i have this, its awesome. They really upgraded the bluetooth headphone experience too. More stable, goes farther and I was even connecting with the LDAC codec immediatly. I live in a congested area and not one blip in performance.
The buttons should be remapable in first place. Ok, I get that the fire tvs are so cheap because of some advertising, but hey, even with remap the name is still on the button. AT LEAST I would expect that their remote pro allows remapping of all Buttons (including the TV button), as it costs as much as some fire tv with remote
@@rowemeloneil3247not really, I do the same mostly. RU-vid is great when you don’t want to commit to a movie - which is 90% of the time. On RU-vid I can find anything I’m interested in.
Definitely worth buying!!!!!! Made such a massive difference plus DOLBY VISION / HDR10 / 4K can’t go wrong!!! ONLY WORTH IT ON BLACK FRIDAY AND AMAZON TRIAL MEMBERSHIP FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY 😉
There's nothing really new with this version to get it. The ambient mode is pointless. The Wifi 6E isn't noticeably faster than the 6. And who needs all that extra storage. Don't waste your money on this unless it goes on sale for half price.
That is true. There is a familiarity across the apple devices. I think it works both ways for Android users or Windows users. What you know just isn’t there. Thanks for watching.
Pound for pound or in this case price for price the 4K Firestick Max is a fantastic buy and solution. I do have an Apple TV on another TV and do enjoy it a lot but it costs way more. The Max works great with pretty fast navigation. The Voice command is also great. I agree that Amazon does push their stuff but hey, they make the device. I recommend it for those needing a solution to give new life to their TV and for a low buy in price.
Why would you as for them to change out from the micro USB to a USB-C? That would make most of us that have attachments such as the ethernet adapter to buy a new one instead of just using the same one I have on my current stick.
Hi sir does this stick has a motion smoothing? Because my recently bought google tv doesnt has it i really don know about it at first i thought all new smart tv has it.
I use all three. My favorite by far is Apple TV. Like you said, its the ads. There is a reason we get these things, its because we want more control over our content. If you can't even find what you want on the device, whats the point?
Thanks for sharing your experience. It is always good to hear from people who have used multiple devices. I started on Apple TVs in 2011 and have never seen an ad. It is very off putting to see it on both Google and Amazon. You are right, that is why you pay more for an Apple TV. Thanks for watching.
I have the previous version of the 4k Max, and love it. For the price it offers so much. Always wait for the Prime deals or black Friday to get these as you save normally 30-40%. Also look out for any Trade In deals Amazon might be offering. I will not upgrade yet as I do not have a WIFI 6E system as I will be going to WIFI 7 from my current 5, so no benefit. The extra storage is not worth upgrading for and really do not like that the Disney+ button has been removed. I agree the interface is cluttered because of all the ads. Would really like to see a 4k Max Pro without ads, would even pay an extra 10 bucks to get this.
Hope it goes on sale tomorrow for their 2nd Prime day. Realized the one (of 4) i use the most is the oldest/slowest and its time to upgrade it. Also looking for the backlit remote for the theater room. Mostly using echo devices, couple of Blink cameras and recently got those Reolink cameras that track persons or pets. They are awesome!
It is nice being able to upgrade and shift out the older models. I was disappointed to not see this go on sale for a little off. You might want to get the Alexa Remote Pro. The backlit keys are nice. I would definitely wait for that to go on sale. Thanks for watching.
AppleTV may be cleaner UI, but the info that you see about what the show is about is super useful, also IMDB ratings. saves you clicking around to find out more. but I agree the ads are absolute pain thank you for the comparison! 🍹
NO! Before even watching this video. Not until they change their UI. Amazon has the worst UI of any streaming device, including other android/Google based OS devices. The apps row, which people use the most is a tiny ribbon of hard to see apps, showing only a few of your apps, directly below the thing that takes up over 30% of the screen (a huge ad.) Then add their overly complicated menu navigation.
You should never pronounce that wake word 🙂 Otherwise very informative video. I also agree AMZN should wake up and use USB-C on the Fire TV Stick. Heck, they can add a MicroSD slot that can be used for more storage.
I got the fire stick 4k max on Amazon at a low $39.99 today . I purchased it to be able to install the Blue Stream fiber tv app that it carries it , since I am subscribed to Blue stream (I live on a gated community and my HOA includes Blue stream service) , and that allows me to watch Fox News and Fox business news without interruption , contrary to the Roku I have from 3 years ago . Roku is getting obsolete in many aspects and besides not carrying the app , it is getting way slower lately so , time to let it go and get on with the new technology . That is for my Den`s Samsung smart tv . The one tv LG C3 77" in my family room has a Nvidia Shield Pro connected that works perfectly , so no problem there .
My current firestick 4ks work so probably won't upgrade. I do love firesticks though. I've been using them for several years now. I prefer the interface over my parents Roku. Direct TV button? Really? Why?
We have 3 TVs, and all of them have both Fire Sticks and a Roku of one type or another. I even have both on my monitor, mainly for casting from my phone or tablets. We didn't mean to collect so many, but they go on sale a lot, and they have all proven to be very reliable. My Roku LT from 2011 is hooked up to our rarely used bedroom TV. It is slow, and some of the newer apps don't work, but it still functions as well as it ever did. Both streaming devices have enough unique strengths that having both works well. I like the Fire Sticks because I have a couple of Echo hooked up to it. , my wife prefers simpler menu set up on the Rokus. Both are amazing devices. For those of us who grew up with just 3 or 4 TV channels, the ability to watch what we want when we want to is a dream cone true.
I love the new 4K Max. I have a lot of apps and on day one I used up 8GB of memory. Returned my Cube, the new Max has a sharper picture and it doesn’t try to talk to me. You’re right about the fire tv homepage, it’s a total hot mess (especially the ads) and I never use it.
I'm ticked at Amazon for two things: The abundance of advertising. Not allowing you to customize the app buttons at the bottom of the remote. This irks me badly.
I have both, the Apple Tv 3rd Gen (64GB) and the 4K Max. Apple is our go to for streaming movies because the resolution, in my opinion, looks a lot clearer than anything I stream on the Firestick. I primarily use the 4K Max to listen to Tidal because it supports MQA and the Apple does not. Once I pull the trigger on a dedicated music streamer ( Eversolo) I won't be using the 4k Max anymore. Maybe throw it in the spare bedroom for when the mother-in-law comes to visit. 🤔🤭
Too much power will cause that issue. 5V outlet is all u need. If u use anything higher than that it will run hot. Cleaning apps catch files will also help with freezing or slow activities. Hope that helps
I needed a streaming device for the guest bedroom so were putting the 4k Firestick in there since the Roku was crazy slow [Older model] I picked up the Firestick 4k Max for 39.99. We have a 70-inch Vizio 2k, not 4k, and a 3.1 Samsung soundbar so I dunno if it will sound better
I think the 4k Max is the best option for a guest bedroom or a primary TV. I don't think you will hear much of a sound difference. Your sound bar would be the limiting factor in processing what the Fire TV stick sends out.
I really appreciate that approach. There are benefits to both. Like you I prefer Apple TV. But it doesn’t make sense for a lot of people. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Who cares what it looks like, it’s hidden behind a tv. USB or usb c. Irrelevant of course. The Fire sticks are by far the best bang for buck. I’m an apple guy for laptops and phone but for streaming no thank you. Too many daddy loopholes to jump through. The firesticks are amazing. The nvidea shield is the best but firesticks are close 2nd and much cheaper. Others will disagree but that’s irrelevant to my opinion based on usage. Cheers
I just go over what’s different and what is not. I think the USB C thing is good to point out with the EU climbing up everyone’s but about it. Then Amazon still uses the cheapest thing they can find. As for streaming devices, to each their own. The Fire TV Stick is the best bang for the buck when it comes to streaming. If the other non streaming features don’t offer value, it doesn’t make sense to spend more. That is the reason I can’t get behind the Cube. It’s not worth the money to me. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for a great video you make all seem clear. I have iPhone, iMac. So thought hey! It must beApple tv for me. Bought one having installed it just doesn’t work well I have message on corner of screen all the time. Despair saw me at Firestick and it’s great very intuitive. I can look past the ads. I agree with another comment that it would be great to have RU-vid button. Maybe you suggest to Amazon they leave one button open and user can select what they want it to do in settings.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It is great for others to hear. I can appreciate all that you are saying. The Fire TV Stick is a great option. Also, the RU-vid button would be so much better. Or just a blank button
Mine died after a week. There’s no video, not even FireTV logo. It just died after I came back 2 hours later. I can hear sound on the background but no images.
WiFi 6e has nothing to do with your provider. Your provider sends your maximum speed. How you distribute it is up to you. Your provider may send out a router that only does WiFi 5 or 6. But you can upgrade your router to the new WiFi 7 if you want.
Team Apple 4k all the way. The ecosystem alone is nuff said. And Fk Ads! I got rid of my fire tv because of that reason! Ads should not be on my product I just bought.
I am with you on both accounts. Apple TV looks great and ties in so nicely with everything Apple. It’s annoying that you never stop paying Amazon after you buy their products. Thanks for watching.
Deciding on whether to get an Apple TV or this product, I’ve recently bought an Aqara G4 video doorbell & want to have a streaming device that displays the doorbell video when it’s rung. I’ve currently got a Chromecast Ultra
Hey Gareth, I hope you are doing well. It is great to see you in the comments. Definitely the Apple TV. Especially with you being an Apple person. It just ties in with your other stuff. You can sync your photos app and bring up some of those sweet photos you take on the big screen. No ads and an overall cleaner experience. I think it is a nice step up from Chromecast. What does your Chromecast tie into now that you have Apple devices. Apple TV will complete the circle for you. Hope that helps. Take care my friend and have a great day.
In the UK it has gone down to £49.99 for Black Friday week from £69.99 I got it for £35 as I traded in an older Firestick and got 20% off plus £1 credit. Very happy!!
Great info so what do I do with the old fire stick? erase all data and then what give it to the neighbor I detest and tell them merry xmass you old fart ? send it back to amazon ?
I love your option of giving it to your neighbor 🤣 I support that. You can also look at a trade in. The real value of the Amazon trade in is the discount towards other products when the holiday sales start. Or give it to the neighbor. Who knows, you might help someone cut the cord giving them their first Fire TV Stick.
Personally, i don’t think WiFi6 is that important. I know most streaming services recommend around 10mbps internet connection. If you have that speed, WiFi 5 has you covered. Now if you want to future proof with some more processing power or use some of the other features, it’s a good update. Especially when it goes on sale during the holidays.
My mom was on the Amazon Fire TV ecosystem a few years back. Worked great, but the advertising became unbearable! Today, she’s on Roku TV - much better.
You can download the Apple TV app on the Fire TV Stick. That is weird that you don’t have the Apple TV app on the Echo show 15. After you mentioned this, I double checked and saw the Apple TV app on mine. Maybe check for an update on the Echo Show 15. I don’’t know why it wouldn’t be there.
@@decosse01 I did try that but it's just so much pfaff, I have to change my Amazon account, it caused connectivity issues on my computer. Just dominoed way more than I thought it wouild. I mainly want this for my mother's TV and it just wasn't woth it. I wish Amazon recognized that Ireland is a market too, not just some weird offshoot of the UK that they mostly ingnore. Credit where credit is due after Brexit they built a fulfillment centre here but online services are still very suboptimal.
I used fire sticks up until 5 years ago that i switched to nvidia shield tv pro. A week ago i bought Fire Cube to try out the Super Resolution and see if it was any better than AI upscaling on the shield. It isnt at all, it's miles away from it. But i was unpleasantly surprised of how incredibly cluttered and difficult to navigate it was compared to the shield, and even compared to the memories i have from using sticks in the past.
As for AI up scaling on the Shield, Its a gimmick, look close at a 1080p video and change the settings. It does very little. A Nvidia marketing gimmick to get potential buyers to pay on a over priced device that lacks current video codec s
@xeon2k8 If you have a TV that big you must play alot of DVD rips and have a home theater setup. If thats the case then yes Shield at this time would be better since it supports every audio codec. As for a Tiny TV don't assume I have one. I was just referring to 1080p video !!!!
@xeon2k8 It's not bad, except there's nothing "AI" about it lol. It's borderline fake advertising. It's basically a scaler that's based on Lanczos with no anti ringing filter, an extra layer of edge enhancement and sharpening. That's all the Shield's "AI" upscaling does.
One thing that I wish Apple Tv 4k or even Nvidia shield pro would offer is a way to wirelessly connect to the TV. My TV is flush mounted on a wall without any stands or shelves. Therefore I could only use something like a fire stick that plugs directly into the HDMI port and doesn't require a stand or shelf to set it on.
Not gonna happen because even if they introduced that it's going to have latency and audio video sync issues. Wireless technology still gotta go a long way to compete with wired technology like hdmi and usb
I like Amazon's Alexa products still I'll never give up using Roku for I think Roku is way Superior to the lesser Amazon TV streaming products. No I'm not saying Amazon makes crappy TV streaming products they're not for me for one of the reasons is when I tried Amazon all they did was try to push their ecosystem on to me unlike Roku or similar products that don't push their ecosystem because they don't have a major ecosystem like Amazon's for they make only one product unlike Amazon that has multiple products that are all interconnected.
Before I see this video, short answer is no. While I’m completely into the Apple Ecosystem and think the TV is the best streaming platform out there, Roku is my second choice. I used Google and Amazon and hate both of them. Never used Nvidia so I can’t form an opinion on that.
Apple is great only if you stream, but if you want to side load anything then no. Apple is a very closed ecosystem😢. The New Fire Max is actually very good. And the new Apple TV has a binded A15 cpu 😊
