If you can't afford to buy the phone, don't buy the phone. Financing a phone is dumb.

Yea I scored a brand new factory unlocked LG v40 with a really nice case and screen protector for $191 after everything back in April. Previous years I've done the same thing with the LG G series phones for sub $125-$150. The masses really need to realize that flagships are rarely anything more than tik tok releases compared to the previous years. Especially when their use cases are as simple as calls, texts, email, media streaming/playback, web browsing and social media anyway. Funny thing is, that its almost always those people lining up at launch for these incredibly expensive cutting edge phones. I have a complete setup thats usually within 5%-7% of the latest and greatest in key aspects (and even just as good or better in some ways) for close to the price of TAX on a $1200+ phone alone. I saying tho... Great high res OLED screen, amazing camera as well as it still packing powerful enough specs for multitasking and using todays most demanding games/applications when I need. I'm a IT pro power user that uses a phone to replace my computer in many ways so any noticeable drawbacks during use would stick out like a sore thumb to me but it really doesn't. This device is actually still overkill for my use case and I'm definitely a lot more of a power user than most people. I can lose and replace my entire setup 6-7 times before it starts to cost as much or more than a current flagship.

@@TacticalPower88 everything you say is so true. It makes me sad that other manufacturers do not have a phone with a built in stylus. The s-pen on the galaxy note is a must have for me, but the prices are freakin killer. Way too much for a phone, but I can afford it, so I eat that ridiculous price. I agree with you though man. Go to any cell phone store or best buy and you can snag a a really great phone for so much less if it's not Samsung or Apple.

If you have homeowners or renter's insurance, most cover theft (and other "perils", check your policy). Pay your bill with a credit card that has phone insurance and that will take care of whatever deductible you have.

I have insurance, on my s24 ultra phone, but when I had my s22 ultra it cost me $365 to get my phone fix the screen was really cracked, so I had no choice.

@D S That's the way you see it. I've cracked multiple tempered glass screen protectors over the years, and I'd almost guarantee you that would have meant a cracked screen otherwise. Also, I see no degradation of the touch abilities. My current phone even uses a fingerprint scanner on the screen.

I would say that is the best combo to go with. The phone should last you a very long time.

For sure! The LG V60 is top shelf. Even being 2 years old, it still holds its own. Against most of todays top flagships. It's got everything that anyone could ask for including an additional screen for multi tasking, headphone jack with quad dac, expandable memory up to two terrabites, 5g, great camera, snapdragon 888

By the time you need it ,lets say one or two years later, the phone will have depreciated below the cost of insurance. If you tend to break phones you are best off searching on ebay..
