The contrasting vocals between Limahl and Nick Beggs make this rendition a winner and a MASSIVE improvement over the studio original. It's a shame these guys imploded again after finding their way back together to record a great 4-track EP. "Space Cadet" is one of the most bonafide badass tracks they've ever done. They should have also re-recorded this song with Limahl. What a lost opportunity.
Yup Nick's voice is crispier and better detached. I can't help but imagine that a young Limahl would've absolutely rocked that song! His voice has so much charisma and it used to carry more melody in the higher pitched tones than it does now
TERRIBLE !!
@toronto daddy thats not entirely true. In those days, having the look was enough to be a pop star. Look at sique sigue sputnik, no talent, song written by a nobody but had the look. Kajagoogoo had hit songs but were persuaded they "needed" lamahl so they hired him as frontman. The thought later he was taking all the credit and lime light and he was going a way the band didn't like, so they decided to sack him. He layer had a hit song never-ending story but again, it was written for lamahl. Kajagoogoo still plodded on and had a hit big apple 🍎 which is just like too shy but not much after that. Kajagoogoo IS the band and lamahl was doing a job he later lost. If lamahl wrote all the songs, that'll be different and he would have never been sacked. 😆 🤣 😂
