They should remove the negative affixes and replace them with positive affixes, where dps and tank have to get for dps boost or survivability to be able to beat the timer or go faster.

Tbf I think healing is fine, I’ve been pugging up to 26 like 4-6 weeks ago. The only issue is that people don’t use defensives or don’t know abilities… don’t think the healing itself with or without affixes + boss abilities are too hard.. although I do feel holy priest are too squishy and have issues with healing on the move..

Most affixes have to be managed in some way by the healer. This includes avoidable damage for dps and tanks. How about an affix which debuffs damage done, that each player has to clear for themselves by taking some action? It also does no damage to the player, so as not to punish the healer when a party member doesn't handle their own game play.
@Solar750
@Solar750 7 месяцев назад
Affixes can't be tied to dispells if you are going to include "must dispell" mechanics. Too few classes can help with that affix, on top of PUGs not doing it even if their class has the ability. If Blizz insists on affixes (I'd remove entirely or put at much higher keys), then every affix needs to able to be managed by every class/role. It's just too punishing to lower end teams and PUGs.

I would like to try the healing style they introduced at the beginning of cataclysm (did not last more than 1-2 patches due to spirit stacking for mana regen): - high hp pools compared to incoming damage - mana expensive healing: good healing rotation and slower ramping of heals costs less mana, fast strong heals requires lots of mana. No one shot but healer goes oom if he messes up the heal rotation or the team is that bad - different damage patterns which do not kill the players in 3 seconds, you don't need to overheal and top up everyone instantly This way of healing is a slower paced, more tactical healing style which requires the healer to decide when do they need to top up everyone quickly or have time to ramp the healing slowly. It did not last because we got a lot of spirit and manaregeren from gears as the itemlevel was increased with each raid tier but now we have fixed manaregen or active manaregen (like mana tea) so we can't overgear the mana issues that easily. I'm not sure if this would be more enjoyable but I really liked it at the beginning of cataclysm where we had to watch our mana pool but also could save someone if needed at the cost of mana. Another idea: Make healing easier but give healers support abilities/rotation. If the group does well and avoid damage, the healer can support them with extra damage. I don't like that there is a dedicated support spec in the game, I would prefer if all healers had support abilities built into their toolkit.

Pug groups can be a huge nightmare, but I love groups that help out. It makes a huge difference when people are using their defensives and help with affixes. It's normally the groups that don't do any of those that are the most toxic towards healers when things go wrong.

I LOVE healing around 50% of the time - PUGs and guild groups - however, sometimes - and I can only think it may be an age related thing (I am 53 and have been playing since 2006) I can't stand immature/inconsiderate groups. If you are a warlock - put out your healthstones, if you are a mage - put out food, USE YOUR POTIONS - come buffed!!! I am not a GOD healer - and if you aren't even trying - I won't bother with you. I have literally been in a few groups where one DPS is on follow - doing NOTHING - then dies and complains....NO. You are totally right on about healers having to deal with affixes too much - and I LOATHE healing NPCs - Chromie, Treeants, and the ghosts in the Fyrakk fight. I have been toying with the idea about ditching healing for next season, but I think I want to try all the dungeons with all my healers until it gets too spicy.

I love healing checks and less emphasis on dps as a healer. However, like you said, affixes fall on healers far too often. I will legit leave a group if theres a warrior during afflicted/incorp weeks. Or if theres a lock and hunter during afflicted. Cant rely on only 2 people to dispell especially one of whom being a healer with these tight healing checks. Also, EVERY dps should play a healer so they know what hurts and when to press their damn defensives.

In the sense of pugging, its sad if so many affixes rely on the healer, in a premade group its imo no issue. Im fine with the healing checks this season, but I am highly worried about the next season. Halls, Uldaman, Nokhud, IIRC Ruby & Algethar too had some tide checks to cover. I hope many people will react to this video we really need this. I want SL type of healing if healer damage is similar. I still remember MW had dog damage we did like 2k overall and paladins and shamans could do 10k :D, The problem is 80-70% of the player base never heals over 25+ keys and they really don't know how it feels to heal higher keys (including Blizz devs) and how the 1 shot mechanics happen and we can only rely on the DPS to use def cds otherwise they die and we can't do anything to help them. I would also fix some of the squishy DPS players like (moonkin , shaman, hunters etc). Also I find it funny they did not nerf EB the whole season and some of the dungeons... In my opinion Blizz should do TGP early in the season all the time and they would see what the problems are. I hope they will not mess up TWW. I played every season in M+ BFA was the best and Legion SL was ok DF is pretty tilting and bad, First time ever I stopped playing WOW because I just can't do it anymore ( high keys).

Well said! I definitely prefer when the big focus on playing healer is healing. I hate whenever the meta shifts back to 'you're basically a DPS who sometimes presses a healing cooldown,' because that locks a lot of healing specs out of the meta and it's just not fun. I like trying to maximize DPS where I can, but at the end of the day, I play a healer to heal. That said, I also think the current affix situation (and where responsibility falls) could use another look, especially if dungeon design going forward is trending towards more DotI where your dispel is a premium and you can't count on your group to support you with Afflicted.

I really enjoy healing checks, that should be the main reason you bring a healer to a dungeon. Bosses doing big aoe or St tank healing checks, and some spot healing. However the way dungeons are currently, lesser pack mobs 1 shot you if you miss an interrupt at 25+ and spam casts. If your not a healer which can 0-100% a player in 1-2 globals, your gonna have a really rough time. Not to mention every affix being a healer affix.

Healer DPS - I think that is why disc priest and monk did well this season - they heal through damage. I have wondered if ALL spec get at least 4 main M+ specific spells and one that heals through damage (all specs get similar) and all have a B-Rez. I would love if all healers had 1: AOE heal, 1 spot heal, 1 heal through damage and all a dispel and B-rez. Give each class some bell/whistle that is fun for that class like rescue, treenants, totems...

Healer roles (and maybe some hybrid specs or even a mage/lock spec) need to transition or have spec choices to make it into a Support spec like augmentation which brings a ton of utility, bonuses and heals which are more effective than current hybridsmore that will tie gameplay together. (Classes have so much self sustain, cooldowns and utility that makes healers redundant and then when they don’t use those things, it’s more pressure to the healer) All classes CC/Interrupts/dispels/healing need to generate a MASSIVE amount of resources or bonuses to make it WORTH using as a DPS. (This can be tuned down in PvP)

I've allmost allways played a healer in m+ an tbh i often run out of mana on my ret pally in keys because my healer seems to be overwhelmed. It's alot of learning the dungeon, healers tend to be reactive and they shouldnt just like dps think 5 seconds ahead instead of thinking of what happened a second ago
@Solar750

It might be a crazy cook, but I'd like to see only big CD heals use mana, and instead of having huge CD's on them, mana dictates how much / how often they get used. This way you could choose how to combo or hold them and add some interest rather than just cycling them. Also, then all healers could again use mana even if their primary healing comes from energy/holy power/etc. It would also make shared power mana abilities equally useful across healers (Innervate/Hymm/etc.)

After key lefter 24, I again, don’t feel like a healer. 24 seems to be the perfect key level where if dps don’t use cds properly, they can still be healed. 25, if they don’t use defensives properly, they dead anyway. Pre 24, the dmg just doesn’t matter.

I've been enjoying healing in Season 3 but only when in a group with fiends. I don't go as high as a lot of people here (mainly just 18-20's) but going with a group of friends that use cooldowns on a 19/20 is a walk in the park compared to a 12 with people who don't interrupt, CC or use cooldowns. I think a lot of the discussions come from the difference between a low key pug where every bit of damage goes off and people pushing keys at the high end who know what they are doing and mitigate a lot. It's difficult to come up with a solution as I really enjoy the current paradigm of dungeons with more emphasis on avoiding damage. I think a seasonal affix could be an idea that copies the monks stagger idea. This would negate 50% of the damage received (applying it back over the next 10 seconds) at the cost of the same percentage of damage in relation to your health. As an example if you take a hit that is 100% of your hp then 50 % is staggered and your dps drops by 50%. 2 seconds later you take a dot for 10% of your hp (20% of total staggered) and your dps goes up 10%. This repeats every 10 seconds until it is gone. If you take extra damage during that time your dps keeps dropping. By staggering the damage this way healers would become less stressful as even a one shot would give a healer 10 seconds to heal the full damage whilst at the same time would punish DPS for not using defenses or missing a stun. I appreciate less dps = longer fights = more healing but if you wipe because the dps are only doing 30k dps then it is hard to blame the healer for going oom.
@KaeptnBolle

With the current scaling we would need like 200% incoming dmg, 250% HP and tanks should have like 30% of their current healing. Then playing a healing spec would be fun again and not only related to dealing damage.

Here’s my 2 cents as a mistweaver. Mana: in a good place. If I’m going through regular maintenance healing, mana levels are fine. If I have to heal like crazy because there is a lot of damage, chain pulling or people standing in stuff, I need to manage my mana properly. This, I think, is how mana should work. Big healing means you need to manage it. Healing checks: I personally enjoy healing checks, as long as it’s not constant throughout the key. I do like to DPS as a healer so it’s annoying when the entire party’s HP is jumping around from casts, but I like a challenge. Having to plan my healing CDs for big boss phases or abilities like the sentinel drowning casts in Tides or the Tree in way rest is fun and feels rewarding when you get it right. I don’t enjoy the ones where I have to run around while also meeting a healing check though, like EB bosses 2 and 3. DPS as a healer: I love it, but it should be optional. I love blasting DPS as a healer when the party is safe. I think we could use a buff or at least give us some better trinket/talent options. If I talent I to a full DPS build and use DPS trinkets, I should be rewarded with more than half the tanks damage. Also let me loot DPS INT trinkets like Belaros !!

honestly id love if there was some interaction between healing and dps... id love a mixture of intense healing which isnt yoyoing health bars... i can only speak for myself but im always trying to guage how fast someone is dying and figuring out a priority heal.. when you have huge spikes of damage... that incoming damage feels unpredictable and it just feels like the only decision is to press anything and everything to keep everyone at 100%... id also love if healing had a stored damage mechanic so that the dps uptime isnt as important... you can sort of stack a dmg modifier from healing and vice versa... so it isnt about doing everything all the time, but staying to do healing at the start of a pull and then sort of powering up a big aoe to finish it off. more calculated gameplay rather than wet noodle dps spam.

I don't want to be the best dps as a healer. If I want to dps I will play a dps class, not a healer. So I definitely agree with affixes problem and mana balance as well. Honestly S3 healing wasn't that bad imo, but affixes in pugs kills me almost everytime. Also bad usage of DR from other players, but I think that using DR CDs in the right time isn't in Blizz hands, but in ours as a players. That's why I also agree with every "only dps player" should try to heal some keys, so they can really see for themselves what is healing without DR CDs from the other roles😅

On this topic I agree with many people. I have tried and tried to get a group together and nothing has worked out sadly. I'm on a low pop server so that doesn't help. the issue with healer is not rly about mm+ it's just that we have a complexity creep making most class way more difficult and healer suffer a lot from it since their job require the most situational awareness + we have a defensive creep so the survivability diff between a dps that use his cd right and wrong so most of the agency of your class is on the dps hand the game is masively harder than during legion bfa shadowland so the difficult role is less accesible

I agree. Healing should be the main focus, but doing dmg is also fun. In a lot of keys (up to 20-22) I stay more in cat form than in cast form, as long as ppl use defensives. Tanks are immortal, dps use defensives and health pots. Until I run into a group where the tank doesnt keep up mitigation and dps dont press defensives. Then it's "healer bad" :p better to nerf all defensive and dps/tank self heal at this point, so we know what's coming. That way we know to focus on healing all the time.

Yes, more healers need cc, dr, and group dps buffs. The healers should be the group supports. Shaman is my favorite healer, as someone who plays 4 healing classes, (DPS and tank) all 2800+ a couple at 3k playing shaman is just fun. I do enjoy adding DPS, but I like being able to stun, interrupt, add DR for players to survive mechanics, etc all while keeping the group alive. It's by far the least boring healer imo.

I dont understand why we cant have both high healer dps and healing checks In SL healer dps was important because there were almost no healing checks. DF dungeons are the exact opposite. So my question is, with the way dungeons work right now, what would happen if all healers across the board did 20-30% more dmg? The healing checks are still there, so it's not like you can ignore healing. And no matter how much dmg you do, it doesn't matter if your party dies. Also keep in mind that up to a +20, healer dps is not important so its up to you if you want to dps or not My suggestion, keep things the way they are, and just buff everyone's dps by a lot PS: Buff hpala WoG damn it!

Second non healers should not be able to self heal as much as a healer can heal them. I hope next expac healer damage isn’t trash.

I’d say it would be crazy fun to have more healer checks if they fixed some of the affix problems. Less healer dps if you ask me. Keep fort and tyran, remove the affixes. Adjust the key scales so you cant run without a healer.

I like the take of healers becoming a support more than just a "classic" spam heals on tank class. I don't mind the extra challenge of more healing needing to be done, it's much better than playing a pseudo dps as a healer which is the worst version of a dps spec. That said current affixes require too much effort from healer and it's a game only healers play. I would like to see changes to m+ affixes to force other group members to play around them not only healers. What I would also like to see is change how mobs function in m+. Right now, it's possible that five caster mobs target one player, and he gets just one shot when all casts go through. I think in each pull all caster mobs should be balanced around the party not to nuke a single player.

No joke, in every aspect of Mythic + content I think that it's important to separate the type of content from other PvE stuff. Creating Season sets (like Tier sets in raids) on gear that scales in M+. That's it. You want a lot healing done in M+, a type of content that scales up? Then give us gear that scales up as well. Let us loot 800 ilvl from a +50 key idfc. Let us have M+ specific sets where the set bonus is that the area affected by a hunters trap or a frozen orbs w/e will be cleansed if the set bonus is active. Or a Boomie which can spam solar beams in his CDs w/e. We don't need the DMG in M+ when the gear scales. We would have the stats going up, so the healer and tank checks are possible to play.. and then we only need the CC and survivability part from DPS players as well.. why not giving us funny season bonuses on sets which let us do crazy big pulls even in pugs just because CC is so much easier and part of the DMG rotation or smth? I don't think that it's the scaling of a dung that feels bad these days. I think it's that we are playing scaling M+ with gear which isn't allowed to scale and which is looted from another type of content. Looting a chest in the vault from whatever type of content and wearing it in all scenarios with different sets being active based on the type of content you're playing atm would be my most desired dream ngl. And also scaling gear for M+ like some private servers have.. it can be capped in raid, it can have pvp power scaling and it could also have m+ power scaling or whatever you would call it. The scaling would depend on your rating. If you have 3 k rating, it would scale to gear that drops from +20s if you have 3.6k rating it would scale to gear you could loot from 30s with higher ilvl etc.. Of course this would let us do higher keys.. but.. that's what we all want right? Give us never ending M+ scaling and let us go for +50 keys and crazy CC set bonuses. Why not ?

As a newer player, and as someone who has purely pugged, healing is not friendly, and even Mythic plus isnt feeling friendly. But playing a healer, and not getting accepted to anything in pugs because you're not a MW, is depressing, and is really pushing me down mentally. I do not want to HAVE to play a specific class to get accepted into high end content. Seeing groups only take my class if theyre out of options, or if its in a group that plays together is extremely frustrating. In high keys, the skill check needed, to do affixes, cc mobs, do damage and meat the insane heal checks and defense utility it ridiculous. Especially when healers are not even in the fact of personal defensives, group defensive/externals, dispells (This especially) without consideration of Kicks, CC utility. Especially in pugging, when people overlap kicks, and someone will get one shot, someone wont dispell themselves (If they have the ability) they refuse to use defensives and take your exterals. And tracking CDs, compensation for who doesn't have a defensive at that moment. Having someone feign death a mechanic after you put an external on them and it goes onto a different person. I know my opinion is less because im newer to the game and ive only been doing high end content this season really. But it is just not fun. In regards to mana. I personally think if we're required to dps. Our dps spells should not cost mana/should regen small amounts. I could keep going and give a ton of different things id like to see. But i doubt any of it will happen. And im sure ill be argued with just for putting this much down. Hopefully Season 4 is good, I've enjoyed this season, does it stress me out? Yes. But season 2 was absolutely miserable to me.

Also delete afflicted, Warrior, rouge, DH, hunter, lock, ect do not deserve to be ignored for a whole week when that affix is active. I understand Incorp if everyone can CC (Also again, warrior abuse, give them something to deal with it though) but having afflicted, when a lot of classes can't help with it, when dispells are already super important. Is. Not. Fun. We're supposed to enjoy mythic plus. Not be stressed to the moon and back because we have a healer doing the Fall mechanic dispells while trying to heal the heal check and there's two afflicted up on top of that.

I have been saying this all videos and streamers that have high M+. Healer Experience needs a complete rework because it gets less fun further you push into keys. I am genuinely concerned that it will be even less fun to push next season with having fewer keystone levels to progress before content just feels not fun again. A little backstory on myself. Dragonflight exp - I have healed all expansion and Have played to a fairly high level only pugging. S1 I played Druid/ Shaman, S2 Disc,Monk,Druid,Shaman, (Quit when paladins become only healer), S3 Druid only. Overall I enjoyed the dungeons to a degree through expansion however some affixes were deemed Healer Affixes and I would do my weekly keys and that's it. It wasn't fun being forced and expected to be the only one dealing with affixes. I pushed to around key level 25ish and after that, I didn't find it worth pushing further. it was crapshoot if people understood damage patterns enough to not get 1 shot. Overall I just didn't find that experience fun. The healer role as a whole has felt like a support role this entire expansion. The problem that I believe needs to be solved for healers is Player Agency relative to the Spec's Role. In mythic+ a healer will do nearly the same healing whether you're doing 18-key or 25-key. In most instances, the tank will match you in healing output. Healers have tons of player agency in terms of Dispels, Defensives, Damage, Utility. The other problem is DPS Comp nearly always dictates the healer picked for M+ alot times relates back to BattleRez and Bloodlust. so Issues I would like to see solved for M+ #1 Bloodlust/Battlerez should not be tied to a spec P. This very much limits which healers can be in meta, DPS are always chosen first then the healer has to provide anything that missing. S. This should be available either through M+ UI or from consumables from the auction house. it needs to be the same strength as the classes that bring it or it won't work. #2 Defensive Rebalance for all classes P. Defensive balance among the 40 Specs is all over the place. Some have 20%, Some have 40%, Some have 2 cds, Some have 5, Some always have defensives. if everyone expected to mitigate the damage before it's healed then that makes either for a potential 1 shot or stressed-out healer cause they just went from 100% to 5% if they didn't use a defensive. Or the opposite and they barely took damage and healing isn't needed because they mitigated all damage. It makes it so the healer doesn't have any agency in recovering the incoming damage. S. Rebalance All Defensives so that you can balance M+ monster damage to be more fluid for all specs and healers. To provide healers a more interactive gameplay experience. #3 All healers Provide an interesting DPS rotation. P. not all healers have interesting DPS rotations. If a healer is expected to play like a dps... let's make their rotation interesting. S. Add 3-5 button rotation for healers to be able to enjoy dps. let them have a way to be able to min-max, Maintain buffs?, maintain debuffs?, Build up to a burst damage? Also let's fix healer gearing for DPS. Let healers be able to role on tank and DPS trinkets. its so not fun trying to collect rage heart on healers that can't spec tank. Or vice versa for caster trinkets for monks. Healer masteries should also provide dps benefits in some form. I.E. Dots Tick harder for druid mastery. #4 All group utility Provided in multiple ways. Make comps less rigid P. God Comp is going to continue to exist until we fix Group Buffs. Look at the last few iterations of god comp. nearly every spec brings a scaling buff. S. Provide multiple specs for the scaling buff or provide items to fill in missing buffs. #5 Make Mana Matter. Mana is still a great healer mechanic. (Some of most fun I've had in WoW is when Mana matters and There have to be thoughts on how to conserve Mana) P. Mana in M+ really doesnt matter.. its rare I ever have to drink or if I do it's less then a couple times. S. Bring Back different damage types, Rot Damage, Burst Damage, and Rotation between the two. make ways for healers to be able to recover mana. Make mana a mechanic again. There can be player agency in mana. If crazy throughput is required it should hurt your mana bar and force gameplay to recover. #6 Get rid of affixes and Make dungeons more interesting as a whole. Different Damage patterns P. No one likes affixes and they very much hurt the healer gameplay. Nearly every pug through mechanic on healer if possible. S. Remove it. Make dungeons more interesting with unique encounters more interesting like raids. Making different types of damage and styles makes it less about mechanics and more about playing a class efficiently. #7 Let the healing scale as difficulty increases, P. there is no additional damage for the healer to heal in the current iteration unless the group just fails mechanic checks for example not using defensives or not kicking. in lot of times it results in instant death. S. Remove some of the tanks ability to self-heal, Return rot Damage Patterns, and Increase Player hp for all specs. Let the healer decide how much healing is needed before someone dies. Ghuun healing is a great example of player agency in the healing role. The goal is to make it less about 1 shot and more about play efficiency throughout the run. overall I know a lot of these points will not be everyone's favorite but i do believe a healer should enjoy M+ and to do that a lot things have to change to get there. I would like to see healers Healing 65% of the time, Dpsing 25% of the time, 10% of the time dealing with Dispells, Mana Management, CC.

Healing will continue to suck whilst we can top HP so fast that mechanics need to be 1-shot or near 1-shot. Healing will continue to suck whilst affixes remain healer intensive. Afflicted needs to join explosive and become an archived affix. In single fights as actual mechanics they are fine. As random constantly spawning interactions that overlap with planned mechanics, they are poor.

I think healing a lot is nice and I enjoy the checks but going from an hpally rework was amazing. It felt perfect and blizzard should bring healers up not nerf a class by attacking its playstyle especially when it’s perfect. Do you think hpally would still be a monopoly if it was up against S1 pres, current disc , current rdruid and mw pre nerf? M+ only needs one healer and as long as blizzard keeps the same energy with 3 being super strong. Rio first page has 3 healers represented and I think continuing they should continue this. People talk about the affix issue (I understand) but also mention being a support class. Wouldn’t taking care of affix be considered support? I’m all about removing affixed outside of fort and tyr with the right seasonal affix. On my rsham I’m only 3.6 and cannot get into any groups to push but with mixing trinkets and talents allow me to get through specific dungeons which I enjoy.

I think healers should be directed more into supports ... something like Aumentation Evoker is right now, or how blessing of seasons feel with hPaladin ... Instead of dealing damage, we would buff the group, provide them with heals and CC. IF we should deal damage tho ... and M+ is a timed content after all, the rotations should be somewhat simpler, like mistweaver or shaman. Remember old disco priest? Holy shit, what are we? ... pianists? or cat weaving with rdruid ... i mean sure, its fun, but its too much when you consider what else we have to take care of. Mana should be indeed removed or Blizz should do way more to balance it better.. Also if they are doing something about affixes, it should not punish healer as much as it currently does. We have to deal with literally everything except for sanguine (except when youre playing monk or druid), bolstering and raging. Also you forgot one very important part ... and thats control, ppl dont kick or stun or w/e to help out ... when a bolt goes through on +25 fortified ... youre dead and healer cant do anything. Same goes for personal defensive cooldowns ... so many deaths due to not using it ... Still so much fun, but kinda frustrating

Healing is very boring right now. Healers should not contribute to dps. The spike one shot damage is crazy.mana is a bit of an issue sometimes, It should be fun as pugs or coordinated groups. I am a healer because I want to heal. Thus I prefer healing checks more than dpsing. But more general regarding affixes ... They should be more rewarding instead of punishing. Maybe they should be personal rewards. It would be more fun and every role in a group would be more motivated to deal with them. But this would be a different Blizzard ... they are more focussed on f+cking players for bad gamplay than rewarding for good gameplay. It could be so easy ....

Truthfully, I think healing has been really fun in dragonflight, overall. Season 2 kinda sucked, though, but they just went too overboard nerfing healers that season without changing how damage was dealt to players in dungeons. I like the increased demands when playing a healer. I generally feel like if you opt into the healer or tank role then more should be expected of you and that's a healthy thing for the game. I do think that poor affix design and disparity between different healer specs has created a lot of stress because you get a lot of different situations where 2/3rds of the healers can't deal with certain mechanics well, or they can't deal with overlapping mechanics and affixes because their group either cannot or will not help them with affixes while taking lethal boss AoE and it's extremely frustrating, but these aren't general healing issues in my mind, but more so problems with class tuning & design and how affixes work in m+. Mana falls into class design as well. I do think mana management is partially an area for skill expression, however, I also think every healer should have effective ways to regenerate or extend their mana bar and Mana Tea is the benchmark the rest of the classes should be aiming for design wise rather than people seeing Mana Tea as being over powered. I do not agree with certain statements Blizzard has made regarding mana where they imply that there are times where healers just shouldn't be hitting their buttons to avoid spending mana. That is just wrong, every player should be aiming to always be doing something. Their views on mana come from a time where players had agency over various ranks of the same spell for differing mana costs and the game doesn't work that way anymore but they talk about mana as though it does. I wish they'd actually experiment with m+ in s4. I feel like so many people got confused looking at their post and chart of the key level squish and got the feeling they were doing more than they actually are with m+ next season. There's virtually no change to m+. You'll only have 1 rotating affix outside of what would be a 20 currently, and that's about the only impactful change they're making. It's a positive change, but so incredibly minor.

I have been playing resto druid since 2005. Completed most of the content and seasons in the highest possible difficulity. In this season, I stopped playing healer and my off spec tank. The reason is that the game has became stressful instead of fun. You have to dps, interrupt, do affixes, heal and keep everyone alive. I'm expecting soon Blizz will add tanking to healers as well. I will not be suprised. Addition to that, ppl never interrupt anything, stay in shit and die, unable to pass dps check and you very often come accross with boosted ppl who have no idea. And they all blame you. The fault is always on healer's shoulders. Man, dps is good. It is fun. I dont care who dies anymore. If this continue like this, we'll be looking for a healer for the group for a long time. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying thats hard, its stressful. Unnecessarry stressful. Not everyone has equal responsibility. Which is not fun.

S3 healing isn't much better than S2. Higher keys are ridicolously taxing on a healer, while extremely skilled players can avoid and offheal so much that they can get away with healerless comps in +30s... this shows something is really broken. Most affixes must be handled or compensated by healers and this has been a problem FOREVER since m+ exists. Blizz just doesn't seem to care. Surely they have tuned it, for example grievous, the worst affix ever has been removed. But it's still not enough, I want to see affixes that debuff DPS if they don't handle it.

M+ in this game is only about 1 thing: Defensives I hate this and I think it's outrageous. I don't think in any shape or form should blizzard leave the health bars to any player other than the healer. healing someone from 0 to top should only take 1 or 2 globals, healers need insane buffs if this is gonna be the case. right now if the dps is not pressing perfectly timed defensives they will not pass anything beyond a +26. and if you are the best healer in the world, keeping those dps players at 100% HP (even all the time) doesn't do anything since every mechanic has become "use defensive or get one shot" my wish list is: 1- Buff healers insanely so every healer can heal anything easily whatsoever. 2- stop one shots, no one really enjoys it. at least give healers so much more externals like pain sup & Barrier. we should be able to prevent one shots "all the time". stop leaving health bars to others, it's our job to make sure no one dies so give us the tools. 3- healer dps should matter way more than this, there are healers who enjoy doing high damage. people who say if I wanted to dps I played dps are boring. why should our perfectly executed dps rotation do this pathetic damage? It's not gonna be mandatory but if you are optimizing your dps as a healer, you should at least be able to provide as much as a tank does.

This may be a terrible idea and I'm sure someone will tell me if it is.... What if Blizzard could make affixes that ONLY certain roles could actually deal with effectively? Hear me out... What if maybe there was a healers specific affix that say, only a heal over time ability could deal with and it would only work if it was applied by the person with the healer role? Or a tank affix where they needed to use a cd at a precise moment (give or take) or they just get one shot even on lower keys? I can't really think of anything remotely coherent for a dps specific affix, but I think I've made my point. These are just half thrown together ideas, but I think it would take some of the pressure off healing if there were affixes that they just COULDN'T deal with.

I feel that your view is based on how the game has progressed over the years. I feel that blizzard has stepped away from the roots of what the game was by allowing add-ons to infect the game. Because the more mental load without add-ons, makes the game harder in turn things would start to become more relevant. Back to the Manta being irrelevant I feel that some classes have always had no man of problems and some classes struggled with Manna. Maybe they should think about a system for mana regeneration. I also believe that healers should DPS when not healing but the way the game is set up you have to make the choice between do I use this cool down for DPS or for healing

I think its cool to be able to also do some decent dps as a heal, but it shouldnt be insanely high. IMHO it needs to be enough to get to open world without being stuck at a basic mob for 1-2min but you dont need 100s of dps to do that. and if there is nothing to heal, no mechanic to play, no useful movement to get through,... then yes, also healers should press their dmg buttons instead of brain-afking. it is true! it isnt your job. but if you go that way, it is also not the job of a dps to use a healing potion, because he is dps and not heal. so act as a team and do whatever you can! personally i think dps shouldnt be THE major point, as blizz already fails balancing dps OR hps. we shouldnt make them try both at the same time, as this is just a 3rd world indie studio which works 100% probono and therefor just doesnt have the ressources.

The biggest issue with healing is that it's a regressive role. The worse your group is the more difficult it is to be a healer, the better your group is the easier it is to be a healer. Blizzard needs to take the healing role and redirect it away from the holy trinity Tank > DPS > Heal roles and moreso rebrand as Tank > DPS > Support, where healers are doing essentially moreso what Augmentation evokers do. They use dps to keep up buffs on the party and make them tankier and do more dps. Maybe some healing of rot damage on the side as well. Right now you have barely anything to do as a healer (healing wise) in higher keys until all of a sudden the heal checks go from 0 - 100 in 0.2 seconds. Take EB for example, it's a tank dungeon until the last boss where the heal check requirement suddenly skyrockets to the point where it's dubbed the heal-carry boss.
