I had both the mark 1 and mark ii and wanted to upgrade to the M6 ii but then decided to switch to sony since the M system is dead 💀. For $800 I would get the sony ZV e10 is everything the m50 but better and cheaper and the lens selection is all the same as M50 plus a ton more. Yes the M50 is good but for that money you can do better in my humble opinion

I'm just starting out and have the Mark I M50. I'm completely happy with it and I don't feel I'm wanting/needing more at this point.

The Mark 1 M50 is great! If your happy, no need to upgrade.

No clean hdmi out and digital stabilization sucks. I have the M50 and love it as a walk about camera but it's not great to blog with if you want clean hdmi out. The canon m50 mark ii has clean hdmi not the mark 1

Very true, yet using the usb cam corder feature does really well as a starter. The Mark 2 is way better.

I bought mine when it came out. The autofocus is a mess in 4K mode paired with the crop it's useless as a 4K recorder. However as a talking head recorder and good lighting it's perfect in 1080. For RU-vid 1080 is all you need anyway.

Like I said, great starter RU-vid camera. And 1080 is all you can do for the webcam feature anyway. If you want to shoot 4K you’re better off investing in a higher quality camera than a budget one.
