Lmao that vid intro is perfect. I also love Zane countering with "explain that for me" and Anna giving it right back. That was literally like a fire fight, each person giving it back hard to the other
I've got a take for one reason why people tend to be embarrassed to admit they are a 3.5 in pickleball. Just a thought - It is possible to make it up to the 3.5 level without knowing much about pickleball strategy, court positioning, etc. if you can just be good at hitting the ball with speed and accuracy. Social media seems to magnify this fact by making fun of 3.5 players, essentially calling them stupid and frustrating to pair up with. Because of the social media stereotype, many people (especially those who put a lot of effort into their game) feel embarrassed to admit that they are in that skill group.
DUPR deflation is real. Competition is rising which means last year's 5.0 is now this year's 4.5 (if not lower). I watched my brother play a 3.5 tournament and they were having full true pickleball points with drops, dinks, and decent hands battles including dodging
Love the takes Anna! Also, local court here we have quite a few people that take public courts way longer than what is posted on the rules. It is sad to see one person drilling on 1 of 4 courts when there are way more than 12 people waiting to play. On DUPR it is a winning rating not a skill rating. Though they are related they are not always the same. Watching people play you can give them a SKILL rating that may be different than a WIN rating. WIN rating you have to see their data/results vs. watch them play.
Great pod . Their dupr accounts are like mine 😂 , whenever I win it never entered or people don't have accounts so I can't log those . Dupr is a work in progress the more we can get everyone on board the more accurate it will be . Still the best system available.
Anna is always a great guest. Agree with Anna about speed off the face. Set a MPH lower than present. Make a paddle out of anything you want. Open play Rec on a public court has posted rules with times, If those aren't followed, report to Parks & Rec. Koop is Queen of BCO. Anna, cars park themselves now.
Yikes! Glad you mentioned Chris Cali. I just saw today Sorry Not Sorry was sent a cease and desist email from the UPA. They ( the PPA/MLP) told him he can’t use their clips. Geez I think that is shortsighted on the UPA.
I see Anna bright around all the time , James and a lot of the top pros all the time. I told Anna a nice momma bright story and before I started talking I think she gave me the wye roll lol but I told her anyway.
Players are showing their best points so the question is how often do they make unforced errors, any major weaknesses that can be exploited and how much raw power to end points when needed?
DUPRs are off. System needs to be revamped. Many of us who are newer players have our learning curves on Duper. And it is almost impossible to climb out of.
You guys are incorrect. If you really look closely at the hit that Jay made to Shelby (05), it is 'exactly' at her face. And Miss Bright, "maybe" you'll get out of the way. It only takes one-tenth of a second. And you may never play the sport again. Is it time for a Player's Union? I agree with 'most' of what Colin said.
Thank you for posting. I agree with AB. Chirping is poor sportsmanship and how far does it go... We found out with Patriquin, a RED card and a loss of a point. Really miss Steve Kuhn.
You just have to admit there are flaws in pickleball games. How do you define "blatant headshots"? Advanced players use "bodybag" technique all the time. If you dare to stand in front the net to block the shots, then you admit that you may get hit.
Yo Zane, how can you hit a slice serve under usap rules? If you have to have an upwards motion there’s no way the ball can travel backwards. Unless you’re talking about hitting side spin.
