you've never been around Jacks before have you? If you have it's a very limited amount . This noise is perfectly normal because Jax have a bunch of weight on them and they settle😂
@@ipickedsomething Sorry conversion error. Am not from America, and I just naturally assumed that anything sold here would sell for 50x more over there, hence the mark up. 😂
I do that sometimes, it doesn't matter because if the car falls the Jackstand will still stop it. Also some Jackstands don't go as high as the jacks. Also why would you need wheel chocks when the wheels are off the ground?
@@Zeriel00the stand is supposed to support the weight, not the jack. If they don't go high enough you need taller stands. The wheel chocks keep the wheels that are on the ground from rolling so the stands don't tip. If you have all four wheels off the ground you're fine. Also it does matter. Jacks stands are designed to support steady pressure, not a sudden impact. If the vehicle falls on the stand the sudden load can damage the stand and/or the vehicle.
@@Zeriel00 They call that a Shock Load and its not good and can cause the jack to fail and crumple and then you are now the load bearing item under the car.
While I understand the commenter's point about jacks settling, it's crucial to remember that jacks are designed for lifting, not for holding weight. Leaving a load on a jack for any extended period of time is extremely dangerous. It's important to use proper supports or lifting equipment to keep loads secure.
The way he just fuckin' stares at it lmao I'd do the same thing though like "Is today the day? Because I'm already down here and I'm not getting my happy ass back up until I'm done, you might as well crush me"
Everytime I work on my car I always check my old work, there’s a position that makes it really easy to check the trans bracket that broke b4. It’s just the if both stands break the oil pan I directly above my heard and my head would get crushed by the subframe. Should be okay if it falls idk if I’d live very long 😂
My thoughts are always "🤷♂️well, if we gonna do this, let's go....otherwise I got sh*t to do." 😂 life is about whatever happens along the way and how you respond to it. If I spend more time avoiding everything I will never experience or get anything done 🤷♂️.
Best jack stand in the world is a nice 16, 17" round cedar log about 14" tall. Surface area is big enough to catch on anything and tall enough to let you escape, Or at least live... and can be used in the dirt. Put a little bit of used motor oil or tranny fluid on it from time to time and it'll last for many many years. Also comes in handy to hold a brake claiper or tool or just have a seat and think about life and the bullshit happening with what your working on that should of been done 3 hours ago. 😂
@Jax2777, it's another reason it's best to give your jacks and other tools more attention beforehand. Like keeping fluids at the proper levels and using the right types of fluids, as well as checking the seals etc. It's best just to buy a new one rather than risk life and limb.
@mdbgamer556, yep, I'm not even the "Mechanic" but have had to do some work on my vehicles but I always have a solid jack stand in place holding the weight with the jack and often times a wheel is going to be off so it's going under the vehicle too. Better to damage/lose a $500 or $3,000 wheel than yourself....
Had a friend pass away this year like that. Please utilize the jackstand and dont work off the floor jack alone. (EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE ALL DONE IT A MILLION TIMES!! ITS THAT MILLION AND 1ST THAT WILL KILL YA!!) Be safe brother.😊
Invest in high quality jack stands, not the cheap ones from autozone or Walmart. I had a car roll over the jack stand and jack, it completely crushed the jack stand
@@everythingmichiganI had a friend who made his own jack stands many years ago and he used them nearly everyday in his garage. Today you can ones similar to his online. They are a simple tripod with a heavy duty piece of threaded steel going up through the center with a welded crank handle on one side. He had several sizes of those crazy things and would oftentimes use the short ones like you see the jack placed here. Poor guy passed away about 2 years ago.❤
Sorry to hear about your friend. I always use a jack stand… but, just in case I even think about jumping under a car “real quick” your post will cross my mind!!!
don't worry he had a jack stand there so the car wouldn't crush him just smack him on the shoulder hard enough that he won't be able to use that arm for about a month
Put your jack stands in place and lower the jack to them, then pump some pressure back on the jack not to lift back off the stands, but so you have at least more than one point of support when you are under a vehicle
yes, we have all used the jack to avoid getting the stand, but if you have it out, just use it.I actually have jackstand with jacks in them, you can put in on jackstands at all four corners and still raise it higher, at each corner without getting the jack back out
Lmao natural mechanic reflex 😂, but yeah scary as hell to hear that noise. This is coming from someone who isn't a mechanic, but I kinda know what is be doing still lol
@@lbjr777I've had a jackstand fail after inspecting it before I used it. The second I put weight on the stand it collapsed, luckily I wasn't under the car yet but it does happen.
@@lysergicpillamyd483The lesson here? Don't buy jack stands from Temu (a joke, but really...ive seen some alarmingly thin legs on cheap jack stands). 😅
I know one guy, he came into work early to work on his personal truck in the parking lot, he pulled the driveshaft out without chalking the wheels and the truck rolled on top of him and suffocated him to death. Guys came into work a little while later and it was another hour or so before someone found him
I never used to use jack stands until my jack dropped an inch once while I was under my car. Now I use jack stands, Jack's, wheel chocks, airlift cranes, tow trucks. Not worth it, ALWAYS use jack stands!
Same here. My driveway is gravel so I put steel plates under the stands and jack so they wont sink and the jack can move when jacking. So far my Vics haven’t crushed me yet.
Always use a jackstand, and if you have a easy to access full size spare, or if you have a wheel off to work on it, lay a wheel under itby where youll be. That way it can land on the wheel and hopefully not turn you into a human pancake
Constructive feedback: excellent thru and thru, topic, sounds, lighting, acting, scene length and cuts. Real opportunity for something much bigger. Thank you
I like to let the car down so the jack stand is taking half of the weight and the jack is holding the rest, it makes it much more stable and stops the jack from creaking like that
When that Jack creaks you got about 2 seconds son, I've had one come down on me f*** that I always use blocks of wood or the metal contraptions there to hold her up by the frame but that is funny as balls😅😅😅😅
Why your jack stands not supporting the weight of the vehicle? That's just dumb. Never let the jack support the weight. Especially if you're getting under the thing. Good luck.
@@Boostlee2023i disagree. Everyone was warned that this man was going to kill people in his sub. I do feel bad for the one Son who was harangued into going along with his stupid father who keot pressuring him to go. The owner operator of that sub was actually complaini g about the submersible industry was "criminally safe" cause there were no deaths in 30 something years. Listening to him talk for 10 min should have been enough for most people to realize he's suicidally careless, and had the arrogance of ten men
I've got the same exact daytona 😅 I trust the hell out of it though. I've lifted the whole front end of my Ram 3500. I just wish those rubber pads lasted longer, when mine got to the point yours is at I tossed it out.
😂🤣😂Its always in the back of your mind, always, it never leaves you.... even when you have safety jacks in place that really not in place at all when you look at it.... 😁
