Should you Buy Assassin's Creed 2 in 2021? (Review)

I'm currently playing though the game for the first time. I just got to Rome. I'm really loving it.

Still one of, if not the best Assassin's Creed game. I also really loved Black Flag. It's sad that we probably won't get a true Assassin's Creed game again.

I bought the ezio collection and it amazing

aaah, this Series went downhill... I think the Ezio Trilogy (especially Brotherhood, but that's personal, 2 is as good) was the highest peak of the series, the 2nd highest peak is Ac Black Flag for me, for many reasons.

I think the best part about ac 2 is the story mode. The gameplay is a bit clunky, but it's later fixed in brotherhood. Overall 1 of the best assassin's creeds and my personal favorite because of the story mode.

sadly, back in 2013, i completed playing through ac 1, decided to play ac 2 for the first time and when i got to the mission where they teach you how to blend in with the dancers, i accidentally moved my 360 and i heard my disc was moving around inside the tray, so i had to turn of the console in fear that i might damage the console, tried to play the game again but as it turns out, the game didn't work anymore, so now i might try this game again altough it took me 9 years to do so.

AC 2 was the first AC game that I bought myself. My friend gave me AC 1 to try out back in 2012 and that's when I fell in love with the series

So many memories watching it now feels like I played it today but its been 12 years already. Im seriously thinking of playing it again then Brotherhood and Revelations my 3 favorite ever Assassin Creed games

I never really just play the assassins creed series so I may just give it a shot especially after watching my brother play them all back in the day

Definitely my favorite of the franchise. I thought brotherhood for awhile but AC2 has a much more enjoyable setting and the story is more relatable and engaging

This game is awesome definitely recommend it! Only thing I didn’t like was that we didn’t get to spend enough time with Ezio’s brothers and dad. I wish we could have seen more of them.

Ah, memories! I replayed this game so many times! Just for the magnifico story!

AC2 is by far my favourite in the series and one of my favourite games of all time. It just feels so right. The story, protagonist, visuals, weapons ect just feels good and the background story with Desmond in modern time is also very interesting and I was absolutely blown away when the mystery of that codex was finally revealed after you collected all of them. Also for 2009 game it looks amazing. There are annoying parts and annoying missions for sure but as a whole, it's damn near a perfect game and I would really love to see a remake of this game. I would still rate this game 9.8/10 and I have probably played this game at least four times. My latest playthrough was last summer (2020) and I enjoyed it very much. I played the first AC and the entire Ezio trilogy then.

ac 2 and revelation and still my favorite, black flag is second in that. the (world music) "cant remember the exact wording" is just top notch and unforgettable in AC 2.

After playing this via pirate, I finally bought the whole Ezio trilogy in Ubi store yesterday because it is on sale right now. Replaying AC2. Feels nostalgic. Love it. 👍

AC2 was my first AC game and it’s by far my fav AC game in the series I absolutely love it

I just replayed it and the atmosphere soundtrack and the maps are top tier. The gameplay tho is very unpolished but far from unplayable. I really enjoyed it. The side missions weren’t that fun but I took any excuse to explore the map. My favorite setting definitely. The parkour is actually pleasing once you master it. I would only recommend it to old fans of the series or big fans of the setting. The story starts really good but gets kinda stale at moments. I’m a big sucker for The modern day story and the glyphs. My first ac game ever and still one of my favorites.

2:16 that's exactly why so many ppl loved Ezio's Story. We follow him from young adult at the start of ACII to an old man in AC Revelation. That's was a perfect choice from the devs back then. To this day I'm still waiting to have an other "ezio". The absence of stealth in the current games (Origins & after) is such a bummer. It was super fun to do. They tried (i think ?!) to add a bit in the last but not worth it vs combat when playing sadly.

This is without a doubt my all time favourite game. Ezio was such a badass. Remember playing this game back in 2010, when I was 13 years old. Watching this video brought back so many great memories and definitely put me in a nostalgic mood. Even considering buying this game again. Thank you for a great video!

I had never played assassin's creed before but I had always wanted to so I bought the Ezio collection which is AC 2, brotherhood, and revalations for $12 because it was on sale. Best game purchase ever, I beat AC 2 in a week because I couldn't stop playing it. There are some bugs like at the beginning you have to kill a guy in a tower, and he just didn't spawn for me. Their are hard levels like this stupid mission where you have to kill a guy in a boat that id surrounded by guards. Their are annoying missions where you have to tail people for seemingly forever. Overall it's a great game and you should get it or even the whole ezio pack. Pro tip for AC 2, if you are stuck on a level try to cheese it with the gun

I'd really love to see you do a full in-depth video on this game. I first played it back in 2022 for the first time as part of the Ezio Collection on Switch, and it paved the way for AC to become my absolute favorite video game series ever. At first I was skeptical just because the game came out in 2009 and the graphics aren't up to modern day standards like I am used to, but after playing it for an hour or so, I became hooked. It ignited a love for this series that I have never experienced before, and to this day, I still play at least 15 or 30 minutes on an AC game just about every day. I've played through all of the AC games now and actually just finished my second play-through of AC2 yesterday, which has just reaffirmed my love for this game (I also just started my second play-through of Brotherhood as soon as I finished AC2). You really should give it a bit more attention! If people haven't played it by now then that's on them. It shouldn't stop you from making a video diving in deep on this game and its story, or even doing one of the "the video ends when I die" sort of videos. I personally think it is one of the best and most fun combat systems in the whole series. There is actual depth to it rather than only being relegated to just an attack button and a counter/parry button only like some later games would have. The parkour system has comparable depth to it as well. Overall, I think it is overdue and deserves a good, in-depth analysis by you! It is a game that has absolutely stood the test of time for sure.

Nice review ! Even in 2021 it's so nice to still have poeple showing how this games shined and still do About the crouch button i don't know if many people did it but i sometimes used. a kind of immobile crouch by holding R2+X waiting for guards to pass by in narrow places

This will always be my #1 fav ac game ezio story hit me hard as a child it made me want to be ezio so bad and I would practice parkour every day to be like this master assassin and now I am 18 and a young ezio I love this game I’ll never ever go bad

(only for those who don't know) Ok, so for the whole Forli and FIrenze missions (sequences 12 and 13) the ideea is that they were DLC packs which were released 2-3 months after the initial release of the game. As far as I can remember, after you finish sequence 11, Rebecca tells you that there are two memory sequences which can't be accessed because they were corrupted. Because of that, the game skips directly to sequence 14 where you need to find the codex pages. (this happened only with the original release copies on the XBOX 360 and PS3; the PC release and the subsequent releases have the sequences integrated in the game). Maybe the reason why they feel bland is because they might have been an afterthought and not part of the original script.

I loved it on release, definitely one of my top 3 but I just tried to play through it again this year and the series has come such a long way in improving on the parkour, combat and open world that it's a real struggle to enjoy now IMO

Today graphics and gameplay design is so freely dropped on great and crappy games, that for some it's hard to see the blurred line of what is actually great and is not. AC 2 did so much for me besides deliver polished graphics and stunning mechanics. What 2 did for me was keep me glued to my controller, by way of it's amazing story. A story that lasts by Ezio's end, over 2 decades. So for me AC 2 holds a very special place in my gaming adventure. Like Atari 2600 and the original NES hold a special place. Nostalgia is forever experienced and unique to each person that stores it in their hearts and minds.

Although it is old and a little clunky compared to the new games, it is still a masterpiece! And has such an addicting story!

One of the most interesting things I find in AC2 is that you can use a broom as a weapon. My personal favorite weapon is the spear, and I have found out something revolutionary about it. There is an animation where Ezio breaks it in 2 halfs and stabs the opponent with both of them. You can later use both of those halfs as weapons. One's the spear, the other is the stick. The spear works like a sword or a blade, and the stick is something you can use to beat the guards to death. Those are the 2 things I really like. Like when do you see a game with that much detail and realism? Plus it's from 2009. That's why I mainly play open-world games. Because of the opportunities. You don't have to do that, but you can, if you want, no one will probably use it, but it's there, as a choice.

Is it worth getting for the ps3 or the pc. I have a great pc to game at 1440p with but i wanna get the best experience. Graphics makes me lean towards pc but bugs are something i hate, can't really decide since i don't know just how buggy it is and if it isn't on the console.

I definitely plan on buying all the older games and playing through them all in order eventually, never got to experience any that came out before black flag, but the games were always some of my favorite since I played black flag when I was like 7 years old.

The first 4 games were by far the best. AC3 was also pretty good, however, the franchisee took quite a dip from there. With that said, the AC series is still my all time favorite set of games of all time.

I've never played any of the Assassin's Creed games and recieved the Ezio Trilogy today as a gift for the PS3. So far I'm very impressed so I thought I'd check out some reviews. I'm more of an RPG player so it's taking a little time to get used to all the.... Wall crawling, for lack of a better term, but being a history buff I'm truly impressed by the amount of detail the developers clearly went into Hopefully I can adjust to the gameplay because I really want to finish this series. One thing the AC series has improved over the years is parkour. That is the hardest thing to adjust going back and playing again. You have to play slower pace compared to the newer games

I think the reason why Ezio is popular its because of the Personal Story, the time:Renaissance location:Italy(This is the most important part of Assassins Creed) and His Assassin outfit in AC:B is the best Assassin outfit of all assasins. It's also because of Desmond after that most AC game became stale for my taste.

I love this game, but when I played it on Xbox 360, I collected all the feathers and it didn’t give me the achievement. And then, when I hade about 18/20 of “the Truth” puzzles solved, my entire game save deleted itself.

I found a fun glitch in brotherhood. If you through a body off a roof and make it hit a pole sticking out the wall it bugs out so bad. If you have the game try it. I was crying laughing on the ground the first time I did it.

Damn assassins creed 2 was so good, such a great sequel. I love this game, it’s the reason I love games today. Along with brotherhood, I can just remember the feeling I got looking at ezio on the box. A feeling you only get as a child. Definitely the greatest assassin in the series.

Get the ezio collection....it is 2, brotherhood and revelations in one package...you will basically get Florence, Venice , Rome and Istanbul in one package...it is not about the games themselves but exploring the most beautiful locations in assassin Creed games till date...

Just picked up the enzio trilogy for 15 bucks. Not a huge gamer but love playing storylines. Looking forward to playing

For the part where you said it was a filler for the plot, when you had to kill 9 lieutenants, it was actually meant to be like that to be a reference to the first game, you had to kill 9 lieutenants just like you had to kill 9 templars and then get to the boss (al mualim in ac1) so it was cool and nice imo...

I am glad I went around and collected the codex pages while playing so by the time I got to the end I only needed 1 more and I was done

Do you experienced any issues activating the deluxe edition? I bought ACII a few years ago on Steam, but the game no longer says "Deluxe Edition" (at least my deluxe key is still there). Also Ubisoft turned off the game's server, so there is no way to activate the deluxe key in-game.
