I have a 2013 F150 XLT with 213,000 miles on it and everything is still working like the day. I bought it brand new. 5.0 L engine. I do my oil changes every 3000 miles. And the sink stereo still works fine. Love the Truck.

That is such an amazing point and I can tell you that mines swear only by ford of the truck is going underground. Well the smart ones thst know how to account for the entire lifespan of the vehicle amd not just the monthly paymemt anyways.

Nooo.. that’s wrong. Because “these” trucks were build in the last ten years or earlier. They are not the trucks from 60+ yrs ago. So yeah quality can change, companies can change, people can go out of business and so does ford. So your anecdotal historical reference has no logical value in regard to the build quality modern ford vehicles. There is a class action lawsuit going on in regard to lack of quality control on the eco boost engine. Yes the guy in the vid even mentions the carbon shit build up. So yeah 👍

I have a 2013 f150 lariat 5.0. It has 248,000. I bought it at 238,000, and everything works fine. A bit of a bug in the steering wheel media buttons, but nothing major. Had to replace the transmission, and it's butter smooth now. I do keep the brake calipers, pulleys, and bearings in mind. I have a new radiator cooler fan waiting to be put in and it's simple. Had to replace the thermostat, but it's all accepted to do with the kind of mileage it has. I maintain oil changes, and keep 89 octane in it. I've always been a chevy fan, but the ford has definitely grown on me.

I owned a 95 F-150 V8 manual transmission for 10 years. Bought it for $3k. Had over 300k miles when I sold it a couple years ago for $9k. Hated to sell it, but needed something heavier duty for towing. Now have a 2011 f150 V8, with 150k miles runs fine. I would have preferred manual transmission, but not available anymore. Just stick with simple, low tech. All that turbo and computer stuff is hard to maintain. And don't label me as a ludite. I'm a computer engineer, but know computers are not rugged enough to work long term in harsh environments.

I used to be one of those V8 or die guys. I did a 429 PI swap into a 1972 Mach 1. I’ve had a string of 5.0s, both Windsor and Coyote. I grabbed the 4.6 Cobra when it came out in 1996. The 2013 six speed GT ragtop in my garage right now is my long term keeper. So I know all the good things about 8 cylinder power. I bought my 2015 Lariat FX4 brand new, after a cell phone moron ran a red light at 45mph and took out my 2003 Ranger Edge. My pattern is buy them new, take excellent care of them, and hang on long term. She’s at 139,000 now. 2.7 EB, Mobil 1 extended performance every 5000-6000 miles, factory air filter every third oil change, and I just had the trans fluid changed for the second time, along with its second tune up. Turbos don’t scare me. If engineered well, all they ask for is clean oil. The F150 runs and drives pretty much exactly as it did when new. Shining a flashlight down the oil fill hole, all the stuff I can see looks clean enough to eat off of. I’ll admit it: The truck has been used as a car with a huge trunk, hauling camera gear and film all over the Southwest USA with most of those miles racked up at 2000 rpm on the highway. The running gear is way overbuilt for what I do with it so I’m not surprised it has held up so well. 19.5 mpg over all since new and it gets driven between 75 and 85 unless I’m on an old two lane where deer and other critters have a way of enforcing those slower speeds. I’m in line now for a 2023 Bronco Outer Banks two door, and the 2.7 was an easy choice. It might be this time next year before mine is built but I’m already missing that 36 gallon tank with its ability to easily get 700-800 miles of range on the interstate. The F150 is an outstanding road trip rig, making 700 mile days at the wheel feel like nothing. Depending on what they tell me its worth I may just end up keeping her-I am not giving the truck away no matter what.

In the 5 years I have owned it I replaced the fuel pump that's it. I just keep the the fluids maintained. Lots of power. Now that's some crazy miles lol I expect this truck to easily go 400,000 or more it runs that good. They don't build them like this anymore. This truck is amazing.

Surprised nobody's mentioning this specific truck towing heavy load often would lead to drivetrain wear. This truck notorious for transmission issues (myself having been through two major repairs). Rear differential and suspension should be inspected as well. Both Ecoboost and Coyote have cam phaser issues. Neighbor just bought used 2018 5.0 with 80k and has the rattle at start up. My EB at 173k mi has it once every couple months, hoping to get to 200k to eat that major repair (timing chain included). All that but still love my truck and considering another to replace it, either engine.

Considering looking at a 2017 f150 xlt with the ecoboost, looks impeccable but with 350k kms. listed for ~$14k less than what one with average kms for that year (~140k kms) would go for... that $14k savings would cover some significant repairs when they come up. but 350,000kms is crazy

I'd say 14k less but 220k to max 250k would make more sense. At 350 000km it could become too costly to repair vs it's value.

I'm still waiting on my hybrid maverick. I haven't had an f150 but I've had the old 92 f350. I sold it in perfect running condition for $500 with 550,000 km on it. Not sure what that is in miles. Was still strong and never had anything major go in it. My van now is a 2009 e350 with the dreaded 5.4 I just do oils and breaks. Also a heater blower motor. I've owned it for about 150,000 of its 340,000 km. My escape also never let me down ever. I sold it at 330,000 km. Also my little focus is at 330,000.... moral of the story is to just change your oils early not late and don't beat the crap out of them and they will last. P.s. my van and truck both worked hard for a living as I'm a contractor. Thanks for the video.

I have a 2015 F150 Ecoboost Platinum rotting in my driveway. It has 54k miles. Paid $50k for it back in 2015. It's all leather interior, all the bells and whistles, sprayed in truck bed with Roll and Lock bed cover. Brought it to the same dealership for all its maintenance and tune ups. Dealership just soaked me $5500 in one repair bill. These trucks F150s are piles of disappointment waiting to break down or drain more cash from their owners. I wanted a truck. This was my first and now last truck. Sure F150 Ecoboost Platinums look pretty but their mechanical disasters. Please let me save you the sorrow and cash by saying "Don't buy one of these colossal nightmares. I've been reduced to driving my wife's old station wagon. Sad ending but I can't afford to send more money to the dealership repairing this piece of trash (saying it's trash is unjust assessment of actual trash but I don't want to curse).

Tundras are great if you don't get a rusty one and can afford the big premium for mediocre performance and economy, Titans are rust buckets full of plastic things that break.

The Ford trucks, the regular ones, are number one selling for a reason. Like most of the people are saying, it's all about maintenance. Of course there are always outliers from the factory, but the majority will run and work as long as you want them to. I buy trucks with limited tech, and not a whole lot of extras. Most of that stuff is unnecessary and will eventually break anyway.

So 190k is super high mileage? My 08 tundra says hold my beer, sitting at 480k ,it 4x4 5.7 crew max work truck pulls trailer every day around 4k to 8k in weight, I've only replaced a right front wheel bearing and o2 sensors. That said I did click on the video because I was thinking about getting a newer work truck like a 17 or 18 f150 just because of the interior, anyone know a ford f150 with over 200k I'm just trying to figure out if they last with out much work being done to them ?

190 000 miles or 300 000km I'd say 300 000 kms is a lot but 480k km is incredible. Thank you for the comment. My blue 2011 ecoboost was sold with 293 000km and it's been 3 years and it's still on the road. Must have over 320 000km

15,999. Not bad considering it might last another 200 000km or 160 000 miles

Miles don't scare me if it runs strong and isn't all ragged out. I've driven people's vehicles with less than 100k mi and they were already a worn out POS. Had cars/trucks with well over 200k mi and would trust them to get in and go a long ways. Ya never know!

Always buy my trucks used between 130-150k and drive them for 5 years and sell them with 250k. So far so good now major repairs
