The 4spd automatic that Hyundai put in the earlier ix20s was awful and the laziest car I ever had so be warned. Hyundai would never own up to the problem but they still changed it to a six speed auto in 2018 and it was a different car to drive then and I bought another.
many of the japanese manufacturers were playing catch up with volkswagen group since the incarnation of the DSG automatic gearbox in the noughties, I guess their main client base, lazy older folk, were never fussed about a dynamic auto box and in our experience, many do not like the complication that these fandangled more hi-tech DSG/DCT boxes offer
@@SmallCarsDirect Hey! I am one of those older folk and by no means lazy with my cars of which there have been all types. I have been driving cars for over 60 years and Automatics for 20 years or more. I have driven every type of auto that I know of. My early ix20 with a 4spd box was easily the worst of those. It would struggle up hills and in Devon I had to use the manual option. The 6spd box was great improvement. The car was okay the.
@leoseries I bought my 1.6l ix20 4 months ago and in the handbook is written that it has 4 speed, but when I drive it in manual mode it shows me 6 speed. So what gearbox I have? And its struggle also with hills
@@bastikolaski8111 How old is your car? I first changed mine in 2016, I believe that was the first year that They changed the auto gearbox from four 4 to six speed in the UK. It seems that you have the six speed but the six speed gearbox on my car coped very well with hills in the UK and had much better acceleration. The four speed was very sluggish even on the smallest slopes.
