I don't even care if there's glass on the back. The first glass backed phone I had fell outta my pocket at the gym and shattered against the leg of a bench. Lol.
@@quintingoynes704 same with me...my note 10 couldn't fit properly in my pocket and fell out and it was shattered even with a phone case on. I definitely don't mind a plastic back this time.
It’s just odd to charge $1000 and not spend a bit more for a glass back imo. However, for the discounted prices it is in most places, I don’t mind it one bit
Note it out or trade in your off phone. They are very affordable. I could’ve paid the 50 a month but I traded in my 10 xr and only pay 15 a month. 5 for the phone and 10 for phone insurance.
Remember in the 2000s when premium phones were like 300-400$, when first galaxy and iphone launched were at like 600$? Well yeah, the prices have definitely gone up by a lot and will keep going imo
Exactly what I just told him on Twitter. Glad to see others are trying to tell him. It's not under display settings so he didn't see it. It's in advance features I believe.
I know it freaking kills me(especially because in my country 1 euro = 4,85 lei so yeah...nobody, not damn rich, will be buying that soon over here *eye rolls*)
It looks like a straight, pointed table and gives the impression that swiping your finger in the corner will pierce it. I like it slightly rounded, like the S8, only less like a narrow remote.
Because Samsung not respect their customers only Chinese and USA have the powerful prosser sanp dragon but the global have shit exynos 990 plus the GPU have different versions the Global comes with Mali-G77 MP11 but in USA and China comes with Adreno 650 which is unfair

Bruh 30 minute review only about the feel, screen, and camera. Come on couldnt you go over any other interesting features and not spend half an hour for 3 things ffs
An important thing to touch on would be the lack of the sd slot. That's the biggest issue for me. I'm considering jumping from the 20 to the 20 ultra for that reason alone
@@InsaneFlying 128gb on the note 20. I have it. Only the ultra version has a SDslot. It's not terrible but if you store a ton of music and vids apps too you might have some issues
So I've been a Note fan for a long time and I use it as a sketchbook just about every day and I actually noticed in the store that the regular note 20 screen looked better but what really sold it for .e was the flat screen without the rounded off edges. I hated the rounded off edges when drawing on the phone. The only con I have about my choice is the plastic back but I always have it in a case so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus it does make it lighter in the pocket.
@@lavarockzz Great phone. Battery life is insane, great big screen, the camera is really good. Autofocus ain't as quick as my S9+ though. Overall good, but not sure if it was worth the price tag. I was surprised to see the Note 20 Ultra $100 cheaper. I would've waited for the Note if I knew about the price and new features and the matte finish on the bronze model.
About the regular note 20 having a "better display", the reason why the note 20 ultra display looks dimmer is due to the higher refresh rate. if you lock it at 60hz, it should be brighter. higher refresh rates require more power to keep up with the extra processing. The higher the refresh rate, the dimmer the screen will be unless the screen is ultra powerful. It's the same for Gaming monitors. My 144hz LG gaming monitor is way brighter at 60hz compared to it's 144hz setting.
@Nhilistic Komrad there is a point in the video where I'm sure he reduced the refresh rate and the resolution to match the regular Note 20. Stop hatin on him everybody makes mistakes, even if I'm sure he didn't make any. Jesus!
Not true. I have both phones in my hands and even after setting ultra to 60hz wqhd regular note 20 is still way brighter. The white colors on ultra give off yellowish tint
Samsung is really trying to play us🤦🏻♂️$1000 is slowly going to become the mid range models and the flags ships are creeping its way to the $2000 price range 😒
I've thrown a lot of phones and broke them all. Out of frustration I have thrown my S9 once out of anger, but it didn't F*** it up and now I did not have intention of throwing it down and it cracks on me.
I'd like to know if what he was using was a demo phone. It was playing the demo video here 0:33. There are reports that demo phones are brighter than their retail counterparts. hmmnnnn 🤔
@@PigeonMan5000 Samsung had a deal going on during holidays where they took certain amount off with you phone. With T mobile they did too. Got my phone trade in value plus 500$ made it like half the price
I traded in my S10e to Samsung and got $600 credit for the Note 20, so the phone was $400. I have no clue why it having a plastic back is a big deal, this is really nice phone.
That's what I still have. No freaking joke. The front glass broke this morning. And I wasn't following this release. So looking up glass repair for Samsung note. I land on the Note 20 Ultra 5G. I think I might just be happy with an overpriced screen repair. There's nothing wrong with the Note 9 IMO. At least not to the extent of upgrading. HEY SAMSUNG. SEND ME A NOTE 20 ULTRA 5G, ILL HAPPILY EAT CROW IF I'M WRONG.
I just traded in my Note 9 for $550 for the Ultra 512gig. Had a hard time doing it. Great phone but I'm sure the battery won't last another year? I charge 3 times a day and once all night since Sept. 2018. Gonna miss it!🥺✌
In Europe we get the same old Exynos 990 lol whilst other regions get the SD865 Plus opposed to the regular 865 😂 Yet the price is about the same or more in certain markets, well done Samsung you bunch of geniuses
I thought every country get the exynos chip except North America? Australians have the same problem, also for the plastic version is $1500aud here and $1850 for the note 20 ultra. Hard pass for me for lots of people it seems
@@only4hw it's 1040 usd or 78k inr for normal one n 1400 usd or 105k inr for ultra model even though they r made locally here , they will slash their price in 2-3 month by atleast 5-10k inr they do this every time
Because Samsung not respect their customers only Chinese and USA have the powerful prosser sanp dragon but the global have shit exynos 990 plus the GPU have different versions the Global comes with Mali-G77 MP11 but in USA and China comes with Adreno 650 which is unfair
We live in an era where Apple makes a premium feeling phone with nicer materials for 400 dollars and Samsung makes a phone that is built like a 300 dollar android but ask for 1000
I just got the note 20 and what all reviewers fail to tell us is that note 20 is refreshingly light weight, I love it! I'm tired of these heavy phones.
Could be the new glass as well. I also watched 7 commercials during this video..that dims me wanting to watch this channel. (How much money is enough?-(Case anyone?)
Its probably also due to the higher pixel density, more pixels means there is, overall, more space between pixels and that means less of the front of the phone is outputting light.
9:04 Looks like the screen on the regular Note was extra bright like it was detecting sunshine, because you can see it starts to dim when you tilt it away from the lights in the ceiling. Maybe that sunshine compensation just didn't activate on the Ultra for some reason. Lastly, could be a production error. Simple as that.
Production error, Video Enhancer was off on the Ultra, On on the standard. It's a Samsung thing that brightens video's in Programs only. It was on RU-vid so video enhancer was in effect.
9:04 - smaller one dimmed itself exactly to Ultra's level, most likely it just goes to outdoor mode under your lights and the Ultra doesn't edit: or it's really just video enhancer, my bad, didn't look close enough
This is the only channel that can criticize phones without having to worry about companies because he has become that big and popular, no other channel has the courage to criticize these big companies like lew do . And thats why i watch him.
@@swordman4916 oh well, if it's stronger than the glass one though, i'd be ok with it. In addition, it probably isn't a fingerprint magnet compared to the glass one
PARADOX 818 no it’s not. Have you seen the note 20 display? Or used it ? And the response time on spen is 100x better. Although not as good as note 20 ultra but still major improvement. And the main offset for the plastic was because of 5g as it’s still costly to put that in.
Yeah times change, now they just use snapdragon in certain markets to be able to claim the most powerful Android bs claim. I'd have no problem with exynos, if it reflected in the price.
The purpose of the note 20 is very questionable...I mean no one in their right mind would go for it.Even if you are a samsung fan the S20 makes way more sense
I think the regular Note 20 exists to make the Note 20 Ultra look even better than it already is So that way when people look at the both of them they want to buy the Note 20 Ultra because the price difference isn't too crazy and the Ultra is wayyy better...
I miss the ultra light plastic phones that were super durable. My S3 was amazing for it's time! It could multi task, split screen, screen mirror, wireless charging with a special back.... all this plus more I'm missing way before people even knew what all that was!
9:23 my wife and I ran into this same thing although on a whole different level. we were both playing a game on our phones and we noticed that the game looked alot better on my phone. problem is that i have a note 8 and she has a galaxy s 10. we made sure that all settings were set equally within the phone settings and game settings. my phone still blew her phone away as hers continued to display washed out colors
@@DocOTEPStudio For everybody having this issue, I figured it out. It only happens on the homescreen. Disabling the "Apply Dark Mode to Wallpaper " in dark mode settings should fix the issue. Washed out screen gone and now matches side by side with my note 9. Your screen should then pop. You're welcome.
I just got the 20 note, and yes I was surprised at how cheap it felt in my hand. I couldn't believe I spent more than 1000 dollars on this. I recommend getting the ultra a few 300$ more won't hurt
@11:04 Is talking about how the lower end model has a better looking screen when right at this point, the image on the regular Note20 is getting washed out in a glare of white where the letters blend into the image on the left side, and the Ultra presents the image clearly with more accurate color and clearly presents "Unbox Therapy Music" Not to mention the camera cut out is bigger on the regular Note20
the note 20 and note 20 ultra actually have different screen technologies... note20 has super amoled plus and note20 ultra has dynamic amoled 2x... so they're different...

Yes! A 27 minute review on the phones I'm looking to upgrade from my Note 10 +, thank you very much!
Hey Lew..! This is my first comment on your channel. I want to say that the Note 20 ultra has the pixel Benning and 120Hrz fresh rate which may cause the unsaturated display. It is my guess
Just got the note 20 and the retail model does have the thuding plastic back. I personally like a plastic back. I always end up breaking the back glass on my phones
I'm a convert using iphones for 8 years, watching from S10 and my Note 20 ultra will be delivered Saturday. I never even wanted to give Samsung a chance but so glad I switched.
Chaika Gaz iphones never had one why we should talk about , but samsung have it in every smart phone (not all but many) why did they took it out in this situation ? because they want to you buy the expensive one
Yeah it's a really good phone, the camera still good I think a really noticeable feature on note 20 ultra might be the refresh rate other than that they are almost same ❤️. I'm still in love with mine only down side is its not getting android 14 support 💔
people in North America: get the better snapdragon 865+ people everywhere else: get the worse exynos 990 Samsung: this is good business, even though everyone hates the exynos
Maybe the display look is affected by the different glass material. That gorilla glass is tougher to break, so maybe the price of that is a reduced image. Even as slight as that, the gorilla glass is worth it in my opinion.
Its really tempting to get the 20 ultra especially given the current deals being offered on it but man I really love my s10+ I don't think I can give it up
I love the video but it is immensely stressful when you’re comparing the plant pictures because they’re upside down. I guarantee you everyone is trying to flip their phone over to compare the two images. Lol. I guess I’m nitpicking but I found myself literally turning my head
@@udayandebnath276 yeah it's not a big deal if you just focus on the middle of the plant but I think all of us have our minds trained a certain way and so when something is off like that it messes with our heads
