While one has surely drawn more hype than the other, the point still stands that both of them are absolutely brilliant additions to Chevrolet's lineup. However, despite the E-ray being more than a step below the Z06, it still calls for an inquest to find out which would be a good buy for you, and in today's video, we'll be looking at a comparison between both cars, as well as one very key update that has been missing for a while about the Z06. I'm getting the E Ray! 🔥🔥 I will put a Super Charger on it and make it go from 600HP to 800HP

Eray has better torque with electric motors and should be faster from 0 to 60 and beat z06 on the street. So it is wrong that "Eray will be nothing close to the Z06 in performance ". It really depends if it is for daily street or track use. Plus you forgot to mention the AWD in Eray will be good for all seasons with any weather conditions and better cornering.

it will not have better torque, it will not beat it in any application. im not sure what you are on about. the zo6 has 670hp vastly passing the eray. make no mistake , if the e ray was fully electric then maybe it would have a shot at MAYBE beating the z06 in 0-60 only to be passed again. you can convince yourself the e ray is faster but we have numbers that say otherwise, the only thing that you said that is accurate is that it will have better cornering due to the all wheel drive

It will definitely have better torque on Eray. It depends on how powerful the electric motor GM is going to put in Eray. Yea, 670hp on z06 is great but with 470 pound-feet of torque is not so amazing. You can search video of m3 rwd vs awd on RU-vid. You will see how 0-60 the AWD beat RWD with the same hp. RWD can only catch up after reaching 100mph.

@@eliteghost0001 From the web: "Peak output of the hybrid system is expected to be around 85 kW (115 horsepower) and 111 pound-feet of torque," "When it comes to 0-60 mph acceleration times, the E-RAY should be comfortably in front of the Z06. All the way up to 60 mph the Corvette is “traction-limited”, meaning no matter how much power/torque the car has, its 0-60 time will be controlled by how much traction it has. The engine has the toque to break traction all the way up to 60 mph, so adding extra torque won’t make the car any quicker. But add two more wheels to propel the car and you now have basically double the traction. The E-RAY will be considerably quicker to 60 mph and I’ve heard rumours of sub 2 second times. But, as speed increases, the torque curve of the electric motor will decreases while the Z06 will come into its own, where it should overtake and pull away from the E-RAY."

@@eliteghost0001 I did say 0-60 faster not 0-200. As I said it depends on how powerful the electric motors will be added. It is from 100hp to 200hp plus the extra torque. Eray will have 595hp to 695 hp. It is still faster on the street but NOT on the track. What if ppl add a turbo or supercharger on Eray? 😁

@Lyle Warnke May I ask which dealership did you put in for the eray waiting list? I ask most of them (Ciocca, Macmulkin) and they still haven't started the list yet. Also, is ithat MSRP gurantee? Thanks

I have a 2020 stingray z51 that’s faster and quicker than I need. That said I have a reservation for a z06 and chuckle that the e ray would actually serve me better but I want the 8600 rpm Redline. E ray accelerates to 60 in 2.4 seconds where z06 does that in 2.6. E ray will probably start in the 80 thousand range.

For these care you have to read in between the lines the E ray will be AWD and be quicker off the line than the Z06.

That was a very definitive claim of 4 x 1.9 kWh batteries in the eRay. Can you cite your source? That would seem to make this not plug in capable. It could be right but had not heard it before.

I'm a 2019 ZO6/ZO7 7M owner, mine has a few mods and is a beast for track days. I'm currently on 2 C8 ZO6 lists, but high number because I'm still unsure of whether I want an E-Ray, ZO6 or stick with my C7 Z. I'm in no hurry, because I'm curious to see how happy that 8600RPM DOHC Flat Plane engine will be in basically "normal" usage, and the fact that it will likely require a Gas Guzzler Tax of some amount. I'm guessing the comparison between C7 ZO6 and C8ZO6 will be how the speed is made, with the C7, the massive torque at around 3000RPM is hard to dispute, while the C8 the acceleration is done with gearing and big RPM, because it has basically 200lb/ft less than the C7, so you'll be spinning it way up to get similar results. The E Ray, on the other hand, I think in normal street driving will smoke either the C7 or C8 ZO6, and without a Gas Guzzler Tax, which, by the way, my manual trans C7 ZO6 did NOT have. The C8 ZO6 is obviously an incredible piece of engineering at a great price, but I'm just wondering if it's more race car than street car, so I'll wait until I see some real owner reviews on it before I decide, so I'm in no rush to get one.

@@thomaskirk9341 Ford flat plane crank has 3 fiery versions before Ford discontinued. GM has been building cross plane crank engines for 100 years, and now a C8Z07 will be $170k+++

@@JerryCecco That's exactly why I'm in "wait and see" mode. I have 3 friends with Mustang GT350's , 2 have been trouble free, but 1 has had issues. The flat plane motor is strong, but only when you really hammer it, below about 3500RPM nobody's home.
