Yes! Yes! And Yes!!! You should absolutely do this!!! Your thoughtful design, from storage to electrical , on your van and others ', puts you in a position to succeed! Go for it!! Cheers from Ontario 🫶
I'm so happy for you that you're going to see your daughter! even if you don't share any video of your visit, all I'd love to see is a shot of the joy on your face when you see her in person!
You would be good at it for sure Joseph. I think the route to take would be manufacturing kits for different style van conversions instead of one off builds.
With your skills and experience I believe it is something you should definitely venture if you are given the opportunity to do so. The question is really Why not? It is so beautiful up there. Awesome you got to enjoy time with your good friends. That desk is gorgeous 😍 I'm excited for you to get to go see your daughter. Much love 🤗 🤗
Whatever you decide, follow your heart. It has to bring you joy and meaning, not just your yt followers. I have loved what you've done so far and am thankful you get to spend time with your daughter. Put that first then consider the rest. May blessings in 2024 abound.
Ummm YES!! You're very skilled and people would love a custom build, especially if you did mini-vans exclusively. I think it is a market niche that you would do well in.
Joseph, I love the look & feel of your van compartments. So sleek, streamlined, efficient, classy, like in an airplane. I have often thought how much I'd like your setup style. If you could make premade components to sell for vans I wonder if it could work? Your cabinetry has such a cool look vibe. It carries that excitement u feel when on a plane, how everything is so tight & efficient, sleek clean, even that click when a latch closes or push to open, or a door slides, or you have a pocket. It looks like a real pleasure to live with, fun, a variety of storage options, but highly efficient, looks quality. Could you just make & sell separate components somehow? Happy for your upcoming visit!!
Think about this though, his work rate is about $100/ hr and most van dwellers are low to moderate income. His van builds would be on par with Puravida vans of Squamish. Big bucks$$$$$
@blueman5924 I'm a dweller on disability but have home base do to some important medical. I gave my complete build to a young student and there dog so they have a chance I'm sure affordability may be a issue but his work is good stuff
If you decide to go in this build direction, there are going to be some bloody nice builds happening. Was surprised to see this video, expected next one would be of you in tears. You know we all are so happy for you to be able to make this trip. Also, I know some may expect, most dont expect to many if any videos while you are with your daughter. Daddy daughter time to important to waste time video tapping. Enjoy cant wait to see those tears. safe travels
Hi Joseph, I think starting a business is something to really think about, I think it’s a great idea. But ultimately it’s your choice, maybe consider thinking about it after seeing your daughter, then I think you’ll know where your heart and thoughts lye.😊Safe travels 😃
Right now just Soak In every Moment with your Daghter. We can see how much she means to you. This is going to be one of the hardest things for you to do. As for van builds only you know what you want to do & ACCOMPLISH Joseph. We say go for it. We'll still be here to watch & Support you how ever we can. Namaste Joseph Namaste
YES! YES! YES! A THOUSAND TIMES, YES!!! You are remarkably talented and would bring creative function with the best use of any small space to any build you do! 😊
jphanks has the idea I think you should follow. Chrome will be working on having multiple vendors exclusively to provide items for van builds in his warehouse space. With your talents and knowledge I think it would be a perfect one-stop shop for future and existing van dwellers who can get a custom built van. Whatever you may choose to do, I wish you the best of luck and prosperity!
Thank you for this video Joseph. You are the one of importance in this decision, for sure. Those picky YT viewers amongst us, who pop their heads up from time to time, can just scroll on if they choose to be petty and not agree with that decision 😉🙃😊 . Rest of us will be riding along with you. Your life, that which sadly comes so briefly to us. And genuine, real, good friends, are hard to come by. Looking forward to your decision. Be well. So exciting to be with your little one. Fun times ahead. Hugs and kisses aplenty I know.Take care Joseph. Kiwi wishes over the miles 💫 🙋♀️ 🚐 🌏
Just remember.. if you do decide to build, its a full time job vs at your convenience. Your quality of life would improve and I think keeping busy = A happier person
I would make kits for Jeeps and minivans. They sell for around 5000 bucks and you can ship all over the world. Your workmanship is better than what is on the market.
What did you do with the sound oh my. It souned like you fast forwarded thru the explanations of your trip & something about a van build. Impossible to comprehend. May your trip to see your daughter be a blessing & memorable
Definitely something to think about. You've got the skills and acumen to do fantastic work. Just to play the other side of the board, since everyone here so far is saying go for it. -Take into account how much compromise you can live with. The clients willing to pay for the type of craftsmanship standard that is displayed in your van build are a niche within a niche. So sticking to that high level of detail or be willing to pull back on it will need to be considered. - I also think, and I don't mean this in a negative or condescending way, that the van life "trend" has to be considered. Is it still on the up swing? Peaked? On the down slope? Are folks moving away from full time van life, but being replaced by those looking to camp or travel on weekends or vacation? - Is the trend going to grow long term, away from factory built (and low quality for the price) traditional RV's/trailers in favor of a better quality DIY/Semi-DIY/bespoke unit? -Would cargo trailer conversions be worth adding to the menu? These are great as you and/or the client can custom build and not have the extra work/cost of having a full second vehicle to maintain and pay for. Plus they are likely very similar to each other. At least more so than vans. More of a blank slate to work on, with less stuff to adapt around as found in a vehicle. - Are you ready to anchor yourself down to a business and business partners? Lots to consider. But I'm sure you'll have all this swimming around in your head. :) Bert
Hey Joseph, your friend Jay has an amazing home and an amazing view that 3-D printer is awesome. What an opportunity that would be to do van builds I am so happy you’re going to see your daughter in Indonesia have a safe trip and have fun with your daughter and thanks for sharing 🇺🇸♥️🙏👍😎🫶🌎🛫🛩️🇨🇦
What a fun adventure you're on 🙂 It's so amazing you are going to see your daughter! I'm so happy for you! Theirs time to decide on what you want to do & it's wonderful to have the opportunity to do what you enjoy doing if that's what you choose 🙂 Enjoy time with your precious daughter/ give lots of hugs & kiss Little one's like that 😉🙂 Great video 🤗👍 See you on the next video 🙂
I was thinking Chrome has his new space and he'd treat you right as a partner, or renting a space. Since he's launching his space and builds. But after seeing Jay's setup that's more your style! What's with the superspeed segments? Lol. I LOVE 3d printers!! Resin and filament both! ETA : nevermind, saw the error of my thots, thanks guys!
*Mr. Wild . . . duuude ONE MORE SLEEP til ya fly so far away to Indo!! So excited for you & your wee girlie* Plllease be careful with flooding now in the wet season. Ive been following the immense flooding in Java++ and will be watching Bali too closely while you are away. *Please if there is a legit big event there you know we will all be wondering how you are... if you have wifi please do a short or community post to let us all know you are ok or you can open end a Patreon post too I imagine so anyone can see* Best to you as you adventure and travel afar. Don't forget about us mere minions...even if you only have time to do 'shorts and community page posts then we know you are well. Remember NO street food incl ice drinks...omg the story I have to tell you one day.
Sure, why not? It's something you are good at.you can hire people to help so you wont have to be there all the time. I follow Johnnie's journey.she was a nurse who drove around building stuff in peoples vans.moved down south and bought some land.built a big garage and enough room for people to camp on.she does simple builds to all out builds.
Heyyyyyyy!! Have missed you. YES, do absolutely YOU. Jay’s energy matches yours so beautifully. I know you’ll make the right decision. Have a magical and memorable trip to Indonesia and enjoy time with your daughter. Cheering you on!! Love and light ‼️💯❤️🫶🏽
I wish you good luck in whatever you decide to do Joseph. As long as you continue to be your conscientious, thoughtful self you should do well. And of course we haven't met.. but I am truly happy for you on your upcoming trip to see your daughter ❤.
You’re a talented craft person, utilise those skills to produce income enough to visit your daughter more often. Potentially, you could also expand your content and channel. The downside, running and working in a business is difficult, stressful and time consuming, presumably there would be an element of financial risk too. From an outsiders perspective the upside seems to outweigh the downside but thats easy to say when I don’t know all the factors you are considering.
I have a feeling you would do great I just hope it doesn’t ruin your friendship with the guy who builds vans that you worked for! Anyways good luck hope it all works out! Love the videos
Most important now is your visit with your daughter. Enjoy every minute. Personally to do van builds is totally up to you. It's one thing to help or do van builds for friends totally different for a client. You know what they say the client is always right regardless. You do have a lot to think about . Best if luckand enjoy your trip.
You should create van pieces of art. Your crafsmanship is extrordinary, your atenttion to details is insane, so only you can deliver a piece of art out of a van. Also, you know, I like chrome very much, but your levels of energy are not matching. He is very intense and you are more chill, smooth. So, in the long term that could be an issue. Be friends, hang out together, but work separately. Happy new year Jo! From Argentina, Xoxo from Xules
Cold water, no thanks 🥶🤣🤣 I don’t like the winter time as it is, LoL. And then to jump into cold water when there is hot water available, no thank ya 😂 The desk he built, WOW the wood looked beautiful 🫶🏻👍🏻 Safe travels Joseph, but I hope ya have loads of fun, which I’m sure ya will. 🙏💕
Yes I think you would do extremely well at any type you choose to build I also would love to see look on you face when you see your daughter. Enjoy and take time for you.
No, you shouldn't do that. Especially with a good friend. Unless you really love van building and are prepared to do this for the rest of your life at least ten hours per day. Meaning giving up on trips to the outdoors, hunting, fishing, diving. Or one day every weekend in the area of the workshop at the most. Plus you got to set up standard procedures to crank out van builds every two weeks, else you won't earn enough. You can't do high end van builds, because they take longer to build (6 - 10 months), and if there is a serious conflict with a client you don't have any income for the whole period you've been working on that problem client's van. If you go out to much in the wild you'll get trouble with Jay. And if a big problem client (luxury van) gives the company financial problems, could also mean the end of the friendship.
Yes…. Not sure about Canada but I always see inquiries for van builders in van groups…. Not in cheap ones but I’ve seen many in groups for the older demographic….
Yes, Chrome is going to need someone to work in his new shop. Three bays and a lift is going to need someone fulltime in there while he is out doing back country video's. You need to hit him up and see what his plans are for with this massive shop. You have the tools and the experience to work for or partner up with. That ambulance he has needs to get a push closer to completion.
Wonderful video, good to see you looking happy and healthy. Looks like you’re about to have a great year ahead. Not sure when you’re leaving for Bali, but it would be great to get together before you leave, either here or there. We had an awesome Christmas, spending a lot of time in the studio painting, and selling a bunch of paintings on instagram these days. Life is good…. Stay safe happy, and healthy. Love Bobby and Diane
NOt one single doubt you should take the venture. You are Great at it and all it entails. Mangage your time well and prosper !! HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP and VISIT with your Dtr Joseph! We look forward to the new views. OMG that wood use for desk IS GORGEOUS !!!!!! Where did you fly??
Yes Joseph, if Indonesia has no future for you I definitely see you building vans with your friend. I think that could be a 50/50 partnership with a serious, intelligent like minded person. Don't stand in anyone's shadow! You don't need or deserve that. You will be successful & happy.
Loved seeing you Joseph what happened at the beginning the speed on the video was out speeded up. Also on the diving could hardly hear you. Then it all came together. On a positive note great idea you and J building camper vans as a business would be great. Just make sure you can getaway on some road trips so we get both build and adventure videos. I am so so happy for you going to see your daughter its going to be amazing. Love best wishes hope you have an amazing time do some shorts to let us know how much fun you are having. Stay safe michael uk
have always thought this would be an awesome avenue for you to pursue, but do what feels good for YOU.. enjoy your visit with your daughter too. thanks for the video n see ya on the next one
Looks like a nice visit .that desk was amazing. Take care and do what u want dont worry about what we want .we will still watch .some of us love the content
Without watching the video yet I say you should start a van build Company....you have talent and skills. people would happily hire you to do a quality build. cheers.
Should you start a van company is a great question! As you know Chrome already launched his van parts business, so you could compete against him or maybe work as a supplier to him. Inventory space is a big factor. But another option is your van company doing custom builds and using Chrome as a direct supplier. The latter sounds bomb.
Nice to “see” you having a good time on the other end of the lake with your friend. I skipped the polar bear dip this year. 😂 Beauty desk he crafted. 👍👍🍁🤙
I have always thought it wine great however You have a lot of interest with your diving, fishing, plants helping with remodeling cabins etc…. Would you really want to commit yourself to building ……You are definitely capable of anything you want to do….. very talented! 👏🏻😎❤️
Hello Joseph. I'm so glad you're going to Indonesia. Burr watching u two in that water! It would be cool if you two built out mini vans. Yours is beautiful! ~Loreen
I have not seen the video yet but that was my suggestion to you long ago. You are a great builder with malicious skills. You would do well. You can do it as you want when you want and you'll do well.
loved the video. you would be the best at engineering a van build. but you will do what you will do. thank you. oh and, that made me cold just watching
