yup as someone who was born and raised in NYC (25 years) and moved to Chicago recently for work, Chicago trains definitely feels a lot more dangerous than NYC. i’ve gotten used to all the crazy things that u see / that happens on the train in NYC but Chicago is much different. almost every train car has a homeless person sleeping, talking to themselves or smoking. trains are much smaller in a chicago as well so that doesn’t help
And we for the life of us can’t get CPDs budget to stop getting inflated and can’t use that money to help the homeless. It’s like an endless cycle, can barely get cpd to patrol the train cars
I have yet to see anyone get robbed and if they got their asses beat it’s because they were talking shit. Every time I’m in nyc I see people getting robbed on the train. Homeless people and those doing drugs are not danger to you if you mind your own business.
I love NYC, but Chicago is completely underrated. I’m shocked LA doesn’t have the reputation Chicago does for crime. I hardly ever feel unsafe in Chicago. LA on the other hand forced me to stay on my toes practically everywhere.
I have lived in Chicago my whole life and I don’t find it very dangerous at all the transportation is pretty safe if you ask me and people just are always hating on Chicago the only thing I would say that feels the least safe is some of the parts of the south side
the news is not to friendly to chicago. Came to Chicago from Boston and absolutely love it. Yes bad areas but that can be said about any major city. 3.2 million people, of course your going to have a few crazies in there
People who talk about how great the public transportation system is in NYC tend to be tourists or live in Manhattan. Once you get into the outer boroughs where most native and working class new Yorkers live, it becomes a very very very different story. Try getting from Far Rockaway to the Riverdale, or Bayside to Flatbush. Chicago public transportation is definitely less developed than NYC, but its more compact size still makes it easier to get around even if you do have to take two buses and a train.
Have to look at this New York City. Subway is the best in the country where nowhere compared to the other countries although we do have the cheapest I don’t think New York Subway is safest never will be with as many people as there are in New York City but I think it’s a safest in a country I might be wrong, but that just my opinion
I’m from NYC n ppl get killed on out trains regular, I still ride them daily bcs I’m a NYer!! A Real NYer is a Do or Die! We don’t run from danger we just get through it✨🔥
Chicago is definitely dangerous but he’s a fool to think NYC’s trains are “definitely” safer 😂 especially in 2024. This guy must have still been in the honeymoon phase of his move or was trying to convince himself that he made the right decision.
He’s lying. The train system is much safer than anything I’ve been on in New York. I ride the CTA 7 days a week all year. I’m one the train at all hours. Yes, there are gangs on the red and green lines, with less extent on the blue, but they are just selling. That’s all. And if you don’t look at them and mind your own business they won’t even notice you. If you go looking for trouble, trouble will find you, and that is everywhere not just in Chicago. This dude is probably from Naperville 🙄
This guy doesn't know what he is talking about...the Chicago L is still pretty darn safe. I take the brown line everyday to and from work. I have never had any issues.
He doesnt like the train system He does not like commuting With such shoulders he Can call me any Time he wants I'm nearly retired and i'll be his own private driver for free Juste food and the same bathroom !!!!
He is definitely from the suburbs because our trains run 24/7 just like NYC lol the Metra to the suburbs doesn't run 24 hours lol people from Schaumburg and Naperville etc love saying they're from Chicago, no you're not lol that's a whole different city and it's 45 mins away. Chicago transportation is no more dangerous than NYC lbs
Not gonna lie. I thought I was gonna die in Chicago. It has the worst energy. Like always on edge. I would never live in a city that is not near the ocean though
Unfortunately it's that certain group of people who shall remain unnamed, though we all know who they are that are causing this problem. And for those who want to have reparations feel free to hop a boat back across the ocean.
No he is just a 🐱 if you fight back or carry and conceal they won’t bother you no more it kills me to see people complain about violence since it’s been a problem since humanity started how do we fight violence with violence to wrongs do make right when you don’t stand for peace and leave like this guy the bad people always win
