@@MrAmoLLL Amazing, holds up really well, definitely better to go for an SBD belt. Even though it costs more, it will last lay longer and is higher quality so better workouts.
Pioneer now has the "Pioneer Adjustable Lever" or PAL, that allows one to instantly adjust your lever belt in half inch increments over a two inch area with no screw driver. Only costs 65 bucks and works on any lever belt. For me it's made any and all prong belts obsolete. Even better than SBD since you get half inch increments.
i play football and i like to lift to aid my performance but after football im going to start powerlifting. i bought an inzer belt and an adjustable pioneer lever that just came out. It does the same thing as the sbd but a little better because there are 1/2” increments. Plus you save like 50+ bucks. The only problem with the lever is it is not yet ipf approved but it could be in the future. that doesnt matter to me yet tho. After football i plan to lift for a year to a year and a half before competing because I want covid to die down and i want to get used to powerlifting. You can also customize pioneer belts but that is sometimes really expensive. but if you already have a lever belt and dont care about no ipf rating on the lever, the pioneer lever belt is a way better option.
Very informative useful video man, great job you came in clutch. Probably gonna get the SBD belt soon even though its priced crazyy. Worked super hard this week so ill be able to afford it, cant believe im going for it 🤣
Just got mine I settled for and SBD coz ordering inzer belt with shipping almost cost the same as an SBD which is available in the country but like you said the belt is crazy good 👍
Thx for the info, I have a Velcro belt, it works for me for now but when I want to upgrade I will to one of these, as I am only a beginner In lifting, I like it, it’s fun, and with your info, it has made me better, thanks again, have a good day Justin
Watching this after already ordering mine yesterday. I’m not fussed about price if what I’m ordering is considered one of if not the best on the market and has a lifetime guarantee.
Perfect content justee! I just placed an order for an sbd belt today and hoping to use it in my meet coming in 2 weeks lol, If its not broken in I will use my inzer belt
Just a quick heads ups, both use the same type of leather just that sbd uses a dyed leather finished. Inzer uses a stiffening leather ourside of ithe regular 6.5mm piece of vegetable tanned Leather as a way to not soak perspiration and not deform over time, rhats why inzers last a long time. Overall inzer is a solid choice
I was told horror stories about the SBD break in period. How bad was it for you? I am not nearly as strong as you as I just got started but I can see myself self lifting for a long time in the future and thought that the SBD will be a good lifetime investment. I also like the hybrid adjustment.
@@al-ww5jp Deadlift 340 LBS, Squat 200, bench less. Not sure where that puts me. Still havent gotten a belt as tried almost every brand and size from gym bros but never really liked one enough to get one. Never found a SBD so far though.
@@dipro001 Those are still rookie numbers, my man, you could use one if you feel your back alot, but even then I would recommend going raw for some time until you build up more core strenght and heavier lifts. But again, you can buy one regardless of anyone's opinion.
They spiral them up in the box so they're already somewhat broken in when they arrive. Mine felt basically fine within a week. It might not be fully broken in yet, but it feels more or less okay out of the box and definitely good after a week.
@@david15891 Mine arrived a few days ago. It is ready to use out of the box. Really laughed at all these online myths after wearing it. good product. The adjustability is something all belts should have.
How is the belt now after some years? Still happy with the quality? Any de laming of the leather or suede layer? Any crinckles or cracks in the leather? Any buckle problems?
I live in fucking Europe… Basically my choices are cheap shitty off brand belt or very expensive SBD belt. Shipping belts from US like inzer cost very much, also add 25% tax and border customs.
I got a belt on Amazon and it feels like sandpaper is rubbing against my stomach. Are either of these belts like that? Or are they actually bearable when it comes to how comfortable they are?
just ordered small sbd storm knee sleeves several days ago.. wanted the belt too but M is sold out.. fack it.. gonn invest in it when it becomes available again..
I heard similar responses for people who went inzer->SBD belt. Some people compete with their Inzer just for dead attempts. I guess I'm lucky to feel a lot stronger on deads with sbd rather than my inzer :P.. Thanks for your input!
@@nikoladrpa4908 yo! yeah, I see the same trend going on too. I have a theory on why people do so. 1. The prong belt is a bit looser which many prefer on deadlifts. It's also a pain in the ass to tighten up the prong belt. Lastly, the prong belts are not nearly as chunky as the sbd belt out of the box. 2. The sbd belt is a very stiff belt. It comes out of the box like a 2x4 plank. Only after hours of physical manipulation does it somewhat shape towards a human waist. Also, the sbd belt can get extremely tight. Often people prefer a tighter fit on squats rather than deadlifts. I could be way off, but that's where my guestimation is at when I see people rocking both pieces of equipment. :p
What size did you get for the SBD belt? My boyfriend and I both lift and I'm thinking of sharing a belt. Would you recommend sharing the adjustable SPD or is it better to each get our own belt? We are about 5 inches in difference in our waist.
Measure both of your waist and check the sizing to see if one belt will coincide. Obviously buying separate belts are better depending if either of you plan on gaining or losing weight.
If you're injured I advise you to address it with a professional in the field to get a true assessment on your situation. Else if it isnt that bad, keep going without a belt. It's a tool and not something to depend on. I hope your back gets better!
@@everydaybacksbroken2886 I have 2 herniated discs and a degenerated disc all in my lower back. If you don’t want to buy a belt, I totally get it bro, but please don’t do barbell squats without one. The name of the game is longevity, and you don’t want to miss out on gains due to injury. I recommend doing weighted Bulgarian split squats, walking lunges, and hip thrusts over the traditional barbell squat with a bad back. I missed out on 2 full years of gains because I was stubborn and had a similar attitude. It’s just not worth it, even if your form is perfect. I don’t want anyone to have to go through a completely avoidable situation like I did. Stay safe bro.
@@ryanbeall9632 I love lifting and i hope my journey wont come to a stop from accumulation of minor injuries. Trying to strengthen my core recently feeling some kind of burning sensation in my lower abdomen when going deep in squats.
hey! I'd recommend learning about training and experimenting with your own training. Brendan Tietz has some great beginner information explaining RPE and fatigue in training.
How's the belt sizing? Was large still have a good fit? I'm a 34 inch waist but I have a belt on the last setting which is 31" I'm thinking of getting a medium, My waist if fluffy fat I think lmao
I have a 34 inch waist and I got a large. There's a bit a slack on my belt. I intend on getting bigger to fill it out. If you are 34 or less in waist (and plan to lose weight), you'll be better off with a medium.
Its pretty expensive but it's a belt that'll outlast a lifetime. I use my rogue belt for deadlift it has a little give wich I like for deadlift. And squats I use my sbd belt.
