect fit for Barca's style. If he stays and maintains his level for several more years, which goalies tend to do, he could become Barca's all time best performing goalkeeper. I highly doubt Marc would allow himself to be convinced to make such a move

Honestly, bar Alisson, Ter Stegen is the best GK in the game. It is ridiculous 😒 to think of selling him. He's a leader, loyal, full of flair, fits Barca like a glove. But I would not be averse to letting Lewa go.

We must believe in and stick to Ter Stegen, ever since Suarez left, we had only two players doing their job, Messi and Ter Stegen, until the youngsters found their place. Even today, he's doing everything right, even after getting back from his injury, his performance has not dipped. I don't think we should even consider letting him go until one year is left on his contract, and then we can think of letting him go, he would be the main keeper till his second last season and if we have a keeper around by then, we can let Ter Stegen take the back seat playing only in Copa Del Reys and Spanish Super Cup and the other keeper would play La Liga and UCL, just like it used to happen with Claudio Bravo and Ter Stegen back in the day.
