Very nice video, Amir. You and I appear to have similar DAW setups (mine is Cubase via a Fractal FM3 with Kali Audio monitors). That said, I'm currently running Windows 11 (32 GB RAM, i9-10900 CPU), but find Windows to be a generally finicky and fragile platform these days - my own experience has been that things were a little more stable in the past. I'm seriously considering migrating to the very box you reviewed here, and was wondering what your thoughts are about the viability of running a DAW setup. Thanks, and keep up the great work! Srini
Last year I bought the M1 16/256. I soon found out that despite its performance for everday task, the lack of storage and the ram limitations made for a dismal performance in audio production. At least for me. I cloned the internal drive on an external 512 lighting ssd. Still the inability to upgrade your ram without paying the apple tax is a bit frustrating. I decided that I am going back to a pc whereby I can upgrade my ram and ssd with out paying hundreds or thousands of dollars to apple. I like the mac mini and will keep it to watch Netflix & hulu . However, I can get a 9th gen I7 with 32 gigs of ram and a 1tb ssd for under $600. Sure it may not be as snappy as the M1 but for audio production, it will be fine and work flawless. Not to mention I won’t have to purchase new plugins because of an apple os updat.😊
Hi. I am planning to buy a machine and i am very much attracted towards mac mini . But i am confused that will it be enough. I am very limited user of the function. Basically i just play dota2 almost for 4-5 hours and do minor video editing and screen recording. Will it be sufficient?
The debate on storage is stupid on Apples part. Having 256GB of storage is pathetic. Just because the average Joe who gets an entry level computer doesn't mean they just do basic stuff. What the hell does Apple think for the people who get the entry level computer? Do nothing? Don't store anything? That and the ports. Minimum should be 512GB of storage (it probably should be 1T of storage by today's standard since everything is getting bigger data and all) and 4 ports.
