United will move on. As talented as Mase is, you can’t risk dividing the dressing room and fan base by bringing him back. Ten Hag has them in a great place and the potential blowout is too costly for them.
As an opposition fan, I can't see why United would want him back. Your club is in a good place at the moment and building momentum. I think bringing him back is the last thing you want to do. Will just attract unncessary drama and not sure if you want this associated with your club long term if he stays.

@@LovelyFishyFish yea I agree. We should believe wahmen and change the laws so men are guilty until proven innocent. You for example have necrophiliac tendencies that you've acted on. Now prove you're innocent. I'll wait.
Some fans are stupid enough to think that a lack of conviction means innocence, especially in a case about SA. There are literally videos of him assaulting her
You obviously don't think the law is important, but under the law Greenwood is as innocent as you or I. If you're not happy with that, maybe you should run for parliament and change the law so that it's enough to be charged with a crime to be found guilty. That would do away with the need for those pesky trials.
Hi Mark as a former detective if you talk about this again please could you mention the shocking rates of sentencing in domestic violence cases when you talk about the 'grey area'. It's really difficult to get a conviction in these sort of cases. Hence many woman feel they can't come forward to court.
@@domwoodall3920 he was repeatably breaking his bail conditions as well as her father forcing her to drop charges....both him and her father should be locked up. Huge failure on the police part as they knew he was breaking bail conditions and did squat about it.
Not a good idea, we all know he's not innocent, the charges were simply dropped after the victim pulled out her testimony. Greenwood isn't exactly needed at this point for United play-wise anyway, so bringing him back would be nothing but a huge PR headache. Besides, after seeing how Ten Hag has dealt with players so far, I doubt he'd want someone like that back in the squad to put a cloud over the dressing room again
Well according to law, he is innocent and it’s hard to say he isn’t innocent when the victim wasn’t able to show enough prove. The dates of any of those indigents that were shown were all screwed up to begin with.
She would probably get more money from winning the case My issue is what is the new evidence the cps found And also by the law he is innocent Oh he did not go to court So what do you call a man that is not convicted of a crime Scenario: the case of the missing slice of pizza nobody says anything nobody is guilty or innocent
The thing for me is he never actually went to court. If he was proved innocent at court I might be more open to him coming back and I know it’s incredibly hard to prosecute famous sports players but even so I’m not sure why it didn’t go to court
It didn’t go to court because the prosecution decided there was no chance of a guilty verdict. Greenwood should be allowed to pick his career up where he left off.
it didn't go to court because the victim went back to greenwood(very common for abuse victims to go back to abuser) and dropped the case, he wasn't allowed to contact the victim under bail conditions yet police ignored it.
One of Erik's main achievements has been to stabilize the dressing room and bring in people of good character who won't cause scandals or issues. I really can't see him tolerating the potential disruption from bringing him back. It's too risky and there's really no need for United to gamble like that. After all, he isn't the last striker on earth. I think the investigation is purely an attempt to get rid of him without paying him off and that the decision has already been made that he can't play again.
You don't even know what Greenwood is like now, or what his teammates think of him. What if that girl come about to say she's forgiven his behavior and urge people to give him a second chance

if you have a mother, a sister, a daughter then youre position should be he never plays football again. The recordings are shocking and to hear someone abuse someone like that is shocking

Some players in the dressing room had massive opinions on this so it would just be a huge problem for eth and could divide the dressing room it just can’t happen even if we could do with another forward it’s not worth it massive distraction to the team
Doesn't matter if Utd are top of the league or bottom. The issue is whether an "innocent" man deserves his job back as he was not in breach of his contract or if the public has seen enough to make a majority decision..
No chance, if it was anyone else in the 'real world' we would get the book thrown at us. Footballers feel like they can do what they want, when they want and its absolutely disgusting. He has the money and backing to get away with what he wants, he can throw money at the problem and it miraculously vanishes. How many footballers imposed 'super injunctions' to stop people talking about potential mistress's or affairs?
Not sure if it’s as much about money as it is them getting back together (not confirmed). We all saw how obsessed her dad was with Mason Greenwood as well, so it could be a multitude of things, not excluding money.
@Marcus Larson, I think it is a combination of all of the above...The dad drives an Aston Martin to wonder where that came from. ALSO, THE Dad came out after the videos were posted saying "Well, her phone was hacked, we as a family stand by Greenwood". What father after seeing and hearing that says that chit??? Next threats to her life from the public and some disgusting people. Then you have to take into account why would a man take back a woman who accused him of rape? Isn't it more likely the victim went back to the attacker? Like many Abuse cases... Now taking all this into account if Manchester United take him back and he kills her then what?
Why did it take this long He already had the money The girls family is well off They don't need GW money or did we forget her profession They broke up before this fiasco right They are back together Case dropped Make it make sense
I had a guy in my class growing up, everyone hated him. Mixed kid, was class clown etc. last year of school he hooked up with a girl. She claimed rape and that he drugged her. Went though the court, was dropped about a year later. She said she wanted attention and it was a lie. Changed that innocent man’s life forever. I think it’s the same here

@@KaitoMinato the reason the case against Greenwood collapsed wasn’t because the evidence was sketchy, it was because the witness who would have corroborated that evidence dropped out.
United as a community and as an organisation played her part by letting Greenwood go and clear himself in the Judicial system. manchester united is finally starting to get back to where we belong, i feel the squad dont need anything negative surrounding there ascent , we have enough baggage as it is
The charges were dropped by the CPS, not the victim. That means they don’t have enough admissible evidence to prosecute (that infamous recording would not be admissible in court). Therefore, they can’t prove it. This does not mean he’s innocent…we all heard that tape. He should never play for Utd again.
Personally I think for the image of united and for the world to see that such disgusting behavior will not be tolerated. They should just release him.. if they don't take any serious action, players will think they can get away with nonsense like that. The whole world has to know football has a strong stance on such things. Let him go so that people around the world will know united is a place of standards and ethics..
Impossible for me to condemn Greenwood. I don’t know much about the case. I’ve suffered false allegations by a woman, myself. I know about their dark side. The legal proceedings did nothing to illuminate the case. If there’s doubt, you can’t convict. Or condemn. The guys a football player. Let him play football.

Courts do not proceed to hear matters unless the evidence and witnesses are able to establish a reasonable basis for possible prosecution. The matter was never heard in court, no judgement was handed down. If the prosecution were not able to present a reasonable case after well over a year, obviously the charges were unsubstantiated and therefore, inder the law, Greenwood was never found guilty of the charges. If there was positive evidence the matter would have proceeded in court. Trial by media and assumption is despicable
Just because he hasn’t broken the law, doesn’t mean he should keep his job. If anyone conducted themselves in the way he has, they would be fired Immediately from their jobs. Just because he’s a footballer it shouldn’t be any different. It would be a terrible look for united if he carried on playing for them.

Employment Law has a test of Reasonable Belief. Criminal Law has a test of Beyond Reasonable Doubt. The CPS finally decided they’d never meet the test of criminal law in court. The employer now has to decide if they have a reasonable belief that Greenwood behaved in a way that would wreck their reputation, breaches their values, policies and principles. On that basis they will let him go. Greenwood is entitled to deal with the issues and live his life which needs to include playing professional football. It’s all down to him to rehabilitate himself and I hope he can.

Because there are far higher profile people with expensive lawyers that evade justice when accused of terrible things.
