In my opinion, no. All people who want to drive must learn to drive. Learn to steer, learn manoeuvres, lane discipline, not to hesitate, being observant, spotting hazards and planning ahead Then get a Tesla with these cool features
I think passing driving test on tesla and then getting drivers license with ability to drive usual manual car should be illegal (lack of different skills such as parking, cautions, etc. is dangerous).
It is allowed because the highway code says nothing for or against it and DVLA have not said anything against it, and are probably scared to decide on it for now. Same as rev-matching. It's allowed even though it makes gear shifting as easy as automatic cars and defeats the purpose of manual cars, oh well.
All cars slow down by lifting off the throttle. Definitely not aloud auto steel on test . If they event a feature that stops close passes when there is all the room in the world to use on the other side of the road. Until then I'll stick to dinosaur technology that I can control
