Thank you for this series of wonderful videos. I bought my son the top-of-the-line Miele vacuum cleaner because I wanted lifetime reliability. I have a criterion for large kitchen appliances that is different: Where does a technician find common repair parts for Miele without having to order them online? A common check-valve for a Whirlpool or Kenmore is a same-day item. How about that same common repair part for the Miele? Can your buyer expect Mercedes-AMG part prices for common repair parts? (For that matter, is the same true for Bosch?) What do you think?
I come to your reviews every time I need to buy an appliance. I research A LOT and no one has more comprehensive and useful info. In Canada so I can’t buy from you but would if I could.
What can I say? I have had the G5000 active, which can't be that different from this one and I am very, very satisfied so far. Zero problems. I also have to say mine is rated at 46db and I can hardly hear it and I do have pretty good hearing. I can sleep with the door open and the machine running and I sleep perfectly
Ironically, at this very moment in time (Dec 2022), Meile seems to be better in terms of availability (sales person has some coming in right now) vs. Bosch's 300/500/800 which now have lead times of 14 months or more.
I'm confused by your statement of Miele being the most reliable brand, yet there are 5 other brands that show fewer service calls in the first year. Would LG or Whirlpool be better options for reliability?
Do the different brands measure the sound level in the same way? I heard Miele uses the highest volume level as its figure while others uses the lowest level. There can be different volume levels during different cycles. It should be measured during the loudest time during the entire wash cycle and be reported accordingly. Is there any consistency between the numbers reported by the manufacturers? I would trust a group like Consumer Reports doing independent testing over the brochure from any manufacturer.
If you compare the 5006 to say the 7106 model the units are similar in terms of motor, wash system, wash pressure etc. Features are a little different but overall comparable models.
Our fully integrated Miele dishwasher stopped working and Miele wanted almost 1k to fix it. I expect that the machine should last a lot longer. The reputation and quality for lasting 20 years is obviously false advertising and a bunch of baloney. You can’t get any deals on new machines and only Miele can fix them at absorbent prices. Very unhappy with their product and attitude
