PNG doesnt need the NRL. We can emulate the Super league. Groom our own competition by getting the structures into place. We are not as poor as other pacific island nations. We have the resources. Lets look north. Dont worry about Australia. They can keep their NRL
That would be great, although I doubt it can happen. PNG just doesn't have enough money or facilities to have a fully professional league. But it would be a great idea. They could also bring teams from Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
PNG can be 18 th NRL team. You won't know the lemon whether its sweet or sour unless you you taste it so you will know. I beleive PNG can mange to 18 NRL
No Just build up the pacific cup at the end of every year And make them better off for the World Cup Focus on the international part of the game seperate to the national
NRL first needs teams in Perth, Adelaide and Christchurch. PNG still needs to develop their game and then they could have their own NRL team since no foreigner would wanna play there. PNG Hunters should be dominant in Queensland Cup before they could move to NRL and they are no way near there.
It's abit too early for us to speculate and give a yes answer. For now, pump more money and attention to the local footy systems and establish more professional stadiums to boost the games perfomance, and in this way it raises reasonable standards. It is always good to work our heart out via our own style of footy rather than copying or cloning from other rugby league countries. Reading our games at our language and versions. PNGn standard of footy is original and we should maintain it. Otherwise, let's way out different options before entering an NRL competition. I am sure we can do it the PNG way. Just a thought.
I think it should be Perth, I would be surprised if Perth wasn't, considering for years the NRL has been taking games there, double headers, the state of origin etc. I always thought that the NRL was seriously hinting they would be putting a team there. Plus you have the time difference, which is good for television audiences, as they are three hours behind Sydney, so you could have more games at different times.
If is hard for PNG to enter the NRL as the 18th team, PNG can have its through ExxonMobil Digicel cup. Let's just get the skills and knowledge and we can run our own competition. Just like the UK.
We still have a long way to go in PNG. Our sporting infrastructures throughout the country are a mess and our development pathways esp. the juniors are near non-existent. Having a 18th team from PNG will only serve to fulfill certain people's fantasy and not a broader community in my opinion.
Let us develop our own professional competition to be like the super league or qrl competions and make path ways for our home grown talents and also strengthen our national team the kumuls to be competitive in the national scene and prove the aussie critics wrong..we dont need their dollars to be in their competions.
I think PNG & Australia love playing politics. 7 defense from PNG while 7 attacking forwards from Australia. PM 13 at it's best. While the visiting team, CHINA. Stadium, Santos stadium, Port Moresby. 🤣😅😂🇵🇬🇦🇺
That's right, we can manage our own comps through Exon mobile or Digicel cup just like UK. Yes! Rather than trying to get into the NRL. In this way, PNG will grow it's own talent base. Either way, it's good for both the RL it's self & future talent domestically or globally. 👍
