Great review Shane! I’ve had two copies of the Lumix 12-60 and I found both to be sharper across the frame than the two copies of the Leica 12-60 I tried. While I have the 12-35 f2.8, I frequently use the 12-60 for casual everyday photography.

Thanks for watching. Let me know in the comments if you have tested this lens out or already own it. By the way, I was testing a new wireless pack for the first time and the audio was a little bit hot, I've tried to fix it the best I could. The last two weeks have seen me take some of the best lightning photos I've ever taken with this kit lens. It just does what's necessary. Shooting from 5.6 to f11 at night it gives me beautiful colour and sharpness when focussed to infinity. I'd love an infinity symbol on the focus ring though.

I got the Leica version with my G9, and I absolutely love it. Such a great focal range.

Great review. I have paired my G9 II with the Leica 12-60 and the Lumix 14-140. Great for being out and about with a small and light camera bag.

I reviewed almost all of your review videos, but I couldn't find exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm about to buy the S5ii today. My question is: I don't have a light while shooting videos in car sales markets with the G9ii. That's why I shoot the cars in the shop in a dark environment. So I can't decide which one to buy, S5ii or G9ii. In other words, I do not work entirely at night. I only take interior and exterior videos of the cars in the shop.

The S5II is a way better low light camera. The G9II has better IBIS and and frame rates.

I have this lens since Oct 2020 and usually have it on my G80/G85. So great that it is compact yet has such good quality. As you said for travel a good choice. I also have the P Leica 12-60 f2.8-4 which is heavier but for me the big difference is that is is slightly sharper from around 40 compared with the Lumix 12-60. Some might think that it is odd having two lenses with the same focal length but if you are out with two cameras and these lenses then one can be the video set up and one the photography which is very practical!

Awesome. I got my original with a G85 back in the day as well. These lenses are way better than people realise. Thanks for the info and comments. :)

Nice one Mate - I've had that lens for ages, I don't actually use it that much as the variable aperture is a bit of a pain when the light is not right... However, I do enjoy the look that the lens gives me on my G9 and G85 :) Sometimes even a bit of a "Mist Film Look" - Maybe it's just my copy LOL.... Great Stuff Again :)

Thank you for Shane for creating this valuable video🙏. I'm interested to buy G9II in my country once it is available. In past I was using Lumix G85 for day time 4K video only with decent IBIS but shifted to Sony system for video autofocus and low light noise free ISO range (till 1600) starting with camera a6400. I am using APSC sensor because I want deep depth of field plus medium blur ( i.e. not so shallow and achieved with aperture level f4 with sigma contempory 16mm-f1.4, 30mm-f1.4 lenses respectively) and ISO range without noise upto ISO 1600 on a6400. For extreme dark conditions with a6400 I use Cine1,Cine4 tuned profiles. I am fully satisfied with Sigma 16mm,30mm of aperture level f4 till noise free upto ISO 1600 and with noise upto ISO4000 if extended with noise reduction. But at some places gimbals are not allowed so thinking of G9II as a6400 replacement. Now, MFT can acheive deep depth of field easily as I know using G85 camera in video with best IBIS handheld. My question is based on new Lumix G9II and old Sony a6400.For video related to low light ISO performance outdoors in low light dark nights(example:with street lamps lights ). Is G9II with auto dynamic boost on with ISO at 1600 and 3200 is equivalent or better, both noise and color accuracy wise in comparison to Sony a6400 at same range ISO 1600 and 3200 . As a6400 is old sensor.I will use Lumix 10-25 f1.7 lens at any aperture at night with G9II.

Check my review of the G9II - I compared it against my Sony FX30 which is an APS-C camera in low light.

@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you Shane for a valuable reply 🙏❤️. I had checked G9II review video again and at time stamp 16:04 to 16:42 I got my answer for G9II . The timestamp has the same lighting scenarios I face with. G9II is a very advanced MFT camera I can see now and 100% sure it can stand with FX30 and old a6xxx series or even can perform better as per my needs. Thank you Shane for your help 🙏❤️.

If the G9II was out at the same time as the 6700 I would have gone with the G9II as I loved my G9 when I had it. I picked up Sony A7IV and a 6700. Just something about Lumix IBS and colours I love, I might buy the G9II next tax refund time. I've spent too much money in Sony glass to change back :(

Fair enough mate, once you get lenses it's hard to switch sometimes. That said, the Sony lenses are pretty easy to move these days.

I can’t part with my kit lens 1. It’s still expensive to replace (not cheap to buy as a stand alone) 2. It’s dual ois 3. It’s incredibly light and sharp 4. It’s weather sealed 5. Great travel lens

Hi Shane! I didn't know the f3.5-f5.6 was available as a kit with the g9ii. I've still got mine from my g85. I've also got the f2.8-f4 from my g9. When I get the g9ii, I'm thinking of going body only and get the 9mm before my next vacation.

I think these kits could be different in different parts of world and at different times from what I've seen online. The 9mm is a great lens mate, I am really enjoying the copy I recently got my hands on.
