I got a cool pair with sushi on them, one with donuts, and one with bananas, wouldn't wear with formal but they're so fun to wear with some casual boat shoes or slip-ons.
When i worked in a stire where our uniform was a suit(a formal one) It was either blue or black and i was bored so i constantly wore some bright crazy socks That drove my manager NUTS
i used to have a pair of socks with pockets!! i loved them so much so they got holes all over them 💀💀 no more pocket socks, hoping to get more soon tho :3 they were also rainbow so just added coolness. i could fit a couple bucks in the pocket so it was nice :3
@@redgreen2453you don't have to be rich for that, there are soooo many people in your area with a sewing machine that will tailor it for you. And extremely cheap, compared to having it made for your exact size My mom's a seamstress and have a lot of regular clients that go for tailoring and looking their best c:
@@danielamaus Because it’s trendy? And it does look good for a lot of people. White converses or sneakers with black pants are pretty popular right now. You don’t have to like it or wear it, but don’t pretend like everyone thinks it’s ugly.
That can really work. I've seen some socks where they're bi-colour and the main colour matches the suit or shoe and the secondary colour gets matched to the tie or pocket square and it really ties the outfit together.
I like using contrasting colours as socks, like if my pants are black and my shoes are also black, I could use a bold colour like pink or go subtle and go for darker shades like navy blue or maybe even two toned socks.
@@cmike3848 I'm sorry two comments here are as unimmaginative as going pink=gay, says more about them than to you and op and I know you and him are not them, which is what matters (:. Lots of men, straight as much as gay wear pink shirts, some just match the socks! Good fit.
Hi, black with black always works, with other colors like brown I may prefer to not always match but coordinate, generally a darker brown or a more burgundy - purple one.
if you’re too tall, matching socks to shoes is ideal to create separate blocks of color if you’re short and want to elongate silhouette, match socks to pants
Depends on what you want. Shorter guys may want to opt for matching pants to appear longer and taller. I would say that if you want to not match pants or shoes, go for a complimentary color that matches an accessory (pink socks with pink hankerhief)
I sometimes go for option d and match my socks to my tie. Colours like pink, red or yellow can contrast well with a navy suit. Quirky, perhaps, but being English we are known for pushing the sartorial boundaries.
I really like socks that stand in contrast to my pants/shoes, so white with darker shades, or lilac colored, orange socks with darker blue pants... (Especially on special occasions)
I match it with my top: I have this shirt-ish thing in a light bottle green to mint green (indescribable colour) and I wear it with black trousers and the same green-coloured socks. Works every time
My husband wears socks with pizza slices or squirrels or corgis on them, he usually tries to match the socks to the theme of the event we’re attending 😂
i always wear the silliest socks i can. i only wear fun socks (ie: foxes wearing socks socks, studio ghibli themed socks, pokémon themed socks, rubber duck socks, and so much more) in general and i love wearing stupid socks to formal events to assert my dominance
Honestly I tend to wear more dress pants without a suit coat, and so I like to bring in more color and match my socks to my tie. I like how it brings the fit together.
its fine to wear formal clothing with funny socks if you are going somewhere nice. But if the invitation says "Formal attire" then wear it properly unless you just want to be disrespiectful. The only reason I think it is fine to break the fashion rules is if you can't afford to wear the requested style.
Thanks for answering this. My son in law to be has bought a wonderful blue suit for his wedding and he's teaming it with some wonderful Italian tan shoes and belt....we couldn't agree on the sock colour 😂
I match my shoes to my belt, and coordinate my socks to my shirt. I do enjoy wearing white socks as well as striped “fun socks”. Socks are like pocket squares- you can have a bit of fun
Perfectly formal I like to match to the shoes if they're black, or match to the suit if it's a grey suit or something, but slightly less formal there's always the option of those dual colour socks so you can accent the colour to a colour found in your tie or pocket square. When going casual I find some odd colour really pops.
I *Love* the pink socks - that would grab my attention, I love a masculine person who’s not afraid to show their personality & some flair through fashion. 🩷🙏🏽🙌🏽😊
yeah as others have said, if your pants are ankle cut and wearing loafers so you can see a lot of sock, then match it with your tie for the ultimate power move
