As an Ipswich fan I really want him to stay as gives us the best chance of survival. However, I understand why his head has been turned by established prem teams. At the end of the day being a head coach is his career and moving to an established prem team is career progression for an ambitious and talented coach. I think the Brighton job is the most logical but if united offer him the job he clearly will take that. He doesn’t owe us at Ipswich anything, he has more than paid back the club. Back to back promotions, taken us to the prem, and given the fans so many great memories over the last two seasons. McKenna has started the journey under our new ownership fantastically and given us a great platform to build from.

This makes no sense at all from a career standpoint. McKenna's stock is high and big opportunities like Man Utd & Chelsea only come along once in a lifetime - you have to take your chances when they come. Next season Ipswich will get smashed in the Premier League and McKenna's stock will be severely dented. This looks like an awful decision if he stays.
