Cartels, drugs, money, corruption-author and award winning journalist Ioan Grillo has seen it all in his twenty-plus years' of covering Latin America. In this episode, we cover the unprecedented violence that broke out in the city of Culiacán after Mexican authorities recaptured Sinaloa cartel leader Ovidio Guzmán, son of "El Chapo."
Grillo breaks down the inner workings of Mexico's most notorious cartels, their recruitment strategies and growing turf wars. We cover the issues with the US / Mexico border and how fentanyl has revolutionized the drug business while wreaking havoc throughout the country. We'll discuss the question-Should cartels be designated as terrorist organizations? The answer isn't as simple as you might think.

Yup, funny how others think it's an immigration thing. Propaganda hits hard, gringos think illegal immigrants subtract from their economy when in reality they benefit the US economy with cheap labor that can't access social security.
@leekush8297
@leekush8297 Год назад
@@MrE073 Illegal immigration messes up the economy yes, it's part of the plan. If people would only research a little, they'd know what that plan was. There's so many cartel members in America. Sanctuary cities exist for a reason. Borders exist for a reason. There's no other country in the world that accepts illegal immigration, but the U.S. There's reasons and master plans behind all of this. The U.S government wants to flood the country with illegal immigration, but kick out the homeless Americans. It's all to help crash the economy. Us gringos won't exist in the next hundred years and that's been planned at least since 1904. Alot of Americans are on hard drugs now which in return makes them go homeless because they only care about the drugs. The opioid crisis was the pharmacuetical companies then the cartels. Opening the borders allowed those deadly drugs across the borders. Opening the borders allowed millions of undocumented people into America meaning we don't know who snuck in. That's a problem. Refugees are living like kings on food stamps and government assistance. Alot of Americans don't get any assistance. See the problem? Us gringos can't say anything because of our "white privilege" and we're racist if we do. Us gringos are the most stubborn of the slaves. Don't believe me? Believe the Elite Jews and read the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. They got everyone hating whitey for a reason.

@@leekush8297 false, the elite doesn't need immigration to break the US economy, they could just raise interest rates 20 points and be done with it if that was their objective, it isn't tho. And no, illegal immigrants make the US economy bigger, not smaller, they're exploited as cheap labor with no social security.
@leekush8297
@leekush8297 Год назад
@@MrE073 No, you don't get it. The Elite of the Elite HATE white people. Illegal immigration decreases the white population. If what you say is true, the big corporations wouldn't be across seas. They'd just stay here and exploit Mexicans and illegal immigrants. That's not the case though. The cartels are so bad in Mexico to drive the people into America for one main reason. It's the same reason Obama bombed all those innocent countries and created millions of refugees. It's the same thing. Everything that's happening all over the world has one big agenda behind it. Biden was put into office to finish what Obama couldn't. When a race war civil war happens, and it will, who do you think is winning? White people or everybody else? lol It's not going to be white people. They need civil war because too many people are waking up to the bullshit. White people are demonized for a reason. We're the glue holding this insane society together. They need a civil war or another World War or both and from the looks of it, both will probably happen. According to the elitists, white people are the biggest problem because white people are the most stubborn Goyim. That's their words not mine.

I believe the answer lies somewhere in what he was saying. The cartels have a ridiculous amount of clout and pull in Mexico. It’s similar to what the mob was doing in New York from the ‘20s all the way to the ‘80s. The difference is the cartels are quite a bit more tribal and barbaric in their delivery. They act as wards when it comes to small towns and buy the favor of the locals. But they’re the ‘law’ at that point, and you don’t say no to these guys. They’re an infection, and it all comes down to how Mexico is fundamentally structured by law and their Constitution. No middle class. No right to bear arms (they do but not really). The government literally owns everything, so becoming an animal or a crook is the only way to attain wealth (outside of becoming a doctor or lawyer maybe). Which NOW, makes it a cultural issue at that point, I feel. This is the normal. This is “life” for everyday Mexican citizens.

@@twinstar2566 I believe that there are powers that be whom are in place, that want to keep that from happening because doing so would narrow the focus to a choke-point. Once that happens, if ever (personally I hope so, one day), that will require full discipline and intelligence efforts to understanding the enemy. And the enemy…is basically Mexico. As horrible as that sounds, it’s just the truth. There was a Mexican general 2 years ago that got arrested on federal drug charges, and his U.S. charges got dropped. Case was passed over to Mexico to handle. Name is Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda. That kinda shit happens all the time over there. See where I’m going? In order to fix the problem, you have to fundamentally change Mexico. That doesn’t happen overnight. My two cents.

Depends on the drug really, alcohol is responsible for thousands of deaths every year and we don't ban it because we learned our lesson with prohibition, why the same tought process can't be expanded to other drugs is really baffling for me. The government is increasing the barrier for entry for drug sales making the drug sales even more profitable - they are directly enriching the cartels. We should decriminalie or even legalize a large portion of drugs.
@LosianOne
@LosianOne Год назад
@@maurycy4735 yes and no. Chinese chemists have been brought in (with all the ingredients from China btw) and shown the cartels how to make fentanyl. They are the reason fentanyl is killing so many people right now. I think Decriminalization could only be for users and could only happen if users could be forced into rehab, which could only happen if we fixed our Healthcare system. Even then hard drugs should never be legalized, I'm fine with psychedelics and obviously cannabis but opoids, cocaine, benzos etc I'm firmly against. Let me ask you this, are you okay allowing people to commit suicide? Hard drugs are the same as committing suicide both literally amd metaphorically. P.s. Here’s what everyone is missing: if the US labels the cartels as terrorist organizations, that will open up the flood gates for Mexican “refugees”. The Geneva Convention would allow them to legally enter the US border and they would be granted asylum and provided with shelter and such. As much as Democrats and Republicans fight over border security, neither party can afford to roll the dice with the Mexican voting demographic. That’s not even getting into the amount of narcos that already live within the US border and the possibility of violent recourse they would unleash on citizens, public officials, politicians, etc. So naturally, neither party would ever consider the Terrorist label because of the baggage that comes along with it.

@fubarexress6359

No it is not very easy to fix it. Sorry your dead wrong. The cartels are DEEPLY inbeded in America. Specially California and texas as well as other states. Their HEAVILY armed and also have a lot of public officials and law enforcement on their payroll. Plus they use laws that protect them to their advantage. Couple that in witn tbe fact they will SLAUGHTER families of agents or ANYONE who crosses them plus they have nearly unlimited funding. It's such a massive undertaking. The blood shed would be insane, many innocent lives would be lost. It would lead to a legit war faught on American soil. And it would eventually lead to them retaliating on Mexico as well potentially causing an all out war in Mexico. So to conclude, far from simple. Had it been addressed quickly years ago when it started becoming a problem it would have been a simpler solution.

When he says it won’t solve the problem but I think it would definitely solve many “symptoms” they cause as a “disease” to this part of the world. Definitely would make recruiting for the cartels a lot harder, because I don’t know if the cartels are aware but the IS military has had quite lot of practice and experience with insurgent groups for the past 20+ years. Now there’s not a giant ocean to transport all these units to but rather a very short flight into Mexico and for anyone saying this is just so the US can fight another war, it’s not like Mexico hasn’t been using its military personnel to combat these cartels. Now the US is willing and able to fight and so is the majority of the public for taking action against these cartels.
