Should you buy a CZ BOBWHITE G2 shotgun? - Side by Side review!

Love the Jed Clampett-style side-by-side! I used to have a couple side-by-sides before the tragic boating accident that took all my guns. Your shotgun looks nice!

I'm a big fan of CZ shotguns. In my opinion, they offer the best value for the money. The Bobwhite is a great gun and I also have this one in 20ga. I have other CZ SxS (Sharp Tails, Ringnecks) as well. They will loosen up after about 100-150 shells and proper lubrication. The extractors are great as well. I prefer them over ejectors (I hate picking up shells). This was my first English stock SxS and it took a few shots to get used to it, but you quickly get accustomed to it and it becomes second nature. The chokes that come with it are adequate, but I prefer my Carlson's extended chokes. It's just personal preference.

Love it I bought one about two months ago. So far shooting and handling great. We’ll see how it holds up.

Ejectors don't eject unfired shells, they extract so for your described use case of switching out shells it would work exactly the same. I have this same gun, its a very decent beater gun if you are into SxS. Definitely gets the job done and you don't have to worry about dinging it. Its a bit on the heavy side for serious upland hunters but its fine for general duty.

Got mine for $589.00 brand new, about 4, maybe 5 years ago. Ive killed too many squirrels to count with mine! Pheasants, quail, chukar....killed a buttun buck and a gobbler wirh a 9inch beard too with mine. I actually purely shoot s×s's Only...and for everything too. Ive shoot over 3,000 rounds easy through mine trouble free. The only 3 inch shell ive put in it was the one turkey load on that turkey. All my s×s's are 28inch, double trigger, stright english stocks with splinter forends. I actually like the fact the bobwhite isnt traditional blueing. Its actually black crome on them, wich is actually more durable than blueing is. The only wear on mine is around the bottom egde of the box of the receaver... and thats just from all the miles ive carried it through the woods one handed. Cant beat the 20ga, CZ actually builds there sub gauge guns on there own frame sizes too so there verry balanced guns. I just favor the 12ga over all. Can download a 12ga to shoot any 20ga load and load it all the way up to a 10ga load too! Unfortunately thats kinda the exact reason the 16ga is disappearing more and more. Nice vid. TY. I bought a 12 ga side-by-side CZ coach with the external hammers about 2 years ago and I love it. Haven't shot it outside yet, but I do take mine to the range, quite often.

I’m a 20 gauge and 28 gauge shooter for upland game. My choice is mostly the 28 gauge and love them both. They are both Ruger Red Label over and under. I shoot improved cylinder and modified for most hunting. I also use them both pheasant hunting and prefer the 28 gauge again. I love that little gun.

I bought the 12g last year & it really is Sweet. I really wish i had bought the 20g as I am almost 60 now. I actually sold my Remington double 10g when i bought the CZ 12g as i hadn't shot the 10g in almost 10 years. ... AWESOME GUN, you will love it.

iT LOOKS OK ! The gun I always wanted when I was young was a iTHICA SKB side by side . It was a gun made in Japan back in the 70's.

If you have a unfired shell in a gun with ejectors it will not eject it.

I have one in 12 and one in 20. I plan to pick up the 28 gauge bobwhite g2 as well. I have been eyeing the all terrain versions too. Great budget side by side! Better than the Stoeger but not ridiculously priced. Good vid!

I primarily have been using my trusty Remington 1100 fir the oast 20 years. Last year i wanted to snazz it up a but and purchased a CZ sharp tail in 16 ga. I love it. I may get a bobwhite in 20 ga soon.

I had a CZ ringneck 28 guage. I really liked it, but i traded it for a Browning 28 guage. I miss it though, it was a good gun. Enjoy!

yes the barrels get hot, i just shot a round of trap with mine for fun and you couldnt touch it. lol they are very nice for the price point. Mine is still tight after about a thousand rounds, no issues.

If you haven't fired the ejectors wouldnt eject fyi.

i have a bobwhite too. i used it last year for every day of dove season. worked great. it will be my dove hunting gun this year. i noticed you are pulling the front trigger first. get in the habit of using the rear trigger first. on double rifles you can double fire them by pulling the front trigger first. that will hurt with a big nitro express. you never know when you might have a chance to shoot a double rifle.

If you want to go down a rabbit hole check out the inserts to shoot most calibers. Making it a good survival piece as well.

I've owned one since I was 16 . It's perfect. And yes my guns are for use not showing.

Yeah even mossberg is putting out 590s with issues these days. I hope this isnt the case, but it seems lile the dominace of American pumps is going the way of the dodo. The new Remingtions have been solid but we all know its been a long time coming for them as well. Theres not much that can go wrong with a break action even a fairly inexpensive (for a double barrel). Alot of people just want guns that work well and look good and the g2 fits the bill.

A very interesting change-of-pace video . I hope you realize that you were smiling a lot more than when you talk real estate. I haven't added a long gun to my mostly inherited collection in awhile but I will definitely add that little beauty to my list. Double 20? Tactical 20? Pump .22? Lever .357? This is gonna get expensive! Can you talk more about the other doubles you researched and how you decided on the CZ?

Thanks for the video. Not sure if you read all your comments but I finally got to see blue angels. Visited orange beach and we did a dolphin cruise in Pensacola..been watching you for years Seen the big sand dune you and sam hung out with all your friends. And the blue angels were practicing . So cool my cousins loved it better than the dolphin part. One of my triplets joined the Airforce and she is in boot camp now should graduate July 2 and then she goes a straight into technical training. I can't remember what branch you were in. This week is the gas masks thing I am worried as a mother. Noone wants to be recycled...but she said she loves pt. So I was wondering what branch you were in and I'd your liked it. Best of luck with your CZ side by side. Yes I’m a fan of CZ. Own their Sporter OU. As a skeet shooter. I found transitioning to side by side difficult. My eye would sight down one barrel or the other. On the topic of Gentlemen shotguns. You have a unique opportunity to go east from Gulf Breeze to a gun shop that sells Westly Richards shotguns. You have to call ahead. But the experience is well worth it. Good luck and be careful chewing. Shot is hard on your teeth.😊

I own a 20 gauge Southpaw. Wish they would make a Southpaw in 28 gauge. While I like the gun, keep in mind you get what you pay for. If anything other than a spring or firing pin breaks and the warranty is up you will have a paperweight as CZ does not keep major parts on hand to fix. It will not be worth taking to a gunsmith since the cost of repair would be more than the guns value. I know Baretta will be able to fix my Silver Pigeon 20 years from now. Not so with CZ.

Ejectors only shoot out an empty shell. A loaded shell will stay put.

And if you have to use it for self defence you don't have to go lookin for your empty shells afterwards 😉
