I haven't tried a gorillapod yet but your videos always make me want one. For my vlogging I just use the Manfrotto Pixi and Manfrotto full sized tripod. I don't really leave the house much so it's just me constantly switching back and forth between the two for better shots on my counter while I bake and shots of me knitting in my chair 😅 but when I do go out I love the size of the Pixie, if I'm knitting in public I can just put my camera on a shelf or a table and angle it. It's small enough to fit in my purse or camera back, but I think a gorillapod would give me a lot more options for angles and height
@@BenjaminBrandon I think it would help in kitchen shots because I don't have a lot of counter space to stand my tripod up and I could have some cool aerial shots of kneading the dough. It'd be so cool looking!
Dude! Very true about being able to angle the camera on the switchpod. lol "use your camera bag". Ohh man my nerves just cringed when the camera fell lol. Yeah I think I personally like the Gorilla pod better than the switch. Nice breakdown bud!
The switch pod is much more stable for hand help like the pan shot you did with the legs open using two legs to get better stability. Instead of using it in the "vlog" mode
I actually purchased the SwitchPod with Head and honestly, for $120, it's a total regret. Although it's well made and it serves its vlog purpose, I feel that's all it really does well. For the 90% of the time that I'm at home, not being able to adjust the legs has been a real issue. Also for travel, the Gorilla Pod works with any surface, making it versatile - the SwitchPod requires a flat surface in order to stay up. There's no real Fuji vlogging lens either unless you're ok with walking around with a heavy and bulky vlogging set up, usually just use my GoPro now. I definitely feel like I fell for all the influencers, even when watching their videos now, most are using the gorilla pod still.
Saw someone mention this, even though this is an old video (by yt standards) helped me decide it's not what I need. I don't vlog I want a small tripod to mount my phone for additional angles while shooting with my other cameras. So more inclined to go with the goby. I spotted the security guy in the background at the park keeping an eye on you. Did he ask if you had a permit? :-p
