I had my cervix removed and it was the best decision ever! No more bleeding, no more risk of cervical cancer. I did keep my ovaries so I did not go into early menapause.
Getting the entire system, ovaries included, removed March 7th. 32 with PCOS and supposedly endometriosis too. Lots of issues. Never wanted to be a mom. I'm scared of surgery in general, and of the healing process, but I'm ready.
@@lauryn7840 hi i would do the same procedure in a couple of weeks my case is for cervical cancer and ovarian cancer, I do not want to put my body in any kind of experiment to try to become a mother... does your intimate life changed drastically after the surgery ( did it got worst)?
@@Dreamland24.7 My wife had all of that done as well as a colon resection. She had colon cancer but was affecting the ovaries, the liver, lungs and pretty much just everywhere. She tried to please me but it affected her dignity more than my sexual desires. She wanted to please me and felt like such a failure of a Wife and felt so barren and empty-literally because once they do all that theres nothing holding your parts up any longer and gravity just makes everything fall to the floor. It’s a very disgusting feeling. My wife wasn’t a complainer so when she did complain I knew it was bad. We messed around a few times in her final 16 months but I wasn’t expecting sex from her as I loved her more than life itself and didnt want to take advantage of her. She wanted to please me and feel like a woman. It played very hard on her sense of worth bit I assured her vehemently that I still lived her no matter what and she didn’t have to try and please me cause it hurt her to try and I had to be very gentle. She was such a sweet woman and our relationship was special. We rescued each other as high school sweethearts and we both had really crappy abusive childhoods so we meant the world to eachother even after 33 years of marriage. It has been almost 4 months since she passed and the hole in my heart is cavernous. I tried my best to take care of her a d everything else to make her life easier. I know shes waiting for me Nd Ill see her again. And if I know her she is commanding an army for God. She told me numerous times since before we got married at 19 years old that that she knows this life is temporary and that she is on a mission and has certain tasks to complete and when they’re done she will leave and go to her next assignment and we will know each other again. She was connected like that and her and I were connected like no other couple I’ve ever met. Adults used to tell is when we were still teens that we we were more adult like than most adults. We just had plans and goals and wanted to give of ourselves for others in a healthy way. She had a relationship with God like nobody I ‘ve ever seen. It was personL, quiet and she never bragged about it or got preachy to people yet would instruct people just by watching how she handled things. She was a very incredible person to know and work with. She touched so many lives, saved many lives in her line of work and she was an inspiration to many in the nursing community and was such a great instructor.
I wasn’t given a choice , had the op due to haemorrhage menses , I asked about my cervix and was told its ’ best to remove it ‘ . At least I will be spared cervical cancer and as I have no sex life it won’t affect that either …
Exactly.they lie they don't have a clue how important the cervix.plays a role in good sex or cervical orgasm...s the drs performing this sick surgery should have there shit removed.there are many alternatives...today... research iuds
54 second video on perhaps the most life changing experience. She did not mention the vagina is shorter once they sew up the vaginal cuff. Will need pelvis floor physical therapy if you want a normal sex life.
Had total hysterectomy in Feb-everything due to testing positive for MSH2 gene mutation. Robotic surgery. Would have felt totally normal within a month had it not been for having my cervix removed. I know it was the right thing to do but if I had had a choice I would have preferred continuing to have Pap smears and leaving my cervix intact.
I am having in about a week, a hysterectomy ( my uterus and fallopian tubes removed), due to an enlarged uterus, fibroids, and adenomyosis, I will keep my ovaries and my cervix. I hope I am making a good decision keeping my cervix. I always had a normal pap smear, I am 49 now. Also dealing with perimenopause symptoms!
@@Shay3356 they are small, not that big. My adenomyosis is very severe, and I do have symptoms of endometriosis also. Not diagnosed yet. But is very common to have both adenomyosis and endometriosis at the same time.
@@SimonaDelean thank you for replying. I had a 11cm fibroid, after some intense research I cancelled a full hysterectomy and used natural ways to shrink that crazy fibroid. It worked within a month and I couldn’t be happier. Us women go through an awful lot through life and I’m happy to share my experience if I can help others. I wish you good health sis❤️
My hysterectomy was due to cancer so cervix removal was a no brainer. Also, you still need smears if you don't have a cervix. Cancer can still start in the vagina.
No. Not the only reason. I had huge fibroids and would bleed for two weeks during my period. I was anemic and had a uterus the size of a cantaloupe so I had abdominal hysterectomy 3/12/2020 removing cervix and uterus.
@@Deltagirl74 same with me. But i don't know that fibroids shrink after menopause and my doc didn't tell me. Otherwise i will handle my periods. After removing these organs from body create many problems.
@@jyotilic3079 what kind of problems did you experience? I have read that fibroids don’t shrink when you go through menopause, they just aren’t an issue anymore.
What if I need a hysterectomy after birth or have uterine fibrosis can I still keep my lady parts to go pee though because I saw something pretty scary on google about this now I am scared be honest because my family does have a risk of birth complications
Male drs need there testicles removed just in case cancer appears one day...same with there prostate....female Drs do n this surgery also need to have this surgery done to them..... So they can advocate about it and tell the truth
Worst decision removibg my cervix. Was nit given choice. I sm so depressed nw. What about my future health, I am 49, sex life is scary. I am still healing. 1week.post op. Cnt they put something in place to reattach a cervix. So much technology out there. Reading pure horror stories
I had an emergency hysterectomy but I chose to keep what was good still which was one ovary and cervix . Initially my left ovary was imploding and uterus was huge. Once in he seen endo metriosis fibroids and a cyst and removed my appendix cause it was wrapped.
If your doctor a real surgeon he or she will replace it and they supposed to but some don’t but my doctor said it’s better if something there if not it’s a empty space they what ever left in the stomach supposed to fill the empty space but mines replace it to something else
