I take my protein shake 1hr before my workout, during that hour I stretch and loosen up muscles then I hit the gym, after my workout, i eat Whole Foods for protein source like eggs, natural PB/oatmeal for breakfast. And it has worked like a charm
Thanks man i am 15 and i use protien for extra gains didnt really know what or how to use i also gym at home cause gyms in switzerland are $800 at once for whole year so i do gym at home no professional advisor so its kinda hard but thanks for your tip
@@saurabhrikame3745 after workout dont listen to this guy he doesnt know what hes doing lol... after workout to build muscle cuz you are burning out protein fibers if u take protein before workout u will just endup burning out the protein... use protein to build muscle not for energy source
bullshit....we need amino enery i.e BCAA before workout and after workout you need protein like whey which absorbs soon to feed the muscle which are broken down during workut..
Taking protein before workout is really effective, it also helps boost stamina and keep you at the gym for a bit longer. You don’t feel tired. I would recommend to take it before the gym for better results
It doesnt matter. Lol. Just as he said in the video at the end. Get enough overall protein through out the day. What matters is where your blood flows, if you eat or drink something with calories more blood get send to the stumache for digesting. I suggest no heavy meals or no meal at all for atleast 1hour before workout. And after workout dont eat for 45-60 minutes, so the blood stays in your muscles. This improves restoring the muscle. Just drink water. You can actually feel when your blood goes through your arms and legs after cardio. If its cold outside and after the workout you go outside and it doesn't feel that cold no more, unless you stand stil and wait for a bit. That sensation tells exactly when its happening. Thats blood keeping you warm!
Wow thank you so much!! after watching so many videos with different views, my head was about to explode! And there you go in less than 3 minutes, a very simple answer: it doesn't really matter when you consume your proteins. as long as you're training hard and consuming enough proteins, you're all good!
I been taking whey protein and it’s best to not use it if you’re not working out that day. I use it like 30min before my workout, because it digest pretty fast; though I don’t use it every time I workout only if I feel I haven’t consume much protein or if I need something quick to digest before hitting the gym. It just feels great for me to consume it pre workout, because you’re sure you have enough protein in you during your workouts and after the workout. It benefits even more, because it’s helping you recover faster. Hope this makes sense.
I have a feeling that people who do studies on this might know more than we do. They suggest immediately before or after not an hour before or not an hour after. I'm not saying you're wrong or anything I'm just saying don't spread misinformation that isn't entirely correct
My personal’s suggestion was that it depends on whether or not you ate before workout. If you didn’t, take the Whey to get strength for it and eat after practice. If you did, take whey after. Whey is essentially there to replace a short meal with protein.
I like to take my protein shake after I workout because during I am eating a good source of protein way before I hit the gym. But What I really like to use while training is some BCAA/EAA it helps with Endurance, Reduce Fatigue, Increase Blood Flow and Improve Hydration that's what I do and it works out for me big time...
BCAA is proven junk. All supplements are junk, and protein powder is a tool, as been told in the video. that it helps you on stamina is between your ears. improve hydration is totally bullcrap bro. A protein is build upon Amino acids. and there are 3 amino acids your body cant create on its own and you need to obtain through food. Chicken breast, eggs, tuna and milk are in high content of those. BCAA is basically these amino acids in a jar. But a protein shake (whey) is made from milk. So it already has these amino acids in its protein. You eating eggs, and taking BCAA after does completely NOTHING
@@lucasdmc2631 from what I’ve read they say within a couple of hours is fine. As long as you have enough protein throughout the day is what’s more important. My suggestion is to have half your shake before your workout (30 to 60 minutes) then the other half after . Casein protein before you go to sleep is also very beneficial as it’s a slow digesting protein so your muscles are fed/repaired at night as well. Hope this helps bud
@@lucasdmc2631 Within 30 min of workout. With, meaning you workout and drink it before 30 min. no longer then an hour after for best results to muscles absorbing.
@@honeyspoonbeewrangler4550 about to start drinking it,I usually eat eggs or meat after workout, can you tell me can I eat those 2 and drink shake..or should I take one of those 2
When you train you basically break down the muscles and use protein from food and protein powder to build them back up. If you want more energy before a workout, use pre-workout (powder you mix with water)
Straight up. Just take it before for energy outlet and after workout for recovery. As everyone is different and needs to consume certain amount of protein each day to gain muscle or to just maintain weight. So, it can be consumed before and after just fine. Example, I require 127g of protein to gain muscle and I only consumed 45g before workout. So, I still need to consume more to fill up the days worth. So after is just fine.
I've been back to working out for three months now. I have been drinking a whey protein powder before my routine and am happy with the results so far. I have lost six pounds of fat and built back six pounds of muscle or so. But I also eat a full meal within a couple of hours after working out
If you want to lose weight I suggest before because some of these shakes have up 2 & over 400 calories per serving. Some more. The lowest protein powder I found was 100 Cal. a serving.
Most effective after workout, it’s fast digesting and fast absorbing which is ideal for for broken down muscle fibres which occurs during intense workouts. However, it can be taken any time during the day to meet or fill in your protein requirements - 2 grams of protein per Kg of bodyweight give or take a touch depending on the individual.
i love having my protein shake before my workout, mainly because i add fruit and get some carbs in. this helps me get some extra energy during my workout. downside is that it is sometimes a pain to workout on a full stomach
Rudolph Angel yes that’s a great idea, but some folks still need extra protein, especially if they’re feeling a bit hungry after +3-5hours of not eating anything. So there’s when the protein shakes come in handy, because it digest very quickly and it does a better job to consume it pre workout.
@@nathanielcarrasco5622 Yeah I did some research about it and they are recommending to drink also on rest days, just like the days you are working out bcoz you also need protein on rest days.
THANK YOU!!! Omg I cannot believe how many BOUGHT OUT SHILLED muscle heads videos I had to click through to get this answer .-. They be like: “I’ll tell you the best times to take your protein powder.... righhhhht after I talk about my food delivery service-“ annnnnd I’m done with this channel/video 😂💀 very thankful you gave the info clear and concise definitely deserves a thumbs up amigo. With love, from Texas
I prefer to have it after a workout because I feel like I will eat anything and everything. Keen to hear your thoughts on having a protein shake when you haven’t exercised?
I like to shake my protein an hour before workout. Wait for it to then settle down. After it settles down I tell the water to get rid of the unwanted protein. Then while working out i have a conversation with the protein and then afterwards I have a staring contest with my bottle. Then while drinking it I make sure I don't get my stomach wet and only take in the protein. Afterwards I use that water to hydrate myself for my next workout. Works like charm. It doesn't matter when you drink it. What matters is how you make the most out of it.
300ml is enough and two scoops. I prefer to take right after workout. Since it is mixed with water thats why it dissolves very quickly compared to milk. I eat boiled eggs in the morning and in dinner i go with light food like rice or Chinese or Stake
@@vijayamalayakingfisherwale2596 depends on weight as well and training levels. But youre not wrong, its been three weeks and with some significant results I also notice my bp is above 90 for hours and I sweat a lot than anyone in my house. So now i have started one and half scoop now
@@vijayamalayakingfisherwale2596 it depends on weight also, only 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight should be consumed everyday. Calculate it and confirm about your consumption
I take my first protein 2 scoops which is 48g protein with my oats for breakfast with 5g of creatine and then 2 hours when my stomach is feeling good without the feeling of feeling bloated with protein I start my workout, but 20 minutes before I start my workout I take a post workout supplement, when I'm finished working out within half hour I total 50g protein of chicken breast and boiled eggs with 3 spoons of rice which is pretty much lunch, 3rd meal is around 3 hours which is 50g of protein which consists of protein powder and oats and for dinner I'll consume another 50g of chicken breast with veges. So total amount of protein is roughly 200g of protein and I weigh 100kg
Is it okay to take protein shake without going gym because i m footballer so i think i do one kind of workout when i m playing football ?? Or i need proper workout like gym is necessary ?? Please guide
What you need is a proper diet. and if you struggle to eat enough protein the diet tells you to eat. a protein shake can help you boost up the amount of protein you eat. you can also boost up a meal by adding some in it. Like your oatmeal. if you do concider buying a protein powder I highely suggest: Buy a natural flavour or chocolate flavour. and check the ingredients. A proper protein powder has only 2 ingredients: Concentrated whey and Lecithin. and a chocolate flavour has a 3rd ingredient: Cocoa powder. and maybe some sugar.
idk which is better man, but i usually take it right after i do my workout. if i did it beforeso i probably would feel full to my stomach lmao which wouldnt be good since ill be doing a workout.
1 question i have🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️.....should we take protein supplement with milk aur with water and does it matter regarding workout....kindly answer thks
Study shows that if u have have not that many muscles and u are low on body fat use milk. If u also have not that many muscles and high body fat use water. If u are already shredded and u still cutting use water. I u are beginning to work out and u want to bulk and build muscle use milk. Water is only needed if u are in a calorie deficit. So in short.. if u need more body fat use milk. If u want to lose body fat use water. Not saying that if u are using water or milk. That u gonna lose or gain but ita all the little things that help.
But they have proteins that says take before and they have some take after.. So both is good just read the directions and don't take to much i guess. But idk im just learning.
I have been working out for over 5 years and gain a lot of muscle, my Best advice for Better results is first informal eat healthy and have a diet meal during the day. I will recommend taking a Protein shake after working out, why?? well, comment sense faster absorbing which is ideal for breaking down muscle fibers which occurs during intense workouts to observe all nutrients and if you want to pick up on your energy and strength it's best to take pre work-out before working out and use your protein shake to recover muscle and help them grow, later you can eat a prep meal like fish or chicken with rice etc.
Caleb Von Valino in that case just take it before your workouts, because it digest really quick like in under an hour, usually around 30min. If you do it while working out you might puke that shit out if you go hard 😂. I myself always take it 30-60min before my workout and I feel stronger each time I do that.
I can’t look for a video that’s in my situation but here’s my question If I take pre work out protein shake before my wrestling practice would that be good WHILE cutting weight , I’ll have to starve my self sometimes if I’m over my weight class
Kakashi Sensei the only way to cut weight in a healthy way is by losing all that extra fat not muscles! If you don’t have much muscle and struggling to lose weight. It must be your fat of that you’re not short enough to actually be in your weight class.
Can I take a 40g protein shake 1.5-2hours before my workout, then do my workout which lasts about 1.5hours, and take another 40g protein shake after my workout? Also is there a limit to how much protein my body can process in a single meal? Like if I take a 40g protein shake and also a 20g protein bar for 60g total protein in one meal, will my body use it all?
Either sounds fine take mine after because it just sounds better I.e when your muscles are resting and reconstructing I visualise protein helping that 🤷♂️
U r ryt sir daily protein intake matters.I usually take post workouts. My question is If whey protein takes abt 2-3hrs to get absorbed shouldn’t we take it half or an hour before workout? Thanku
What about twice like a scoop before and another scoop after workout. It’s safe to take about 50g of whey isolate twice in a day, Go ahead and take it guys… add it in your smoothie or whatever after workout.
