I love my base model xmr 350 horse, Has lived its life doin burnouts on pavement and log roads, has never busted a belt, nothing has ever gone wrong with it
Sxs sales are dieing as we speak in Canada 3 months ago you could hardly find one now just like the car and truck dealers the yards are packed but they are not selling the coin has flipped big time no more ripping us off with there high prices in another 3 months they will be begging us to come in and buy a sxs atv truck or car 😉
I adjusted the springs on my 2022 XRS SS several times in the first thousand miles due to initial sag and then to experiment with different ride heights front and rear until I found what I liked. Crossovers, too. Since then, it has stayed where I put it. Just over 2000 miles now still riding high. I agree with you. It is a great machine. Can't be beat for the money.
I was a Rzr guy for years. 2021 rzr with ride command did not hold up and it really wasn’t ridden hard. Many issues with electronics and parts all seemed to go at once. Zero company support. Picking up my CanAm in a few days. You can add the tablet holder and buy a cheap android tablet with gos and still run the ride command app. For about $200.
Damn, sorry to hear about your RZR not working out but stoked on your new one! And yeah that’s the route I went down. It’s definitely not as polished and cool as Ride Command but for navigation it’s great!
They are a lot of fun to drive I have the XRS max and love it but in all honesty I think they are was overprice for what they come with . No full doors , no windshield , sucky door handles , no side mirrors . Even lower models like the the sport have amazing good doors with nice handles .
Bought mine brand new in April 2023, I'm not impressed with the build quality with the plastics, but it's super fast and amazing and I absolutely love mine.
That’s a temporary fix, though. That loses plushness and gives a more rigid feel through chattery stuff. Adding more preload isn’t a viable fix for sacked-out springs.
Understand 1” doesn’t matter to 90% of buyers. The upper echelon of riders would swap the springs anyway. To be competitive, you have to build for the 90th percentile. Shock settings are not build quality it’s PDI oversight. Loose fasteners, yeah. The aftermarket industry is HUGE and we should be thankful for them. Again, it’s all about the money.
Just depends on budget and riding conditions! This video should help, though this was before Pro Rs/Turbo Rs were out. Personally I think the Can Am 4 seater is a bit long for my taste, but I’m not a huge fan of 4 seaters in general, personally. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-asxKnEW70cA.html
@@digit975 great thanks!!! I’m a bigger guy so I’m always worried about comfort with the two seaters. Im really digging these overland builds people are building out.
@@BA-xw8nw I too shop in the big and tall section, bought a 22 xrs 4 seater last year, goin from a teryx 4 which is a great unit, i put 34s on it and a bunch of accessories, haven’t had any spring sag, we go to the dunes, river ride, mud, use it to check fences and cattle out in the pasture, it does everything well and can do it more comfortably than a two seater, plus the more the merrier I gotta wife n kid n usually take someone else out, people are amazed at the suspension and power, a ton o fun, no regrets
@@adamwithana8759 exactly what I wanted to hear, a part of me is like you don’t really need a four seater, save money, start small other part is like f that
The set up and loose bolts are from your dealer not doing their diligence when finishing putting it together for delivery. Yes then spring quality is iffy but take your rig in to someone who knows suspension and have the nitrogen levels checked along with spring loads. Most of the ground clearance issues are due to improper spring set up and nitrogen levels. All 4 of my shocks had less than 90psi on the nitrogen filled them to the correct levels all the sag is gone and rides like a sofa now.
You’re right about that ultimately being on the dealer, but their setup doesn’t include stuff like checking clickers and whatnot. They said that is part of Can Am’s final inspection before leaving the factory. The roll cage bolts and that sort of thing were definitely on the dealer so you’re right about that! On the springs note, losing nitrogen is definitely an issue but the springs sacking out is a huge issue for all brands. We are a suspension shop (albeit for dirt bikes) so we did check nitrogen and they’re all four right within spec from Fox. I’m getting springs here soon so it won’t be an issue, just a bit of an annoyance that they don’t come stock with decent quality springs like bikes do. Thanks for the input! I definitely should have mentioned that in the video.
You’re right, it is a ton of money for a toy. But it is a lot of performance and technology for the money as well. And yes, it definitely was a struggle for me to afford as I saved up for years for it. But that said, compare the performance of a stock $30k side by side to any other off road vehicle and you’ll see how good they are for that price. A comparable prerunner truck that’ll handle that well off road is easily north of $100k and custom made.
@@digit975 The old tried and true desert saying "its pay to play" while a comparable prerunner wont run you 100k+ it will run you 40k+ forsure. The big differences are a SXS is a lot more versatile. Snow, mud, desert, they can handle them all where a prerunner will really only excel in 1 area. The other MAJOR difference... maintenance/ease of repairs/and cost of repairs. This is coming from someone who was about to build a 06-13 silverado long travel full cage 4 link coil/bypass each corner everything and the build sheet was adding up quickly. $50k with me doing all welding/fab myself, no engine mods yet, no built rearend or transmission.
Hey sorry for the late reply on this. I ended up going with this Full Throttle FT560 battery and the TMW strap www.utvsource.com/fullriver-battery-ft560-full-throttle-high-performance-agm-battery/?source=google&campaign=PMaxTARGROAS&gclid=CjwKCAjw_YShBhAiEiwAMomsEFTBbr0HLcuXkws1rogfnlKorVCAVDD5uxHrm3wMqnouhvw9ZlF2ehoC_TkQAvD_BwE
I just hope one day they add a screen to the canams. Once I pay mine off I might just get a new Rzr turbo r. Or a new 2023 x rc. Definitely a price difference but I think it equals to all the modifications once you start modifying a canam. Btw I have a 2020 xds 2 seater and the size comparison to my friends pro r 4 is just ridiculous. Mine looks like a toy
Oh yeah comparing a DS to a Pro R is crazy. Supposedly the next Can Am will have something like what’s on their new snowmobiles, in terms of a screen/nav system. SXSGuys on Instagram posted some patent applications they found from Can Am about the new model in 2024 or 2025.
Bottom line can am engine is very reliable 2017 2023 basic same engine Polaris keep changing engines an designs still are very unreliable I have 21k miles yes 21000miles every year border to Cabo on the BAJA 1000 trail no problem
Performance wise, all day. Better power to weight ratio than Pro R, same actual suspension numbers, and pretty similar shocks. Granted the chassis isn’t quite as tough, but it’ll hand with a Pro R all day. But like I said, it’s definitely lacking in terms of creature comforts.
@@digit975 I dont agree I think the Pro R is a totally different category personally. especially when you start modding . I feel if comparing this it should to a 1k machine in the other vendors lineups and then prices are more comparable like the Turbo R then the prices are more in line. I couldnt get over the lack of room imo when driving in the can am and the layed back style seating if riding in tech and woods type situations . Not bashing the brand at all as they have a great motor and many other things.

I bought used 2017 with 2500 miles for $16,500 and the previous owners invested over $20 k. in aftermarket upgrades.. 😂. People are just plain stupid for purchasing a plastic golfcart driven by a rubber band and spending $20 k to make it reliable And another $10k+ to make it safe .. it just doesn't make sense. Y buddy has a 2021 with tons of upgraded parts. I told him if he ever wants to sell for $17k I would buy it. 😂.
The guy below me dead on you had to beg them to find you a side-by-side now they meet you at the door and they're taking the down by $4,000 I know and happened to me last Thursday
Price can’t be beat? Lol.. $32k okay buddy. They were $4-6k less 2 years ago for the same exact product. The price is ridiculous.. wait 2 years and they will be begging for you to buy one again. They are everywhere now. Even the rarest hard to find northstar Polaris and defender limiteds. No one is paying these new prices now and it’s awesome.
I think it depends on your budget. Some cannot afford these. You are right about that. I also think that eventually they MAY go down in price as sales start to hurt. With that said. if you have the money to buy it then why not? Especially if you love off roading. @Digit975 I just bought a 2022 Can-Am Maverick X3 MAX XMR Turbo RR. I absolutely love it. I didn't want the RZR and most of the people at the shops said after many years of off roading that most of them have switched to Can-Am's.
Honestly I’ve never noticed, even in long races where the engine was at 200 degrees for 5 hours. Maybe it’s worse with a windshield or with the stock exhaust but it’s no worse than any other UTV I’ve driven.
The reasons I went with the x3 was reliability, they are one of the newer companies to break into sxs and are far better than Polaris, Polaris is one of the pioneers of the industry and in my opinion is terrible, the clutches are garbage and the rest of the machine isn't much better, I get between 1000 and 1500 miles on belts at really hard rocky desert driving, and the springs issue hasn't been an issue for me I actually think the machine sets too high, with my first set of new tires which are 30s like stock I have 18 inches under the front skid plate due to the new tires are alittle bigger diameter, also have top of the line model minus the smart shocks, which I agree is the best bang for your buck, you're being a little over worried about rocks, like I said I ride in a very rocky rough area and the machine still looks new after over year. While it could happen I don't think it's too big of an issue.
True. Especially on the older models before they fixed the intake noise. Or if you have a metal roof. I only ride with a helmet and now have an intercom system and it’s a game changer.
Sure if you have lots of money to go out and buy this little dirt toy when you could almost buy a raptor truck who can afford this in in two years this thing will be worthless
The raptor will depreciate between 30-50k in in as little as 4 years. The can am or polaris rzr will hold their value better. Alot of people dont have the financial means to get a 100k raptor
