Never heard 2MAD. Same here! It’s perfect. I skip breakfast still and feel pretty good, but it’s nice to know I can switch it up time wise without serious downsides
I have been doing the carnivore diet for 4 days. Nothing but red meat, zero cal energy drinks and black coffee. I have lost 12 lbs in those 4 days. I started Tuesday at 250lbs even... tonight Friday I am at 238lbs. I would say that is pretty damn good. I am getting fatty liver disease which is now the leading cause of death in men over 50. This diet is unbelievable. In two months I should be down 40 or maybe even 50 lbs at this rate.
After three years as carnivore, l agree 👍 with you. Satiety is high. Gradually the windows between eating naturally widened. When l tried to fast as a vegan l could hardly move on day three, but now, l don't feel much of a difference in energy. How liberating!🥓🥚🥩
Thanks for clarifying this fasting thing. I don't eat past 5 or 6 in the evening and usually eat around 10 or 11 in the morning. But I thought I was supposed to do a 24 hour fast once a week or so. I haven't been able to bring myself to do that do I thought I was missing out on some extra health benefits. I now know that I am not missing out so I will continue with how I am doing things.
Love this. Seeing the info in a different way. I eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full. Thanks for putting out shorter videos that fit my attention span. I love your information but i don’t have the time to watch hour plus long videos
Not sure if it is right but I switch to OMAD when working nightshifts (7pm to 7 am, 2 to 4 weeks at a time with no days off); I eat when I wake up for the shift, try to keep it during daytime at about 5 pm. During my time off, I switch to 2MAD, and occasionally I still do the odd OMAD just because I don't feel hungry. On carnivore/pkd, just over 3 months. Dr Chaffee, just in case you read the comments - what would you suggest for night shift work?
I am now doing 2mad!! there is a point in carbs because when I do low carb my eyes brighten next day and my brain feels fresh!! not sure why....same with 24 hrs fast but with less strength...
I know you don't need to worry about calories in carno but i hear you need 2000 to 3600 calories for a guy. But i can eat a pound of ground beef and a new York steak and it doesn't seem to count for all that much calories maybe a thousand daily if i toss in hella butter. But i feel totally full of each of these meals. So should i straight up not give a shit about the calorie amount?
I eat 1kg of ground beef a day, cooked in tallow and cream cheese, and then add sour cream for even more fat I easily eat 3000-4500 calories a day on carnivore as a 5’6” male at 160lbs doing strength training and jogging 5/7 days a week
Hey Doc - I have noticed as I document my journey on RU-vid that if I eat 2-3 carnivore meals a day I will not lose weight. If I only eat OMAD I will lose weight. Is that a calorie issue or is that a matter of insulin spikes from protein? Thanks again for your continued help!
I'm confused with so much information that may not be conflicting at heart, but seems to be superficially. I'm back on Carnivore and was doing ADF which was not hard (only for a week) but it was easy because on Carnivore I'm not hungry. Between only eat when your hungry and until your full.....and don't under eat....there is NO sweet spot for me. I have a ton to lose by the way. OMAD seems pretty "natural" because I'm not hungry in the morning and a Big-A$$ ribeye at lunch keeps me full for the rest of the day. So if I'm losing weight, which end of those two pieced if advice to I need to move to? (I think most carnivore YouTUBE coaches that advise to not under eat would consider one steak a day....under eating.
I’m extremely, morbidly obese. Was considering fasting after seeing videos. But after hearing this. Why torture myself. Though fatty meats hard to eat with no teeth. 😂
I'm currently trying to heal a very damaged and inflamed gut. I'm down to meat, butter & coffee (coffee is about to be off the list too). Would fasting help by giving my gut a complete rest?
Great work. Get off the coffee asap. I don't think you need to intentionally fast as meat is very easy to digest and won't harm your gut. You could try some OMAD but if you're hungry then eat! Good luck :)
@@howtocarnivore Thanks mate! That’s great news! I’m currently chowing down on about 3000 calories a day and maintaining my weight, so it would’ve been sad news if you’d said fasting would be a good thing 😂❤️
You want fat burning not ketosis...if you eat ketones or carbs you stop weight loss..eat fats only..accelerate fat loss with exercise..coffee cafiene may or may not stop fat burning..typically at minimum you loose 0.2 lbs a day...to 0 4 lbs a day which stays between 0 4 and 0.6 when OMAD...then thonking about adding very minimum resistant absominal workouts to see what happens..min 40 min every other day
A carnivore diet is only a ketogenic diet if your in ketosis and measuring your ketone levels. Just because your eating carnivore does not necessarily mean your in ketosis
It depends how much fat you have on your carnivore diet; even if you eat just very lean meat, the absence of carbs will still put you in very mild ketosis. It's just physiological, and it works regardless of the ketone meter.
@@solexxx8588 Can’t agree with you on that. I was eating 1:1 protein to fat ratio and thought I absolutely should be in ketosis. Yeah, nah.. numbers were in the diabetic range. Depends on the state of your liver, insulin response, adrenal health, blah, blah 🤷♀️
