Until the beginning of 2021, the Department of Transportation forced airlines to allow Emotional Support Animals in the cabins. Not only that, these animals were allowed to stay out of their cages.
This created some problems on the flights with employees, other travelers, and other service animals.
The animals that had not been trained accordingly, were having bathroom accidents in the cabin, biting employees, and getting aggressive.
The Dept. of Transportation had to do something. Here is what they did….

Personally I say if the animal is well trained I'm all for it but if the animal is not trained enough and there's an incident ie someone getting bit or being a general nuisance you should be barred from bringing any animal (until providing valid proof of actual service animal training) onto an airplane unless stowed under

Hey, service dog handler here. There is no license for service dogs. There may be local licenses in some municipalities, but federal laws don’t force people to certify or license a service dog. Other countries do have certificate or licensing but not here in the US.

ESA dogs should not be allowed on planes. They are not needed. They are not trained nor obedient.
