I have multiple Weber kettles and the SNS kettle. Weber is higher quality but the SNS kettle is more innovative. My SNS kettle is about 3 years old and the legs, shelf, probe port cover, and fan port cover are badly rusted even though it sits under a covered porch next to my Weber kettles which have zero rust.

I have only had my SnS kettles since last summer. I do keep the 22 covered with the SnS cover. There is no rust on that one. The traveler is not covered and there is a little rust on the same areas as your cover.

Great video Johnny! Interesting idea. I have modified all 3 of my Weber kettles to include grate level Tel-Tru thermometer, and I ordered SNS smoke hole port cover and added smoke hole to my Weber kettle that I use as my main smoker. Aside from those 2 things, SNS doesn't come close to a Weber kettle. The spinning grate is nice, but your idea of the bent nose pliers in my grill tool kit makes it easier for me and I love using tools in my grilling sessions. Your videos are my favorite and have amazing honest & practical tips.

I had the Weber 26" with the SNS XL, DNG XL and Easy Spin XL. It was a very good cooker with those products combined. However, the legs on the Weber were not meant to hold all those accessories at once. I'm low with storage space. To simplify things, I sold the 26 with all the accessories and bought a Summit Kamado. The only accessories I have now are the vortex and thermoworks billows, signals and a couple of thermapens. I'm very happy with it and have less accessories taking space in my garage. If the master kettle had come out sooner I probably would have gone with that and have someone make a cajun bandit type extender for it. I think both companies complement each other more than compete against each other, so no deal is needed.

The quality of Weber has gone down in their kettles. Buying used seems to be the way to go nowadays

I have a Weber Performer Deluxe. I love the grill. The one thing I would love for Weber to have is the spinning grate. That is a nice feature. No need to Weber to buy SnS though. Leave them to do their own thing. Just keep innovating as they see fit.

I have both. I cook on the SNS more. I like the thermometer and vent on the same side. Always use the smoke hole and probe port. The Weber seems to have a better paint job or coating though. I would tell Weber don't buy SNS unless they are planning to incorporate the SNS features.

Johnny, great questions. I have no idea about buy quotes or other financial angles BUT I do love what SNS does. I am of the thought that Weber should not buy SNS. If SNS ever shuts down or something closes them, buy the patents The best thing Weber has going for it is that the Kettles are done here in the US. Small parts maybe not, but the bodies and lids are. SNS is manufactured over in China. I do have some SNS Accessories for my Webers, namely the XL SNS for my 26" and Ranch Kettle. There are many small companies out there making genius accessories for the Weber however. Sometimes independent minds just come up with what works. I will never buy an Easy Spin grate for the reason that an Aura Kettlezone grate lives in my 22" kettle. Some people love a cast iron grate and go with a Mallory M1. Weber would hurt themselves trying to buy up every small company. I would prefer they keep production here in the US with the money they are making.

@@Viewtoagrill some are better than others, but It all depends on what you are trying to do. I know folks who still use firebricks to make a dual zone in their kettles, and they will probably never use anything else for the rest of their lives. It's just how the operate. The only Must Have accessory for them is either a good torch or a chimney for lighting the coals. Anything after that is an extra. Fun for sure, but still an extra. Thank you for the vid and the reply.

NOOOOO! Please don't sell out, SNS. After using Weber products for nearly 50 years, I had to deal with their customer service for the first time. It will be my last. Worst customer service ever! SnS, in stark contest, has been great. Plus, I've been using their 22" grill for about 8 months & love the tweaks they've made to the Weber design. They have enabled me to up my game considerably. Plus, the equipment is holding up just fine in the heat & humidity of A New Orleans summer, protected only by the cover they sell.

Hello Mr. Brockman, I was just posing a hypothetical question. You are the first person I have heard saying they had a bad expierence with Weber. What happened?
@wlbrockman
@wlbrockman 13 дней назад
@@Viewtoagrill Like I said, their customer service is a nightmare. It is set up to prevent your ever reaching a person. The phone menu is unbelievably cumbersome and untuitive. After wading through it for literally 45 minutes--having already spent an equal amount of time on-line--I finally reached a representative. I wanted help determining if I could purchase a new kettle because my 16 year old one had begin rusting out in several places, creating several holes. The reps had a very heavy accent & I don't think he ever really understood what I was asking. Eventually, piecing together the information I was able to glean from him, combined with further web research, I concluded their prices for parts & shipping would total just little less than a new grill. I researched SnS and decided to give them a try. The experience was incomprably superior. I sent an email to Weber setting forth dispassionately & in detail my experience. I received a brief, form reply by email. As I also said, I had used Weber charcoal grills since my youth. So I did not make this decision lightly.

Don't see why Weber would buy SnS grills. Couldn't Weber just incorporate any SnS features into their own grills, unless SnS has a patent. Also if SnS sales are less than 5 million a year, they're not hurting Weber financially.
@Viewtoagrill

I think some patents may keep Weber from incorporating some of the changes... but I am not sure. 5 million does not hurt now... but maybe in the future as sales compile.

Great video boss, I think SnS putting out the the charcoal baskets and the new performer kettle is a shot across the bow to Weber. They started off just as a 3rd party company that makes accessories for the Weber Kettle. Now they're actively competing against them. If that 0.3% turns into 2%, 5%, 10%, of lost sales weber would definitely make an offer. And if I'm David Parish (SnS owner) I'd sell to Weber for 20 million and 2% of the sales of all the kettles sold globally once they incorporate those innovative tweaks SnS has made. On an unrelated question, being a Texas man; do you, or have owned a PK Grill and do you have videos with it?

I really don't think it's worth Webber to purchase S&S or any of the other similar products to which Webber makes. I do believe Webber does need to do a better job of continuously be looking for how to improve the products they have by looking at what they're competing companies and customers are doing with their products. I love Webber products but let's be honest they have a terrible history of rolling out new products and seriously being happy with what they provide instead of innovating. I've wondered for years wouldn't it be potentially cool if Webber made a quality built offset with the same construction of the double wall insulated porcelain covered steel that they're Kamado uses? Oh sure it would be expensive but DAMM that would be a amazing product. So no they don't need to buy another company. They need to simply do a better job of creating and making their own products. Great video Jimmy, have a great day 🌤 😂🔥👍
