Tried it for the first time in S4 and while I find it very fun, the range is a very off putting. You need the pacience to get out of the 6-9 range of keys, After that, people have some sort of positioning awareness, but if you want to pug at the start of Dragonflight, I can't think of a worse healer.
@@Auzzy94 this sounds weird but i didnt REALIZE how much i missed it til I was prepping toons for the new expac. I mained it Season 1 but didnt play WOW season 2, came back and mained Disc priest S3 and Lock S4 (random alts thru out all seasons but 2), and then I was like grabbing UI profiles pics and selling old stuff on every character and somehow just felt nostalgia seeing my custom UI on Pres and instantly had muscle memory on it lol.
Mained Pres for season 1 and 4 (played it ofc in season 2 & 3). My absolute favorite healer, range sucks but we have great build diversity, decent skill floor and very high skill ceiling, lots of cds, have every healing profile (hots, burst, heal through damage etc), lots of mobility and crowd control. War Within hero trees both look and feel amazing, so happy to main my fried chicken wing for TWW. Ty for making a vid on this underdog, I mean underdragon!!
This is the only healer that I've had to sit and weigh pros and cons against my disc priest with, I've played disc for almost 20 years, and this is the one thar made me want to switch
I am swapping from Priest to Preservation Evoker for The War Within. Super excited to play it, especially in keys and hopefully a Big Blossom raid fight or two! Preservation is such a fun spec, I really hope as time goes on Blizzard maintains the fantasy and profile of Preservation and is able to add upon it without overwhelming it.
Preservation evoker is a very high skill class to play, with your choices changing moment to moment! I have been a preservation main since it's release, and it's preservation for life!
Well if you think about it, if you take chronowarden, pres has a part of every tier set they ever had as talent. It’s very understandable that it makes them very powerful
It's not hard to learn, a few minutes learning the echo combos and your halfway there, the other half is learning the fights and when the combos are gonna be needed
Just try it i belive in ya! It's not really the evoker that's hard to play it's mostly knowing the bosses and trash packs. Obviously you need to know what your spells and skills do but knowing when and where to use them is the #1 thing on pres evoker. Get a feeling for your echo, stasis and big heals and you'll start off just fine ♥
It is pretty high yes. For me at least the only problem is that this kind of healer is a rotation mostly based. And what I wanted to say is that compared with Holy Priest for example, you don't have something like Flash of Heal or Heal to spam in those big trouble situation when you need to spam something to fully heal someone. If you have Cd on your spiritbloom or others cd, oh well, you just spam Living Flame and watch people die. You will find a lot of times trying to do MORE but you can't cause of how the class itself is built.
as someone who's played all 3 (though i prefer ivy pallys and priests) i wouldn't say it's any more difficult, i just find it more awkward to maximise. i guess the skill/knowledge comes from knowing to preempt dmg and start your empowered heals casting before it happens rather than reacting, plus positioning is so much more important due to your limited range and cone effect casts. AOE healing I'd argue is far easier due to multiple short cooldown aoe heals, spreading with echo, etc..
my first time like TRULY maining healing was deciding to take the leap with pres evoker in s1 of dragonflight, my only healing previously was a small amount of resto shaman in prepatch to DF before i even learned about clickcasting and heal party frames, and honestly? it felt super easy to pick up as a long time Ranged DPS player, but I'm getting to see it fresh unlike another healer player swapping healers. Ironically my first raid tier was also Tomb of Sargeras and i had no idea it was harder than most raids at the time lol kinda bootcamped that 1
Never played Evoker - thinking about it for TWW, with the option of swapping to Aug if Pres flattens out. Obviously second and third targets would be randomly chosen, Does Spiritbloom prioritize target ( if friendly) to heal if only empowered once, or is it always a triage, healing the lowest target? As always love the videos Jak, you're tenacity to bring top level thumbnails is second to none.
Your first rank of spirit bloom is always the target, if multiple ranks are charged smart heal sends it to the players with the lowest health if no one is targeted, but you can still send the first one to a target with multiple charge levels
@@AutomaticJak that disc 4 pc bonus is baffling. We start out damage burst with Mind Blast, so what would you do now, start it with 3 smites then into MB->Penance? I can’t believe they’re letting that go live
Perception is reality. Even if range doesn't really matter especially in light of their incredible mobility, the community has decided on the meme. That's why you shouldn't play prevoker. Because the rabble are prejudiced against them.
I just said this in another comment, but Evoker was created as a high-mobility midrange class: if they buff our range, they'd have to nerf mobility to compensate. The best solution would be to give us stances / forms / auras to swap between 40 yds at reduced mobility or 30 yds at current mobility so people can pick-and-choose.
@@cascul both have roll, mw has sprint vs evoker having aoe sprint + rescue, VE, and deep breath. No dps realistically sit at max range because they lose dps if the mob / tank moves, and positioning yourself ~5yds from the target lets you reach 35yds, so it's really not that big of a difference
Blizzard need buff Range for this class IMO. Or lower others healers range for Evoker don't feel yourself in bad situation. Healing with nerfed range very hard and making players avoid that healer.

Summarized words of many dps players i have played with, "You chose to play that class, the range is your problem, not mine." I love evoker, but I swapped to rshammy over the range 😢.
@@Prime_Logos it's really not that bad, staying just outside of melee range (~5 yds) gives you the same coverage as mw or hpal standing on the opposite side of a mob. Then you just hit two with TA, echo player 3 while TA travels, and cast heal on player 4 to cover everyone
