Yes bro. Thank you. I’m 45 and been a Redskins fan since I was little. At like 5 years old, the reason they became my favorite team was the colors and the formidable Chief White Calf on those helmets. I am not Native American and I am so proud of this legacy. It’s not racist, the fans stand behind it as well as Native Americans, so there shouldn’t have been a change.

Yes! A name of a team is supposed to be feared and respected. As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I’m not sure there was a more feared or respected rival than the “Redskins”! The name was never an object of ridicule, it was always associated with winning Super Bowls, being physical, and excellence!

The logo is gorgeous and was always my favorite growing up. I hate that the franchise and league has done everything to pretend it never existed. Even old Super Bowl highlights have the stupid W logo and not the chief portrait.

Unfortunately there isn't a chance in hell (or hail :)) that it will go back to Redskins. The best case scenario is bringing back the logo and using Warriors. At least we could get the look and feel that we once had and it wouldn't feel like an expansion team anymore.

Growing up in DC I saw this argument rise many many times. Once we got back on the winning track again they’d leave us alone. Sad thing is that even back in the late 60’ when I first heard about it the Indigenous People never come about the name of the team. The name was pressure changed by a few nuts in congress, local politicians, and the use of the woke mob media. Remember the great years with Joe Theismann, John Riggins, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, the smurfs, the hogs, and the countless great memories from this team. The stands were packed with fans cheering for The Washington Redskins. Where all of the fans wrong to support this team with this name? The name changed because of a few nuts that fell from the tree with connections to the media. Sadly canceled for so many that still to this day support this team.

It should be Red Hawks. A RedHawk is a sacred bird in Native American culture. You can use the feathers but can’t kill the bird. There was also a famous warrior of the Sioux named RedHawk who fought with Sitting Bull at Little Big Horn.

The mayor of DC has stated the commanders cannot use the RFK site using redskins as their nickname. There could also be sponsors that would not support redskins, it's all about the money. For that senator from Montana, where was he when the big debate about the nickname redskins was talked about? I live in Va. and I have a redskins license plate but for me it's time to move on, commanders work for me.

"Redskins" is in the dictionary as a slur. It meant "bloody Indian scalps" during a massive genocidal area. Plus, droves of American Indians protested it for longer than 26 years. If they sincerely view it as a slur against their culture, that is enough for change. Not all American Indians take offense to "Redskins", but none of them will get negative impacts from its removal; their culture is larger than a slur!!!! Being named after a tribe would be better than "Redskins". Some examples: Washington Cayuse, Washington Jemez, Washington Pomo, Washington Pueblos. Reply

Yes change the name back I hate the commanders rebrand and do t acknowledge them as the commanders I still call them the redskins and o refuse to go to games or buy merchandise or accept it as a gift even out of principle the whole rebrand was done horribly the name was leaked before the actual announcement Jonathan Allen and Doug Willams announcement of it was awkward because they knew it wouldn’t be accepted the jerseys had no need to be changed the black jerseys I hate the most they look like the diet Steelers when they wear them the logo looks like it was created 30 seconds using clip art on Microsoft word the burgundy in the white jerseys doesn’t match the burgundy in the burgundy and gold jerseys they got the championship years wrong on the crest originally and the name is just a joke in and of its self I suggest people don’t go to games and don’t buy merchandise to force them to change it back
