No one was more caught off guard by the Dallas Cowboys' playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers than owner Jerry Jones. He took time to express his concerns with the Cowboys in a recent interview, but the elephant in the room remains Mike McCarthy’s future as head coach. From one Cowboy fan to another, its going to get worse. The money being paid to Dak, Zeke, Dlaw, and Coop is about $95m/year, which is over 1/3 of the cap, and means we aren’t going to be able to sign young talent coming off rookie contracts, like Pollard and Gallop. They are going to have to cut Zeke. Unfortunately we’re stuck with Dak

I don't think Quinn is a HC. Some people just aren't good HCs. Nothing wrong with that. I always point to Wade Phillips. If you list the greatest DCs of all time it doesn't take long to get to his name. He's one of the best ever. As a HC he was terrible and I'm being kind. Quinn is a pretty good DC and a pretty bad HC. Skip better be careful what he asks for he just might get it. Skip loved McCarthy once too:)

Replacing Mike McCarthy with the guy who was up 28-3 in the Super Bowl would be such a Cowboys thing to do. Meanwhile, Jim Caldwell, who took the friggen LIONS to the playoffs 2/3 years, (and went to a Super Bowl with Peyton, and won a SB as OC for Baltimore in 2012) isn’t even a coordinator.

Shannon is absolutely right about people inflating expectations on cowboys this season.. They got better, they took several steps forward, but when you're coming from where they were you still need time for it to all come together. Dan Quinn is a great defensive coordinator but an average head coach. Once Shanahan left as the Falcons offensive coordinator the falcons for the head coaching job at San Francisco the Falcons became mediocre again. So the thing is Quinn will have to have a strong offensive coordinator coach in order for him to succeed as a head coach. Side note just found out Sean Payton is not going back to the Saints. That’s the coach the Cowboys should want.

Defense wins championships buddy. Look at most of the Patriots championships. GREAT DEFENSE. 2000 ravens GREAT DEFENSE 2012 ravens GREAT DEFENSE Steelers are historically known as the steel curtain for a reason. RELENTLESS DEFENSE. The 2 superbowls won by the giants over the Patriots GREAR DEFENSE. 2015 Broncos GREAT DEFENSE EVEN THE 2016-17 Patriots DEFENSE had to pitch a SHUTOUT in the 2nd half of that Super Bowl for the team to comeback. And they didn’t give up all 28 pts since Brady threw a pick 6 in that game. Why did the 49ers just beat the packers? DEFENSE! Last years Buccaneers won because of what? GREAT DEFENSE. They took the ball away 4 times from the saints offense and then HAD TO OVERCOME 3 INTs from Tom Brady to beat the packer in the NFC championship game. THEN THEY WENT ON TO HOLD ONE OF THE GREATEST OFFENSES EVER TO 9 POINTS. 9 points!!!!! The KC Chiefs historically great offense was held to 9 pts. You know what does that a GREAT DEFENSE. Do you need more examples?

The man does have 6 Super Bowl rings and don’t say it was all Tom Brady because Brady didn’t hold the greatest show on turf to 17 points (defensive masterpiece) and he didn’t hold the hole scoring offense of the 2018-19 Rams to 3 points in the Super Bowl.

In my opinion. If Mike stays as the HC. I think Quinn will stay. Not for Mike or Jerry. I think he stays for Parsons. This a young guy I can build around. Even Diggs. Quinn as a great defense. Just a little fixing here and there but overall they are a great young defense.

Hiring Dan Quinn for me is a huge mistake for any team right now, I do not think there has been enough time on him to reflect on his failures in Atlanta. On the other hand losing Dan Quinn would be a huge mistake for Dallas because I think he is the energetic tough man on the other side of the ball that Dallas needs.

Quinn doesn't want the pressure and visibility of a head coach again, not now at least. As a GA native and lifelong Falcons fan, I'll say this - Quinn doesn't have that "it" factor that most NFL head coaches possess. Go watch some of his interviews as the Falcons head coach - he hates being in the spotlight and he is terribly uncomfortable - it's damn near hard to watch. Now I understand he is a "players' coach," which IS IMPORTANT, and a good DC, but head coach? I never bought it. Quinn's success in ATL was tied to Kyle Shanahan as the OC. When Kyle left, it was a slow roll downhill to where ATL finds itself today - in the gutter. And here's the thing - Quinn knows it and he is in no hurry to be there again.

I've been looking for undisputed to talk about the bengals taking down the titans. Been looking everywhere for it. Can't find one video. Just the same stupid talk about Patrick Mahone vs Josh Allen or what Jerry Jones might do about Quinn. Not one word about the bengals. Talk about LeBron or Jordan being the goat or whether Brady is the goat after talking about the team's currently in the championship games. Guess I'll start watching someone else and tune in only when I want to hear goat talk or about a football team that got bounced in the first rounds coaching struggles.

Dan Quinn unfortunately has the stench of "28-3" in his resume. In the end, it's best to keep Mike McCarthy for one more year until they can make a deal with Sean Payton. That's up to Jerry and his organization. Kind of stupid to let go of a Super Bowl winning coach who led you to the division title and 12 wins, regardless of who he is. Any other team would be happy. Jerry should decide what is best for the team, not what's best for fools like Skip Bayless.

I somewhat agree with Shannon but in my opinion something major is being missed. McCarthy shows no promise in improving at all. The penalties and lack of clock management is terrible and that is a very big part of this teams makeup. Also the lack of creativity on offense and the HC has to approve of it. Also not having the team ready in big time games. But the ULTIMATE PROBLEM IS JERRY

Skip, whose defense was it in those losses? The ones were they fell behind? You blame the offense but isn't it the defenses job to keep the opponent from scoring?
