I’m in America and I am SOOOO glad we finally get the rs6!! Don’t know what took so long. I rode in the sedan (saloon) version back in 2003, when I was in high school and it was glorious. I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these at some point.
You do a little disservice to the A6, because I had a 1999 A6 Avant 4.2 V8, normally aspirated in those days. A quoted 295bhp it was a hugely practical car with acres of space and yet it had a huge punch with he V8 engine. Mine had a tow bar as well which made it a brilliant all round work horse, but with plenty of luxury, an auto gearbox of course which was tiptronic. It was a joy to drive. M8ne died sadly when a piston parted company with the crank shaft at 160000 miles. I was gutted. So much so that I bought an RS6 V10 5.0 just to console myself. Still the huge practical interior with now an immense punch. A ridiculous petrol consumption compared to the relatively frugal V8 but a beautiful car.
I was buying a takeaway coffee minding my own business a few years ago, and all of a sudden there was this almighty noise and I thought the earth was splitting in two. Turned round and it was one of these RS6s being ragged up the road. Sounded fucking awsome.
German prestige cars have never had it so bad in terms of how much of a fist they make owners look. I blame cheap PCP so everyone can afford one. Notice the massive drop in chavvy hatchbacks in recent years? The crowd have all moved onto BMW/Merc/Audi on cheap finance...
“If you’re the sort who wants a McLaren but ought to have a Volvo 850, then maybe this is the car for you.” Entertaining every time Matt. Most of the time I don’t care what the car is I just watch the vids for the quips. This and Harry’s Garage are unmissable. BTW Matt, when is an update on the Volvo v50 project coming?
Find an old Volvo 960 wagon and drop in a chevy small block. Jejejeje. Rs6 is beautifull. Never got the wagon in na. But sedans where available .love breaks or wagons or whatever ya want to call em.
I could see you doing another Transporter movie Remember "Never change the deal" "No names" "Never open the package" "Never make a promise you can't keep"
@@fireblade8905 u can get around 28 mpg (UK) if you drive very conservatively and consciously of being economical. but spirited driving would be high teens
Lovely car, but I couldn't be doing with all the aggro of owning one. If it's still there when you get up in the morning, you'll probably get car-jacked for it on the way to work.
My Neighbour's got one and much of your analysis is correct in every way . TBF it sounds gorgeous just burbling before it thunders effortlessly away. I once said nice car to his wife and she screwed her nose up saying it was his choice.
Hired a 2007 R8 a few years back. Unforgettable experience. Bonkers that these new hyper family cars and hot hatches are faster now. Great review again.
The last generation Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo touring 4.4L V8 608hp was the fastest production touring in the world, I want that! The newer ones have more power and tech, sure, but I think I would be happy with 608hp xD
Beautiful car, it would be similar to having a young child again, you'd always be looking outside to see if it's OK, or being quick in the shops so it's not left alone too long 😁,
@@HighPeakAutos haha I honestly think owning one would send you neurotic, every noise from outside etc etc, it would have to be garaged for me to own one, even if I could afford it, great work as always, 👍
Phenomenally capable car! a friend has a tuned one and happily gets to 180mph very little touches it in terms of performance and practicality well worth the money
Putting running costs aside just look at it's stunning looks and practicality. I think it's a wonderful car and lusted after one for the last 20 years. Ended up buying a Rangey...life works in mysterious ways. Still drooling over this though, what a car.Thank you Matt.
What a beast. . I'd always worry about parking that without some idiot checking the door in a car park or scuffing the bumpers when parking near to it.
@@Calvi36 I watched it too as I own a C7 3.0 TD Quattro Avant, says more to me about the lack of extra speed on the C8 cos it should not be getting creamed all the time by the E63 AMGs Estate
@@brianiswrong I have the Skoda estate, a 2012 V6 AWD and love it. The first car in 30 years I have kept past the end of the lease, it is that good and so reliable. Not that many kms as I have other vehicles. But if it becomes old and cranky like it's owner, and RS6(or 5 or 7) is seriously on the cards. I love that you can have an almost understated practical wagon to throw things in the back of and a stinking hoon car all in one.
no ta i couldn't afford the 24hr security or the rabid dogs to protect it and it would get tiresome trapping thieves fingers in the door every time you shut it
I’ve always liked these. Never understand why anyone would spend 20/30 plus thousand on a diesel when you can have something as fantastic as this a few years old. Maybe I’m just performance obsessed 🤩
Love this car however this is probably me but the Audi S8 gives it a run for it’s money you can get one under 30k if your lucky u can get a 600bhp one which does 0-60 in 3.8 or the 513 which does 4.1 and tops at 155mph but if optioned can do 189.5mph I’m a total nerd about this car I just think it’s the perfect used buy if kept on good condition and for a long time it Would go back up in value
Whenever I see one of these in Birmingham my 1st thought is wow. My 2nd is I wonder how that 14 yr old driver in hoodie and face covering can afford it?
The problem with Audi RS products is not only the inability to retain your driving license (due to speeding everywhere in it) but also the propensity of individuals of 'dubious character' that are only too happy to kick your front door in and stab you to death for the keys, they must be some of the MOST stolen vehicles out there. No thank you.
R I T A ,( funny thing is a stage 2 rs6 can do 2.9 0-60 and Rita is like 2.8 I think , so yes this car stage 2 is as fast as the Alton towers ride Rita ,am saving for mine right now 😎👍🏻)
Nice tour of the Fylde coast. The static shots were 200 m from my Dental surgery in Fleetwood. Nice to see a change of scenery. Thumbs up for that. The Audi is tasty too.
Great review and you summed up the stereotypical buyer succinctly. Range rover svr or rs6. True. Although Ive just bought a ftype r so cant say too much
I’ve had my RS6 C7 for 2 months now and find any excuse to go for a drive. By miles this is the best car I’ve owned. The power and endless torque is addictive so you need to be careful.
@@paullangley4840 what’s the torque feel like..I was lucky to drive a c5 rs6 a long time ago and I just remember the feeling like your on a airplane taking off. It made me smile and grin like nothing I’ve ever been in. I want that feeling again..and this model has more torque so what’s it feel like might I please ask guys??
hey matt, appreciate youre views on the RS6, but really?? who in the world can afford one or run one...else youre channel will becone too elitist...too many channels like that already !
I know its not quite in the same league but I have owned my Golf Mk 5 R32 now for 14 years. I have loved every day of ownership and so has my wife. What do I replace it with? Nothing really ticks the boxes like my R and my point echos the reviewers comment about when you love a car , you end up owning it for a long time. Great review btw, I'd swap my R for one of these if I had the money tho 😄
What a weapon of a car. Always loved the look of these on the road, a sinister stealth and sharpness. I don't think the new model looks anywhere near as good, way too fussy and cluttered in comparison
Just to help out on the fuel consumption, it can get 40mpg or about 7.0 L per hundred on a run. I doubt I will ever sell mine.... its the car which does everything... apart from off road for those RR people :-)
Hi Matt, I just watched this video from Australia and I'm drooling. What an absolutely gorgeous car. I was looking at the S5 (and saving the coins for it), but this car has thrown me a bloody swerve ball.
Quick ....as in 100 hours of community service..! Wonderful and These reviews really give me an understanding of the car in question - warts an all....!
Brilliant , ye way too many logistics people associated with this model which is a shame , seems to be an absolute weapon in all circumstances, nice one. Thank you.
@@chriswright6607 cheers Chris! I went to the website and checked it lol. As it’s not the facelift model that’s the sole reason it’s on my possible list mate! But in ball park with year/options/mileage-service etc. It’s a beauty...alas I’m not an ‘importer/exporter’ but want it as a family wagon...🤔.
This generation of RS6 is probably the best looking Audi of all time. The design js flawless. Its so manly and stylish at the same time. Overall Audi's design philosophy seems superior to any other German manufacturer. BMWs design for example is absolutely horrid these days.
Super exquisite driving experience in an overly priced bracket, that is what the salesman said to me as I took one of these for a test drive and afterwards back at the showroom, when I asked did he have an Audi TTs he laughed. Thanks Matt I know precisely what this car is capable of.
Good video. So I have had a RS6 from 2013 to April 2022 (C7). I did 139,000 miles in it. Enjoyed it very much !! / BUT !!! 5 sets of tyres, 5 sets of full disc and brakes all around, oil change every 9000 miles, water pump, two sets of plugs (8 each time). Discs and brakes - typical 2-3k at a time. Tyres - 1.5 K (at least each time). Not even started on the fuel! On a long motorway run I could do 30MPG (by sitting in the slow lane and letting lorries overtake). School run, 8 MPG. Do I regret ? No. But do not think it is about being able to afford a monthly payment if you are on finance, it is about can you afford to run it !? Nice video . Mark.
Stunning car, my sisters hubby has one, but he won't give me a go, b'stard! But to own one, you'd better have a vault to keep it in til the weekend, and away from envious eyes. And also an understanding bank manager. If you have all of that, and some decent twisty roads nearby, then why not! You might want to download the WAZE app too, so you can plan your route to avoid sitting "blue meanies" who will enjoy watching you cry as they take your license away. Personally though, I'd love the chance to take one up a deserted A road in the Scottish Highlands, or somewhere similar, just me and the car, nobody else to distract you from the experience. Yet another great video. Cheers Matt.🤜🤛
Out of all the supercars I've ever driven when subcontracting to Ferrari dealership a few years ago the RS6 V10 Lamborghini engine was without doubt the best car I have ever driven. It had the power and performance of a Ferrari yet the armchair comfort of a luxury car. I think it had a little bit more power than the model you have there although this car here looks better.
Most performance car nowadays share the same corporate engine. I have supercar now. Well, the SQ7 which has the same engine as its siblings the Lambo Urus and Bently Bentayga, albeit detuned but yeah, even the same engine and platform.
Problem with a 2nd one of these is every mile has been blasted! No one buys a new one to drive carefully. Bro had one and I’m sure the av fuel consumption was 12mpg. 🥴
