I still have PTSD over a dropped fly ball that cost us the National Championship. I will never be confident until after its won anymore.

Good news is we are at home for the first 2 rounds. We just don't need the hottest team in baseball stuck in our bracket like we have the last couple of draws. Van Horn should just give the guys the week off and play the backups this week. We don't care about this SEC Tournament. Kind of hope we are 2 and done so we can get some rest before the Regionals.

Our hitting would have to get hot and stay hot, so no. If you look at the teams that beat us their batting averages were quite a bit better with equal pitching.

It is hard for me to comprehend doing just what it takes as a former softball player. My coach would have showed me the bench.

I dont think he meant it as in what effort the players are putting forth. I think he meant as in what you have to do to win the game. Not trying to be stylish or fit a certain "criteria" in the wins. I think he just means that, as you know, in the post-season, all that matters is winning.

we only have one starting pitcher and no hitters. started season great, hitting and pitching, but as always nothing in the end

I disagree about the pitching staff. Other than smith , the rest of staff is average or below. I do agree with offense being bad. With both of those together, post season looks gloomy. Still love hogs no matter what happens. Go hogs

No, Hogs won't make it past supers, this team cannot hit consistently at all, our pitching has declined except for 2 guys.

At this point, no, I am not confident. The Hogs finished 3-5 and got run-ruled in a dreadful performance against the Aggies on Saturday. They have picked the wrong time to lose their mojo but I am not surprised. Disappointed but not surprised. Starting hot, or with high expectations, then things start to go wrong, then things go off the rails--this has been a theme with Hogs' sports this year. The football team, the men's basketball team, the women's basketball team, the softball team just this weekend, getting bounced out of the NCAA tournament in their own regional at Boyle as the #12 seed. And it's not just this year. I hate to use the word "typical" but I've been following the Hogs for 55 years now and the baseball team is playing the same song, verse 987. I HOPE HOPE HOPE they prove me wrong and get their mojo back. Can they win the natty? Not if they keep playing like they have in the last 8 games.

Helfrick had WAY TOO MANY passed balls on easily catchable pitches. You have to BLOCK THAT BALL AT ALL COST.

No chance we win a natty. I am as big of a fan as there is but the Hogs are below average on offense. We are 2nd in the country in team ERA, but 201st in team batting average. Look at last year’s CWS teams out of the SEC. Florida, LSU,& Tenn. Tenn was 4th in BA, Florida was 3rd, and LSU was 1st. The Hogs were 12 in the SEC and we were beat out of our own regional. This year, the Hogs are 12th in the SEC again….. Same song, different verse.
