This is a song for all ages. I was still in middle school. And back then. Middle School was called Junior High School. Time flys and this is one song and group. That will stand the test of time.
WOW! CLUB 1235 Miami Beach, JOSEPH'S Fort Laudedale, SKYLITE Town and Country Mall, STRING FELLAS Coconut Grove...those were the days!!!!FREESTYLE DAYS!!!Thanks for sharing this video!
I wasnt born until 1989 but my older sister loooovveesss freestyle and i she wanted to school me on real latin music so now i absolutely love this song!!!!
i remember dancing like a nut to this song when i was 4 (87), and my parents even captured the my crazy dance moves on video. hate watching the home video but love the song. 80's music are timeless.
I only got to see this video a handful of times. And yes, the 80s, along with some of the 90s, had the best dance and music vids. And it's really the under 25 crowd that won't know the real dance culture. But, hey, history repeats itself. :)
daaaaaaaayummmmm! its been a while back..but i remember my bothers and sister dancing to these song in the streets of philly and bx....while gooood ole times!!!!
Jan 2021 in 3rd wave COVID-19 BS...close my eyes...and go back in time ....Damn Show Me...Show Me Back to the 80's....what epic times...I lived the 80's in Toronto! I Amazing!
The Cover Girls sold millions of records and had huge top 40 hits here in America, you could see all their videos on MTV,VH1 & BET in the late 1980s and early 1990s,they were so talented and beautiful, they had amazing voices and great beats,I miss them sooo much!
They played at the Patriotic Club in Chicago's South Chicago neighborhood back in '88 (probably the smallest venue ever back in their prime). I wasn't there, but from what I've heard the place went absolutely mad!
Damn Reminds me of the good old days. I think its about time I take out all my old freestyle cassettes lol out of storage and start playing them again.
Makes me want grab hair spray & gel. Put on black spandex to go to the Roxy's. (with something sparkling pink!) We always wound up taking the Westside highway. Why? I have no idea -- I wasn't old enough to drive. LOVIN IT!
Oh my...reminds me of a simpler and happier life that seems oh so long ago. I wish I could go back to sixth grade again when the world was a better happier place. This is as close as time travel you can get : )
my fave girl freestyle girl group!!!!they should reunited with the original lineup angel, caroline, sunshine.freestyle best hits.asian blonde barbiegurl
I get what you mean about American PR music. And I do get that some PR's are into the black scene. Music does evolve, now PR's are into Reggaton. I am not crazy about this music. However, there are lots of latinos who love it. We are no longer the minority, thanks to Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and such. We no longer need a genre of music because PR's are everywhere in everything and our influence is abundant in the arts and beyond. Finally the world has taken noticed on how awesome we are!
Hector, The only thing you are right about is Caroline does live in Iowa. She opened up an orphanage for foster children, and has dedicated her life to helping them.
I'm talking about Puerto Ricnans form here in the USA. I know about salsa, but you have to admit that this freestyle sound originated in the PR communities on the east coast.
There was a longer version of this, we danced to in clubs. It had a great intro that mixed seamlessly with any song they played before it..I wonder if tanktruck knows which one I mean...if so, will you post? ;)
haha, he has some parts of the dance, the song, and everything yea... but dude the song is a sample.. as stated... plus he has so many other hit songs he is a good composer period. maybe not the greatest in korea but he is worldly known for his persistence to move to the us and everything...
Still cant find that Cover Girl video "Goody Goody Lovin" by The Cover Girl's??? Ashylarry101 sugjested to try looking for it under Lissette Melendez but that video wasn't listed? I thought the video was called "Do you want a piece of my Love" or "Goody Goody Lovin"
Its a shame this music did not evolve. It just dissapeared. This is the only Hispanic-American music movement that started here and now its gone. Its a shame now only young inner-city latinos only listen black music now and copy the black style in everything. I'm not anti-black, its just that why cant we do our own thing.
Sammy you are crazy..I am a 40 year old black woman and have love freestyle since the 80's..I dont like hip hop at all ok? Old freestyle, disco and oldies are my kinda of music...I went to the freestyle concert at the garden, im not puerto rican but was i wrong to go? I didnt know freestyle was only made for puerto ricans..guess i better toss out my micmac records and not go to the next concert in july 2008!
Q:Why were they called the cover girls?,did they cover only someone else’s hits? Or is it a make-up thing 👄 💄 as in the Cover Girl trademark? *Update* LoL 😂 I guess I shouldda seen the video first!
