@@charlizescoot7469 got one for you right now brand new in box bought it for my son but hes decided to be irresponsible with his life so im keeping it for now.
With all that said. I will keep my snapdragon Korean Note 20 Ultra 5G until 2026. Getting 8 hours of screen on time, superb in gaming no overheating and consistently hitting very good fps and maxed out graphics settings, camera and video works really well, slimmer bezels and slimmer phone with SD card support, no questions asked. N20U 5G all the way STILL IN 2024 AND 2025
Man the SD card slot is literally the only dealbreaker for me. Having to give up on my 1tb SD card if I make the jump feels like a downgrade... The Note 20 Ultra felt kind of like a "no compromise" kinda phone, and the S23 Ultra doesn't in my opinion
Great video! I just bought used Note 20 Ultra. It’s my first Samsung smartphone ever. Been using other brands so far and only dreaming about Samsungs. Finally got one!
@@nielsjunker1487 After a bit difficult start it has been running really well. At the beginning I had trouble focusing with camera but after two updates it started working well. Awesome phone! The best I have ever had.
I'll stick with my note 20 ultra until Samsung brings back expandable storage and hopefully ir blaster, i also use my Vivo x90 pro plus for my photos and ir blaster
@@TheTonytone77 the battery upgrade alone was worth that to me , I have a good job so it didn't bother me at all . Plus between the overall animation speed , video and camera being quite a bit better I'm happy with the LITTLE $ I spent . Oh now my phone also went from128gb to 512 and ram is now at 12gb vs the 8 I had . LoL well worth $329 .
@@AustincoleMcMichael u can't equate those lil differences to what the majority are doing ..it doesn't make sense 😕...that's why I commented...if u have the money that great for u and a small percent of ppl that upgrade for minor upgrades
The SD card I can definitely empathise with. I made the move to cloud storage a few years ago when SD cards went away but I do miss then convenience if microSD. The screen size is only 0.1 of an inch and side by side I honestly don't even notice it. The bigger battery battery, better cameras and updated everything else overcome the minor shortcomings compared to Note20 Ultra!
I went from a trac phone sky j pro ( Something like that forgot the name) to the note 20 ultra which I'm type this on.. So I know the feeling.. I was going to do a small upgrade and ended up with this😂
I have the Note 20 ultra and am thinking hard about upgrading, but have not yet been convinced to upgrade to the S23 ultra. I found it quite thick compared to the Note 20. So, I'll wait for the next models to see what I'll do. One thing I hate the Note 20 is the battery and of course, now that will no longer update will be very annoying. I even thought about buying the Fold 4 that seems much more modern, but I do not like the S Pen in a case. And also found the camera worse than the Note 20. I'm hoping that the FOLD 5 is better and with the S Pen attached.
Fold4 Takes better Pictures. Always remember the Software. Although you have less Zoom and less MP, every picture is going to Look better. I Had both, i mean, i still use My fold4. Exynos 990 vs Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 (at least in Europe) 8k is also going to Look better on the Fold. The ultrawide is the Same, but with better Processing on the Fold. In the Fold you also got directors View. Aaaaannnndd: 3x is better than 5x. I mean, the 5x is cooler, and the best would be to have both, Like s21/2/3 Ultra, or the new S24 Ultra, but If you only can choose one, 3x is more often needed. And the 3x on the Fold 4 is able to shoot 4k60. The notes 5x is only Up to 30fps
I agree with you, but I'm 79 on S. S. And have had my note 20 for 3 years and just now learning what it will do. Besides in 3 mo. When my phones are paid off, my bill will drop $75 a month. 🤣
I think right now we're at a point where all phones are now just literally the same from a few years back. They're all literally the same for us everyday users. Most people don't really use 200x zoom or play ram intensive games. People just buy new phones for the sake of buying new phones then get stuck with beautiful old premium phones with impressive hardware in their drawers
Thank you for your perfect video, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra from 2020 and I love the sleek, thin design and almost everything about it. Im very open to buy a new device, but Note 20 Ultra is still irreplaceable piece for me 😊
I loved this video. I'm definitely someone who likes the Note models too but the Note 20's are just amazing. I know someone with a Note20 Ultra, and it's still holding up great for them.. Samsung definitely has improved each year and I cannot wait to see what they have coming up next.. People in the US haven't gotten the camera update yet but I'm hoping it gets here soon and I want to see all the reviews on it.. Apparently, people in Canada are getting the April update on April 12th if they have any S23 model.
Not much different to the s23 ultra to the note 20 ultra, only the camera pixel and extra lense, S23 ultra no SD card slot, note20 yes, plus Samsung thinks better batter life because of no SD card slot, as the note20 ultra weighs less than the s23 ultra, all depends of what you do on the phone, And why bother, even with android version as most wouldn't even use new features, But still the s23 still is its clone of the note phones, but with no SD card slot, and would subscribe to no cloud pm as there's ways round it, I'll still keep the Note20 ultra 5g 512g as to 12G ram until it's dying day , even though I'm not a big user of any phone,
Just to mention, the extra thickness is to accommodate the camera's without the huge bump. They did very well with the overall thickness considering the 1/1,3" sensor...
Since I'm not a professional photographer but still like the top notch interactions with my phone everyday, I'm sticking with my Note20 Ultra. I'm a person that doesn't like being limited in life, having a beast phone with a storage limit doesn't make sense to me like the S23 Ultra. Why call it Ultra? My Note20 Ultra has the SD slot that so far holds 1TB card plus the 128GB internal. If I max the SD card, I can simply add another, file away, and keep going( not with (S23 Ultra). The specs are too similar to buy another phone just to have the current model, just like new vehicles, as soon as you buy another model; another will roll out with one more button added. If the phones are so good and they won't change the body, just invent add-ons. After all; the cool functions and enhancements will get upgraded by satellite every few months anyway for free! Just my personal thoughts.
The only really difference in see is that the 23 Ultra has better battery life thats it. Yes its goving to her more software updates. But I m sure Nova Launcher on S20 Ultra can counter that. The battery life is an extra hour and a half.
Personally I adore my Note 20 Ultra, Europe so it doesn't have a snapdragon but my only issue with it years later is the battery. Not a deal breaker but could be better. That's it, I'm super picky usually but maaaan I love this phone. I'll def be upgrading to the S23 or S24 when it brakes or something
Finally upgrading from my note 10+ to the note 20 ultra as the note 10+ losses security updates this year and the lack of 5g is starting to be an issue. I almost bought into the s23 series but the lack of expandable storage is a deal killer for me. Even the one terabyte model of the s23 is just not worth it when you can have one terabite micro SD cards for as cheap as you can these days.
Very informative video! I just picked up a N20Ultra with the Snapdragon and loving it. The formfactor itself is worth it enough to keep but I still gotta explore how it is w/ real world usage. This should hold me down until the next major upgrade in the S series.
@@elouis364 Loving my N20 every day.. I can last a whole working day with the display set at full brightness with ample battery life for photo taking, design work ,social media and moderate gaming. This phone does it all and its as flashy and head turner like its siblings the S21, S22, and S23 with its form factor. Still holding up very strong. Definitely get one 😎😎😎.. Oh and if you do a lot of heavy outdoor usage it probably wouldn't hurt to pick up a power bank for extra juice. Luckily for me I can last the whole day with a couple close calls. 😊
This was a great review of the two different smart phones and their pros and cons. Thank you. I just got the s23 ultra upgrade today because I got a black screen of death on my s20 ultra. So until I decide to get a new lcd display and fix it to resell. I was definitely curious about what to upgrade to but obviously went with the newest s23 ultra. I love the green sleek back to it vs the chrome black shine I had on the s20. One of my favorite notes was the note9. I STILL have mine. 1 generation and its never failed. Probably one of the best phones that's never broke or given me issues and works wonderfully still to this day and I've had it in an otterbox since day 1 also so not a scratch on it. I hope that this s23 can perform like that in life longevity. Anyways, ty again for a great review and comparison! Thumbs up and new follow!
Im using note 20 ultra for almost 3 years now but the camera for capturing faces in the family photo often blur. I suspect the samsung lens not as sharp as leica or sony lens. However, for capturing scenery, or plants my 20 ultra is doing very good job😂 video is also good. Not really sure what's going on. I also read many people complained about this blur photos. Hopefully, samsung can give a better upgrade for the camera sharpness results. That will be perfect😊
i miss the color (rose gold), thin form and feel of the 20 ultra, it somehow felt more premium to me. i'm also stuck with six useless 20 ultra cases, but 5mos ago the phone started acting up, plus $600 off trade in made me switch.
Im very upset at the industry moving to no support for SD card cause my biggest regret wifh my current note10 that ive used for 4 years now is i didnt buy the note 10+ bigger brother with SD card support 😢 now in end of 2023 going into 2024, i want to replace my note 10 mainly because i cannot expand the storage since i take so many photos and videos.... so im stuck😊
Just replaced my cracked screen and battery which was free on my note 20 ultra, set me back $300. I love my note and any phone without an sd card i consider a downgrade.
Greetings from Greece🇬🇷. I have the note 20 ultra since the day it came out. I am very pleased. I'll wait next year to see what Samsung comes up with and buy it. Keep up the good work👍
A 700 to 800 usd upgrade on the used market ..Not sure the features make a ton of sense on a yearly depreciation loss. Basically paying to lose 150usd a year on the new phone to use those extra features.
still got note 10plus and note 20u till now but bought s23u. its the same feeling from note 10plus and note20u. i would say its note20u is literally the same as note20u but with better battery, better screen, chip and camera. i dont like the s23u speakers tho. it sounds tiny compared to louder speakers on note 20u. i also dont like the waterfall design of camera of s23u. design makes it finicky on cases when camera ring protectors or tempered glass are on.
I was thinking of trading note 20u phone with my father s23u(once he buy it). Can u advice me? I love my note 20u speaker can u tell me more about ur s23u? Is it worth replacing my phone? sd slot will be missed😢
@@Sandra-xd6vq its a great upgrade but if you dont want to spend over 1000usd at the moment just keep note 20u. i would say s23u is literally the same as note 20u. if you give note20u the bigger battery and brighter quad hd 120hz screen it is the s23u. like i said s23u has tiny speaker not that bad but i really think note20u has better and louder speaker and it has sd card. if you can live with its short coming dont upgrade. note 20u would probably work til 2028 til some apps starting to not work by that time its really time to upgrade
@@Sandra-xd6vqoh if u plan to switch with your dad then yeah go take s23u. the battery alone says a lot. just replace the battery of your note20u before giving it to your dad to be fair😆😆😆😆
I just received a Samsung Note 20 Ultra to replace my Note 8 Ultra. Many people online have been complaining about the washed out colors and terrible contrast, and I concur. I sent people one of my photgraphs, looked at them on my computer monitors, and compared the Note 20 Ultra to my Note8 Ultra. Note 8 Ultra wins hands down. Sharpness, contrast, and colors are all lacking on the Note20 Ultra. I was really happy to get a great deal and the ability to save money using my own SD cards, instead of the S23's internal only storage. I'm sending the phone back today. Also, if you look really close, I'm also getting slight bit of screen flicker too. One last note here, I didn't know how bad the screen was until I cast the Note 20 screen to my Samsung 240hz 4k 65" HDTV. Wo, the TV really made the display deficiencies look huge. The TV's blacks were inky, and the Note 20's were faded, and the printing was way easier to read on the TV from 12 feet!!?? Note8 beats the 20 by a mile. Now this may be an anomaly but after hearing all of this review here, I think not.
Note 8? How about Note 4? Of course N20 doing great at night or just low light scenarios, but in day light N4 pictures\video looks much sharper and more details. Especially if digital zoom is used in video, at 2x it is not too bad still N4 is better, but going to 4x N20 is blurry mess when N4 looks just great. N20 does have better DD\HDR, night mode, and proper manual mode, but looses in contrast and details slightly in day light scenario.
My screen cracked on my note 20 ultra. Was considering upgrading to the s23 but no SD card is a deal breaker for me too. I think I'll buy another note 20 ultra instead. I remember a samsung commercial that made fun of apple phones for not having expandable storage....
Actually that's not correct. The first generation of fingerprints Scanner under the display is note 10. I actually want a note 23 ultra.... But i need a micro SD Card Option. That's very sad that note 23 Don't have that.
The note 20 ultra is a good and of course the s23 ultra is good to it depends on what you need it for as far as the camera systems there's an easy fix to the shot shots you took on the note 20 ultra which people don't ever ever mention you're taking the camera or the stock or the pro camera as well when you take the shots what's a note here's the if you have Google one I listen if you have Google as a second option to your stock camera and your pro camera on the note 20 ultra here's the kicker switch it over to Google's one camera system and then you can edit it buy sharpening the picture Indy note 20 guaranteed you pay $3 maybe 3:50 for the googles process of camera system and then that will make a huge change in what you see you can sharpen you can pop the picture in any way you like when you're using the Google camera so there is your solution right there by editing that shots to make it as looking as good as the s23 ultra.. but the s23 ultra is a very good the only problem is it doesn't got good sound quality like they claim as it's been put it has a very tiny and tinny sound only Yesterday shouldn't make the speakers richer in quality...😮 And there is your answer bingo...
And here's your answer... not everyone wants to fuck around editing photos all day .. when u can get a phone that does it instantly.. sitting there editing Samsung's problems 😅 what a Goose!
You know. I've had my note 20 Ultra since the release date. I absolutely love this phone but maybe it's time to put this old girl down and get the S24 ultra when it comes out. 🤔
ive got the Note20 ultra & am thinking of upgrading to the S23 ultra , it's just the price that puts me off at the moment , but i do like the look of the cameras , since ive had my note20 ultra ive stopped using my canon dslr , it's great having a camera with you in your phone .
As they say the best camera is the one you have on you! The Note20 Ultra still holds up for sure. The main reasons I believe to upgrade would be the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and the more flexible cameras. Outside of that, if you're happy with Note20 Ultra it's still a great phone in 2023
I feel like the s23 ultra has better camera quality then the iPhone 13 Pro Max. They look more clean and life like. I think even the Note 20 Ultra has a better camera too. The iPhone does this weird thing where the photo looks great before it processes it then it changes like some kind of filter applied to it that destroys the sharpness and ruins the photo. Luckily when I find a job and make enough money I could be able to switch.
I still have my Note 20 ultra from launch, ill never get rid of it and i use it from time to time. But yes my S23 ultra is light years better thats for sure.
One thing you didn't mention is the note 20 ultra also has MST payment (magnetic secure transmission), and the s23 ultra doesn't, what it does is makes any card reader a contactless card reader, even if it doesn't accept samsung pay or nfc pay. It was a pretty cool feature i found handy a couple times, but it probably won't change much for most people, just though I'd mention it for anyone that's interested.
Yeah that's a great point. Reason it slipped my mind is we never actually had MST active here in Australia as we had a very high NFC adoption rate in every retailer, so the banks never actually switched it on
Thanks for validating my decision. I had the Note 20 Ultra for 2 years before i dropped it, then i spend 4 months thinking really hard about its replacement.
Not a big difference at all people who have the note 20 ultra should keep it for at least 5 years! I have the S23 ultra but i came from the note 20 ultra and its not a day and night difference between the note 20 ultra and the S23 ultra. My girlfriend has my note 20 ultra now and it's 3 years old now and still works the same as the day i bought it, and still looks as new to. It's the note 20 ultra snapdragon 865 version, the only thing is a little loss of the battery capacity. But she is going to replace the battery for a original new one at the samsung store, i think it will last another 3 years again.
I have the Exynos 990 variant. It was pretty bad in the first year (not stutters but it was getting really hot). But now it is alright. I have a case on so I do not even notice heating when gaming at this point. And the S22 Ultra suffered the same fate, again hot processor in the first several months.
I pulled my old s20 fe out the draw which runs the 990 and I’m actually surprised that it runs sweet. Does get warm like you said and it’s not very efficient, but those flaws aside it runs well. Forgot how snappy and good the little phone is tbh. Think 13 and 5.1 is its last upgrade though which is a shame as it’s still very capable.
Note 20 ultra will be my one and only Samsung phone till when they decide to bring back expandable storage. First it was ear phone Jack now SD card. Next it will be SIM. The sole reason I hate iPhone. Stop going astray. Sony is the King here.
screwed that.. it's no damn difference.. I could flash rom and make it faster then any phone on the market 2023. If it doesn't fly or flex I'm not upgrading
I wish I'd waited for the S23U, had all the issues you raised with the N20U, plus faults that had to be repaired twice, and I felt abandoned by Samsung with no direct replacement for the N20U at the end of a 2 year contract. I went to the P7P, and although it's a great phone in many ways, I miss a lot of the premium Samsung features. So next year it's either the S24U (6 mths old at that point) or wait for the S25U. As long as it's a Snapdragon processor, will never have another Exynos.
Yeah battery and updates on Note 20 Ultra are an problem now... I got mine since the day I could get it after launch... Not a single problem with it up to this day... It's insane machine :D I'm looking to get something new... So far my choises are on S23 ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max or Xiaomi 13 Ultra when it get's international version.... it's funny looking at all kind of videos about all 3 of those and finding something that would stand out from one from others... basicly all top android phones are pretty much all same in hardware specs, only thing you can actualy look as difference is camera and the physical look of it *-*
Galaxy Note series is so far better than S series. Why Samsung Galaxy Note legendary series is dead? 😢 💝👍Galaxy Note series is the father of Galaxy S series 👎 why S series bad 👉 1_bad camera, Note series is better camera than S series . 2_ Bad design and thin & lightweight _ ofcourse Note ultra series is much better than S series, Galaxy Note ultra series best design and standard and slim & lightweight than any Galaxy S ultra series. LoL samsung company now what's happening going on 😂👎
My note 20 ultra camera detoriated after an update. Camera stopped focussing. Can't even scan a f*cking qr code. It used to have good camera but now shit! I have upgraded to S23 now. Absolutely spot on.
i just bought demo unit snapdragon n20u at the price of 36000 , s23 new one cost 125000. at the cost of 1/3 of s23 , im getting same sw experience and other things almost 80% or abv of what s23 can do
I have a note 8 that still works well. I know the camera is not great. I was considering getting a note 20, but you convinced me to go higher to a S23Ultra. I am also cosidering a flip phone, but do not know enough about its photographic capabilities. any advice? Thanks.
Note 20 ultra user - you made me check my processor, and I have the bad one, so I was thinking of changing, and you have surely convinced me now. When I first got the phone it was wow!, now I feel I am missing out.
I love my s20 Note ultra, but im tired of it being too big for my wireless charger in my Car. Why cant they make the phone like a s23 screen size with same specs 😅 otherwise i kinda miss the SD slot in samsung flagships. I would rather have 1TB SD slot then a 1TB internal. Because i use my phone more for pictures and sosial media then playing games or other heavy uses.. Nice video mate. Were looking around for something like this. Does the new samsung line support magsafe cases?
That's the reason why i switched to apple,i was tired of samsung exynos chip,it makes the phone performs really bad expecially batterylife🤬. I'm glad stepping over to ios.
I'm considering going to the S23+ the ultra is just too big for me, now I'm coming from a Huawei P30 Pro which isn't too shabby on the photography front either. Worth upgrading ?
The S23+ is a great alternative. The battery life will be definitely the best of the S23 range. The video performance on the S23 series is worth the upgrade alone in my opinion. I have a smaller s23, I might do a comparison to the ultra to show the differences
This is not an objective comparison video that aims to just show the viewers the strengths and weaknesses of the two phones in order for them to arrive at an informed decision. He is very obviously an S23 Ultra fanboy and thus, very biased against the Note 20 Ultra. This video is an appeal to switch to Samsung S23 Ultra and ditch the older phone. A more fitting title should have been: "YOU SHOULD UPGRADE! Note 20 Ultra vs S23 Ultra
Hmm I think the video answers a question so for me the title is relevant. The answer I give is that you should upgrade. If I give the answer in the title then there isn't really a point in clicking 😅 But I also believe I made enough relevant points about how well the Note 20 Ultra does hold up in 2023. Bottom line, if the Note 20 Ultra had a better chipset, it would've been a lot closer.
@@techwithbenefitsnahh it was pretty bias towards the newer phone. At times you'd say things like the s23 ultra is really bright but not mentioning that the not 20 ultra is essentially the same jn brightness just slightly less bright. You made tbe brightness seem like a huge upgrade. You also made the latency seem like a huge upgrade. To someone who has both phones, doing what i mentioned above makes you seem a bit bias. 😊
I have a Note 20 ultra. I'm good with my Note 20 Ultra. It is a waste of money to upgrade your Note 20 Ultra to A 23 Ultra. Wait till the A 24 or S25 comes out.
