I’m a 47 yr old cradle Catholic who became a Protestant for 30+ yrs. I’ve spent the last year revisiting the faith, and I have never had the fervor or thirst for knowledge that I have now for Catholicism. As you stated in the video, there’s a reason some of the strongest Catholic apologists are converts.

In many ways, converts are the best apologists in dealing with protestants, specially if they were devout protestants in the past: they know their fellows, they know their behaving, they know their fallacies, so they can more effectively defend the true because they already know the falsehood. We should celebrate for any convert to the true Faith!
That is wonderful. I’m a former Protestant currently without a church and I’ve been praying God would lead my husband and I to the right church. I’ve been studying Catholicism for a few months now and by the grace of God, my husband on his own asked if I wanted to go to Mass near our home. It is not TLM and I’m worried they will have extraordinary ministers. I’m struggling so much with this because my husband hasn’t yet come to understand the Eucharist and I feel completely changed now realizing what the Mass is all about. We did attend a reverent Mass a month ago but it is in an inconvenient location. It has been a great challenge to try and find a reverent Mass, since my husband is terrified of going to TLM. It is understandable, especially since that is such a huge leap from the baptist church we’d been attending. Everyone in our family is Baptist or evangelical, so it’s been a difficult road. They think we’re crazy and one of my in-laws doesn’t think I understand the gospel anymore

As a fourteen year old Catholic convert, thank you for this video. People act like us converts do not know anything about the faith merely because of the fact we aren’t strictly cradles, while most cradle Catholics have little to no understanding of Catholic moral teaching. You don’t see a lot of Taylor Marshall’s using contraception.
As a born Catholic, nothing could be less relevant to me than whether or not one is a convert. The apologetics speak for themselves and rise or fall on their own merits, simple like that. This is a cool channel.

Agreed I was raised Catholic but at age 11 my family left the church I have returned With a vengeance I crawled back to the Catholic Church in my hands and knees Never to leave again So I’m a weird mix I would never have left the church on my own It was a schism in my family and I was too young to decide for myself. I've listened to most apologetics shows including those you mentioned (and probably the one you didn't). They all have something to offer but I began to find they became a bit repetitive. Topically and attitudely. These days I mostly listen to traditional voices including Daniel O'Connor, Anthony Stein, Fr Ripperger, Fr Alar, Ab Vigano, Michael Matt, Mother Miriam, Matt Fradd & Fr Leo. Their content resonates week in week out. Mother Miriam is probably the only convert in that list. She's always on point.
Your videos on the blessed Mother got me to stay praying the holy Rosary in January last year, although at the time I thought one hail mary was the Rosary 🤣🤣 you and others Catholic RU-vidr and reading the church Fathers play a big part in me going to RCIA, this Easter I will be received into the church full rite. 🙏🙏❤🎉
I am a convert from protestantism who was baptized in 2022 (yeah, my first "baptism" was invalid) and I once explained my cradle catholic friend why we call Mary "Mother of God". And she's my age, we're both 36.
Another reason I would say converts seem to be knowledgable is because, for my case, I used to hate Catholicism, I’d give the old exodus 20:4, “one mediator”, romans 3:23 (on Mary), exodus 20:5 for bowing, having a much more critical understanding, and being rebutted for it tends to stick more than just being brought up with it, cuz you don’t wanna lose arguments.

I agree 100% with you. Converts are just as much Catholic as Cradle Catholics and I love the fact that converts are on YT witnessing the faith. Some of the best channels are Catholic Converts. Whoever says that's not that case is doesn't understand even the basics of the faith and is complete nonsense. However, the issue is not "Hating Taylor Marshall" because he's a convert. The issue is rebuking Taylor Marshall (and the rest of the Pope slanderers) for implying, promoting, pushing the idea that the Pope and the Magesterium is teaching heresy, or the Pope is somehow willfully conning people with this "Weaponized Incrementalism" accusation and that sort of protestant type garbage and poison. That is basically all Michael Lofton is fighting, and thank God for that! as I was once deceived by these sowers of division and slanderers. I'm sure they don't mean or intend to be slanderers, but that's what happening and they are aiding and strengthening the protestant arguments NOT the Catholic Church. THESE people are the ones weaponizing the TLM vs the NO, which is WHY the Pope is trying to regulate it, because it's being used as some sort of tool to discredit the NO. If they stopped doing that, there would be no need to regulate the TLM. In short, accuse the Pope and the Magesterium of heresy, then you are no different than Martin Luther which is why Marshall's protestant origins are being brought up *because he's acting like one.*
I also think converts maybe are the best prepared to bring people from their former religion to Catholicism. I mean I KNOW how the average protestant think, their presuppositions and common misunderstandings about Catholicism. The same for former Muslims bringing Muslims, Buddhists bringing Buddhists, etc.
This pretty much explains how I've felt the past year (converted to Catholicism a little over a year ago, but not yet confirmed). I am still struggling to get everything right during Mass. Every now and then, an elderly Catholic will change pews (away from mine) after the Eucharist, when I'm pretty sure he/she noticed I didn't say all the words, or when I go up to the altar for communion and I cross my arms. Most folks are very nice, but at times I feel like I'm not part of the cool kids club in school, or something. It gets a bit disheartening. And then you have Bergoglio and the possible schism coming... I have awesome timing. 😕

The devil hates the fact that converts are waking up cradle Catholics who have taken too much about their faith for granted. As a cradle Catholic I can see God's hand in this awakening to the faith led by converts. You do far more good than you know. God bless.
My very observant 14-yr-old nephew recently asked me, "why do Catholics fill up their parking lots so much better than other Christians?" I responded that Catholics don't believe the Gospel and go to church to gain "points" toward their salvation. He then said, "Ohhhh.....is that why Catholics look a little scared in church rather than happy like we do?" I love that boy !
I really want to know 2 things. How do I overcome sins, and get disgusted because of them? What's the difference between Catholicism and Orthodoxcism? Because I know the difference between Protestant and Catholics to a degree and have seen a lot of debates and everything. But I have never seen the other, you know.
I think converts are often the best apologists. Look at Trent Horn or St. Augustine. What I would say is that former Protestants need to carefully cultivate a habit of obedience, as I noticed some converts who have large followings, without naming names, will bring a spirit of Protestantism to their criticism of Pope Francis, going further than is reasonable. They need to accept that God is in control, and not jump to conclusions.

I agree we are all Catholic just like NO and TLM, we are still Catholic and profess the same truth. For me I rather focus on my salvation and not the distractions, I will pray for the conversion of others. I don’t need to prove my faith to anyone but will defend it if challenged.
Converts tend to have more passion for the faith that a cradle catholic. They also have a tendency to be more knowledgeable. That’s why they converted.
Official no catholic can make public apologetics without a PERMISSION OF HIS BISHOP. you only can witness and defend the faith in private circle. Your Bishop and Priest are the teachings authorities in your territory....not the demonic counsel of Taylor Marshall...or other ex Protestants. 😊 And maybe you are asking yourself: But why has every ex protestant a apologetic channel? Because the Bishops are 20 years or more behind the social media sphere and have no clue what going on . Okay...questions. 1 what did u convert from just curious? 2 both my mom and dad were catholic but did not raise me in the faith but I received the sacraments of initiation at 16. Mom still calls me a convert. Am I a convert? I mean convert from what?
1. Raised Presbyterian. But live in a very southern baptist/ Assemblies of God area. 2. Did you recieve baptism then, or not in the Catholic church? If so you are probably a convert from the secular world. If your mom thinks thats a bad think she can look in the mirror to see who's to blame.

My parents had a rough patch with the church on account of my mother was married once b4 and an refused to marry mom and dad. But...big but. My mom and dad sent to Catholic schools and have always been supportive of my faith. I think my mother's comments mayb subconscious cradle Catholic supremency.

No but you have to leave your protestant behavior behind you, obedience to the Magesterium and the Pope has to be total otherwise we end up as we are with you tubers spreading disent and making people leave the faith. As a convert I think I can speak for all of us by saying we're more on board with the magisterium and Papal supremacy than most cradle Catholics. After all at some point we made the decision from protesting or even hating the magisterium to completely and fully obeying it. Most cradle Catholics I meet don't take the magisterium so seriously and say stuff like "the rule on contraception is so outdated" or "homosexuality isn't a sin" or "women should be allowed to be Priests" or "the Pope isn't really infallible" etc. . .

I'm a 40yo in RCIA and love listening to anyone talk about Catholicism. I noticed someone give this idea about converts are obnoxious and don't practice the faith right. It just made my heart sink. I'm a cradle Catholic and I find Taylor Marshall has a lot more Knowledge than an ordinary Catholic. People coming into the Church study the faith in depth!
Converts have taught me more about my own faith than cradle Catholics. Often it is due to their journey of conversion, a deep intellectual one involving intense study and research.
May I post an interview of a Catholic revert? My husband was recently interviewed on Catholic Truth. He reverted after being away from the church 40 years - During that time he was a senior pastor of three churches. He graduated from a Thomistic seminary and studied under Dr. Geisler and later on in a PhD program at Baylor with Dr. Frank Beckwith (who also is a revert). After much interior struggle he “read his way” back into the church. What a joy and healing balm it is to hear “Welcome Home” from all the cradle Catholics who remained faithful during our time in the wilderness.

We are all converts. I don't know a single cradle catholic that didn't stop practicing through their adolescence. They usually come to their senses in their 20's or 30's once their parents and grandparents start dying. At that point death gets real and they start asking questions that lead them back to the faith.
Michael L. was part of the Francis bashers or anti-Francis people until he realized their errors and divisive tendencies and decided to decamp. I agree with you though that many converts are more engaged with Catholicism. I think it’s because most Catholics are raised to trust the Church’s magisterium. As a priest, I’ve listen to many RU-vid commentators and was alarmed and perplexed by their poor theology - no disrespect - just stating the obvious. All the name calling to Francis has not produced one theological error against the pope other than he sounds ambiguous. Or as Mr. Taylor said, he has some secrete Jesuit agenda. No, what I find sad though is that most RU-vidrs who are doing this are Protestants and most of them are using the same language I grew up hearing from my Protestant brothers and sisters against the Catholic Church; except, this time it’s against the pope. So, small wonder we are scratching our aheads and wondering if Protestants who couldn’t injure the church from the outside have come in to try doing it from the inside.
First off, I enjoy your content for its clarity. I do have a disagreement. There is a distinction between so-called "cradle Catholics" and converts. It has nothing to do with acquired knowledge of doctine, validity of Baptism, or whether it is ok to engage in apologetics. It's Tradition. As Jesus' Davidic lineage is important logically, but also for the sake of storytelling. So too is being "cradle Catholic" of greater significance in the present for the protection of the mystical body of Christ. In the here and now, a convert's zeal for the faith may lead them to desire radical change, where a "cradle Catholic's" natural inclination will be to conserve the Church due to the connection well past one's own life experience. Don't like this perspective, then build your domestic church into a lineage of "cradle Catholics". The ultimate distinction is one of proper leadership, not pontification. All of the Twelve Apostles were Jews.

Without you awesome converts, this cradle-Catholic wouldn't know very much about his Faith. Also, converts have a special understanding of the concerns of practicing Protestants and can help them understand Catholicism a lot better, with more "street cred".
As a Catholic since birth, i agree with you. It doesn't matter when you converted if you become Catholic you will become part of the mystical body of Christ. Don't mind the tiny minority that dwells into pettiness, most Catholics are busy with their own lives and helping other people.
I love the idea that converts teach Catholicism. Why? Because they are excellent at preaching the Bible with great explanation. Though some (like Marshal) do teach the meaning of hostility. They do know the faith better than us Catholics. That is true.
Hey, sorry that I’ve been away for a while. I’ve been busy with school and work and went on vacation for Christmas. I went to Texas and had a great time. I made some videos for my channel and just made a video with pictures from the trip. While most of the pictures are Texas related and don’t have a Catholic connection, I did include some pictures of the historic churches I visited during the trip, including the one I went to for Christmas Eve Mass. My personal sense, as a cradle Catholic who re-ignited my journey in the Catholic Church, is there being no distinction between cradle or convert ito full communion in the Church. Many cradle Catholics knowledge “stops” at Confirmation at +- 18 yrs, whereas converts often are older, more discerning and mature in acquiring knowledge. The key is the definition of Catholic apologetics - that is providing arguments FOR the Catholic Faith through deep knowledge of Sacred Scripture, Apostolic Tradition and Magisterium. Unfortunately, many “self-styled” apologists are doing the opposite, in persecuting the Church, Papacy and Magisterium and twisting teaching to confuse poorly catechised laity. I dont know where this problem comes from and i did not know that it exists but i fully agree that some converts know more about faith than most cradle catholics. (i am cradle catholic from Croatia and i am thankful for your videos and for videos and books from others) (pardon my spelling!)
Cradle Catholic here. The only thing I ask is if any Catholic (convert or cradle) disagree with the Pope is to keep the disagreement under hat. No sense in spreading rumor and innuendo and end up looking like a fool.
