Definitely. This man was part of a very dangerous gang. Why all the people gathered at the Old Bailey. The family should be ashamed of their family members, especially as he has been in trouble since he was 13.
But apparently police were not using info .if that were so and this was just an incident out of blue the video shows then this would be rough police challenge BUT court shows criminal history of crimes from childhood SO knew wasn't simply a member of society being challenged.
@@joprocter4573 As I understand it this was about the car. Not Kaba. They didn't know he was driving it. The police were actively looking for the Audi which was linked to recent shooting. That was the info they had. Armed officers were in unmarked cars in the area where they would be most likely to spot it. Which, of course, they did. They followed it - while getting a decision on what to do and while the other vehicles required to do it were getting in position - a coordinated effort to force the vehicle to stop (in a narrow street) and 'extract' the driver. Kaba knew he was being followed. He called his girlfriend to tell her - so had just as much time to work out what HIS tactics would be.
@@invisible123-l9d Sorry? Mr Kaba's history was not revealed in court. The judge ruled against that early on. It's only afterward that his record has been made known to the public. Including footage of him shooting another gang member in the leg, just days before he died.
I was in a public box in a court in Croydon .The defendants family were in the next box .They were shouting and cheering when the defense barrister made a point .The judge looked up ,looked uncomfortable, and looked down without saying a word . They were a black family .
Chantelle was a TRAINEE police officer who served for 18 Months. Police Training/Probation before being confirmed in the lowest Rank of Constable is 24 Months long. This shows.
So in reality, she failed as a police officer, no doubt with a chip on her shoulder. No deciding to try and be relevant, by using her race in a negative manner.
She had no argument, tried to rely purely on emotionally swaying people. "Shooting black people" "cozens & Carrick" They had intelligence the car had been involved in shootings, the suspect in the car tried to ram the police, the office reacted & fired once, unfortunately was fatal. Where were Kabas family, when he was shooting others??
Because people have rights and people who are aware of the corruption as fed up with it and I don't blame people for running away from corruption, after all, your implying guilty until proven innocent.... So you must have something to hide in that case....
Miss Lunt keeps claiming that Azelle Rodney was “unarmed” Well, had he been arrested rather than shot, he would have been charged with possession of a firearm [amongst other charges]. He was without doubt, armed. Her limited experience [18 months] is apparent
This officer should have never been charged, but new laws won't change that. He was already protected by law, charges were brought anyway. The law should not be laxened nor tightened, it is what it has been for centuries and its fair for defendants and the protection of the public alike. The law is: (1) honest belief of imminent danger, and (2) reasonable force for the circumstances as honestly believed to be. I do think there is an argument for anonymity but I could also argue against that.
What a credit to the black community you are and I echoe what she said. We are all one community. A community called human kind. We all have the same blood in our veins and breathe the same air. But we all make different choices. He made a choice that night. He made the choice not to stop and follow orders by the armed officers. The officers have to get between that car and the public. That’s their job. Like they did in the London Bridge attack. Like they did at borough market. Like Andrew Harper tried to do the night he tried to arrest suspects for burglary. He approached a vehicle and was then dragged to his death. Very similarly in the circumstance. The car didn’t move a tiny bit. It moved some considerable distance before crashing into the police car. This could’ve dragged any of the police officers with it. There is no let him smash his way out. Where would we stand then if he then made off, failed to stop and crashed and killed a member of public. How would the police look then.
Chantelle is an inexperienced police officer who had no argument, I guarantee she would've done the same thing in that situation. Also, nothing was mentioned about race until she brought it up - nice try there. Tony Long should have been cleared years ago
That ex PC Chantelle Lunt, was running her gums off about black people being victimised and making it about race. Fair play to that ex firearms officer. At no point was the topic of race mentioned until she decided to add that, showing her true BLM activist stance, and then trying to be condescending towards the ex-firearms officer by saying that race was significant in the matter all of a sudden. I bet she was a two-bit PC, a complete liability who waved the race card around constantly instead of doing her job. And uses that 'ex PC' title as some form of authority in the matter. What if it had been a black officer who had shot Kaba under the same circumstances? Would she have come out of the woodwork? Of course not.
Yes,it should be.If police ask you to do something you do it and ask questions after. It is reason police has got guns, what a point of that if thay will be afraid to use them.
The problem is that the plodcam footage was not shown at the time. Once you see the video its a clear legal shot. Lives were endangered by his actions.
15:47 there's should be nothing to do with race. Stop playing that race card. Black, white, asian, Kurdish, British, Albanian, Nigerian, Lithuanian - doesn't matter, police should do their job without fear. Police is risking their lives for public safety. Let them follow training without doubt and intrusive thoughts that can potentially cost them health or life.
Every firearms carrying officer in England and Wales has had demonstrated to them what awaits should they pull the trigger, irrespective of the reasons. Grip the rail, go before the lottery of a jury trial, have your own and your families security compromised by the judiciary, have the likes of Kaba’s fellow criminals coming after you with murderous intent, face civil proceedings where your every thought and action over a few seconds of often chaotic events are picked over by a tribunal in an air conditioned office with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight. Face a hostile press unsupported by your senior leadership, unable to challenge the ‘other side’s’ narrative such as choirboy on his way to evensong, his criminal antecedents suppressed to suit a narrative. So, in this scenario which we’ve just actually seen play out before us, who honestly would be a firearms officer?
Its NOT reasonable for some one to end up in court if a life is taken. Its reasonable to weigh up ALL THE FACTS to then determine if court is appropriate.
If a licenced police officer has a firearm locked and secured in their patrol vehicle, would the female former copper here say that that officer was "armed"? 🤔
Yes. They are taking the ultimate risk AND responsibility. If they’re not protected why should they do it? Then who will protect us from the real bad guys? It’s only dangerous criminals at real risk from armed police - if the odd one gets offed slightly dubiously I honestly find it hard to care.
So frustrating…one police officer who knows what it is like to make a life changing decision on duty; and another who doesn’t. I don’t think race should come into this. We expect the police to act on our behalf and do things, as Tony Long said, that we as the general public are not asked to do. The Police should not be above the law, I agree, but I think they should be afforded some protection for actions made carrying out their duty.
Police should always be held to the same standards as anyone else. They should not be above the law. The guy in this interview shot at someone EIGHT times, with 6 shots hitting them in the face, head, neck and chest. And once again, not holding a weapon.
Ps it’s sad for Chris kaba’s family unfortunately he was a violent dangerous criminal the car was involved in a firearms incident he used his vehicle as a weapon .
The former female cop was useless with a woeful level of basic policing knowledge around use of force. I suspect her career was short lived and spent inside the station safe next to the station cat. I would love to know how many people she arrested for drugs possession but had thrown the drugs away before she caught up to them. Ergo her argument about being armed at the very moment a round is fired is irrelevant. How can she be sat next to Tony Long. I’ll take his advice having been there ta. She is basically advocating that when criminals try to flee then the police don’t use any force to apprehend them and back off in which case what is the point. Ridiculous and inept.
No, there shouldn’t be more protection for police officers, many of them who act with a sense of impunity. They need to be better trained not to create high risk environments for themselves/manage their tempers.
It is very noticeable that the first former police officer was allowed to talk uninterrupted in his first comments. Also he talked for far longer than the other former police officer. In fact she was interrupted TWICE in her first comments. The first police officer interrupted her every single time she tried to talk. I think that is very telling on his character and attitude.
I have no sympathy for Kaba and his supporters.I wish to make that clear. But I know a great deal about firearms training and worked as an armed government officer and later close quartercombat instructor for this country in the Far East for many years, in fact my whole career. The Met armed response unit has a history of questionable shootings going back as far as the eye can see. In my professional view, their training is of poor quality and inadequate; they also select and train many who should not be allowed out with a loaded weapon on the streets of London.
Thanks Chantelle, well said. It feels to me like the police are so used to, arguably, abusing their powers with impunity that just the thought of them being held to account makes ex- police officers coil. It is right that the police, particularly the Met, who has been found to be corrupt by a parliamentary inquiry, be held accountable for their actions. No one deserves to be above the law they are appointed to uphold.
Why are we enfan having this discussion. The law should have protected the firesarms officer, his family, and co - workers. Life is about choices. The criminal chose to be a criminal, and the officer chose to do his job to protect the community and his co-workers.
No there shouldn’t because then you have 2 tier policing in police, which you could successfully argue already exists. I would suggest more training would be more effective then trying to legally cover police public executions
Just wana have qualified immunity like the American police , if you can’t be held accountable for your actions good or bad you shouldn’t be a police officer or any other public service period
Absolutely there should. Every officer deserves to go home to their families safe and well following every shift. Do as your instructed or risk the consequences.
