I wanted to share my thoughts on wearing shoes without socks. I’ll share my opinion of which style loafers or unlined dress shoes work best and why.

Definitely see the appeal in the hot summer months to go sock-less; however my feet are an extreme hot-zone that requires at least a no-show sock regardless of style.

Yeah I hear ya. Honestly the no show socks I’ve had, pantherella, bombas and a few others always make things worse. Besides the digging into my foot they cause.

So not to be nitpicky but when the "Suede" is full grain reversed leather it's actually just called rough out as opposed to suede which is split. Also, love your content man!

Thanks man! Yeah my understanding is it refers to the same technique of having a full hide intact and the flesh side or suede side is facing out. But rough out has particular characteristics much different from a full reverse suede. Rough out is typically a waxed or heavily oiled reverse leather. Reverse suede is typically the reverse of an aniline finished calfskin. So same material, and same approach of not splitting the hide, but very distinct characteristics that differentiate a rough out from a reverse suede. Check out CF Stead, they offer both and provide a basic explanation.

There is one VERY BIG cause why not need to wear shoes without socks -it is sweat and stink from leather than will come , why nobody talks about it, please understand one thing if sweat penetrates in to leather after very difficult to clean it , disgusting to see men wear leather shoes without socks , not hygienically .

I agree that’s a Valid concern. At same time, the simple assumption that dress socks are not water resistant,so the perspiration is going to be absorbed into the lining and leather either way. Granted, repeated and often wear without socks will expedite the impact to the shoe.
