Some tasty playing you've got going on there! This video does a good job talking about the pros and cons. And I agree that the backpack is so handy and good; I got it for free with mine when I got it from Zzounds. I've been using the Helix since 2020 and I don't see any reason to change. Until a Helix killer can do all the flexible routing and handle multiple inputs as well as the Helix does (separate paths for electric and acoustic, for example) the Helix will never die.

I have Worship Tutorials and Tone Junkie’s Tone Matched IRs and my Helix sounds GLORIOUS! Got rid of all my pedals and amps and have never looked back!

I was thinking about it if my Helix gave out, would I buy another one or get something like the fractal Fm9, QC, or something else, and I decided I actually would get the Helix. Line 6 has impressed me so much as a company, It's the brains of my studio, midi controller for my Aeros Looper and Meris LVX, tons of sends and returns, great FX, super easy to use. I love it

The helix is great if you dont have 2000' sqft for amps, pedals, and wiring. Run a boss bd compressor at very minimal settings after the helix. It basically erases any of the digital feeling of the tone.

What speakers do people typically use for Helix? I currently have a Line 6 Firehawk FX that I bought years ago and never really used. I'm thinking about getting one of the Line 6 Powercabs, but I'm not sure what people most recommend.

Great question, journeymodz. I got my helix in 2019, and I to sold all my pedals and amps except a Blackstar MKII 100watt head with a 2x12 cabinet that I was using in a band I was in right up to Covid. And then I wasn't. In late 2021, I picked up two Headrush 12" speakers. Being FRFR, these speakers really capture the sound of everything the helix has to offer. The Helix sounds great coming out of the Blackstar, but in that situation I use it mostly as a pedalboard. I would also love to hear what other Helix lovers are using as their output amplification.

Did you have the squeaky pedal or the pedal error that you can't go back down 0%, but stops around 3%-6%? I heard these was a problem.

I’ve definitely heard of this being an issue, however, I’ve owned two LTs and not had this issue! I do know that even if you buy a used LT and run into issues Line 6 will fix it for free.

I'm not sure honestly. I think it was to be more competitive in the market with the introduction of units like the Kemper Player, the Hotones Ampero II series, Headrush prime, Fender Tone Master, etc.

What’s better? UA pedals? QC? Many would argue they are all lateral moves. The fact that new products are not coming out anymore that really move the needle tells me modeling has just about peaked.

I think the only improvement we will continue to see is the availability of modeling becoming cheaper and cheaper but I think you're right that many companies are now competing for a minuscule difference in sound quality.

Helix is not consistently the best selling. Whilst it has undoubtedly been a huge seller, the QC became more popular seller in recent years whilst the fractals have the best reputation. As a Helix owner myself, I think its important not to blind ourselves with our own confirmation bias. It's a good all round platform but there are better sounding modelers now

Even with the most up to date firmwares? I feel like all these modelers nowadays (L6, Fractal, Fender, Ampero, Tonex, Kemper etc) are really reaching a singularity where all of them nail the tube sound with great accuracy.

your review doesn't include the tunes that are widely used today by all genres from helix. therefore, it is not helping someone like me in terms of what to buy as a first time buyer or first timer into the profiler digital amps. Yeah..
