Session skate sim is definitely the best skateboarding game right now. Skate 2 was always my favorite but this one is definitely the best one from the new era of skateboarding games.
That first clip was actually difficult. I do not aim for the realism with these clips.
Where is Skate 4 btw?

You did make it look smooth as hell. I think the reason people say it's not smooth is the animations can be a bit clunky looking because of how they work. But I love how hard the game is, and if you adjust your stats enough and spend heaps of time with it, it starts looking less clunky

Yeah, I tend to adjust stats at least once every gameplay session lmao. It's great to be able to change stats whenever you need. If only more skating games would include stats menus

@@based-ys9um there’s settings to smooth out the animations 😂 if anything skater xl is robotic, session is almost just as smooth as skate 3 imo. People just play skate 3 once and see how easy it is to pick up and immediately shit on every other skating game.

@@based-ys9um there’s an experimental settings tab and it has something called “skater physical animation.” I’m on pc with no mods, so im not sure if it’s on console or it should be. And in the flip trick settings there’s a setting called “Sync Flips/Scoops.” That makes the trick animations look cleaner.

Yup, this made the decision for me, i couldn't choose between skater XL and session but this video made me instantly choose session, the sound, the graphics, the street spots, it's perfect. And the gravity of skater XL looks so weird like u are on the moon, i hate that, thanks for this video!

Actually how about someone actually make a good skating game because apparently people aren't gonna like skate 4 with it being way more unrealistic (I just didn't like skate 3 because of the map being not realistic as in spots or it just didn't seem enough because skate 1 and 2 was good) but then skater xl and session both have problems so how about someone actually make a new skating game it's just like how nobody will make a new zombie game especially one in first person

The thing about session is it’s still a bit jank, but if you’re going for clips and keep redoing your line until you get things looking smooth it looks REALLY smooth. Not to mention how you position your feet, how you catch your flips, how you Ollie, how you do literally anything can be tweaked to look different just by doing slight variations with the sticks. Normal gameplay looks smooth enough imo, just has some real jank moments thrown in. Either way, it’s the most fun I’ve had with a skating game in a while.

Shame there's a few comments just saying the game looks clunky because they don't like it. I'd love to know what game they think is smoother, because Skate 3 definitely isn't? Really nice and smooth lines here even if they aren't the most realistic - but hey guess what, it's a game, people can play how they want to. Also, always enjoy watching other people's takes on that big stairs run at the end of the video!

Skater XL(modded) has the best gameplay. The tricks feel more natural. You can actually add some steeze to your tricks. Session feels really clunky, goofy, and the animations are horrible.

@@failure1068 Bro you shouldn't have to rely on modders work to make a game playable. You like the game better without mods? I love Skater XL and it is better, but only IF it's modded. If not there is no comparison, session is 100x better without mods. And the mods are not part of the original game. That's why they're called modifications. Because it took strangers on the internet to do what the Sleazy Day devs can't. Not to mention the lack of literally anything to do other than just freeskate in Skater XL. Session has so much to do and explore, as such big open maps, the list goes on. And I was a modder for Skater XL when the game released. I quit because apparently the developers did too. I mean, that grab update that is over a year old and still in beta? The Switch release that took almost 4 years longer than expected? If you think anything about that game is better without the mods you're just wrong buddy

I much prefer realistic skating but I couldn’t do the lines he did even if I tried 😭 I’m willing to bet most of the negative comments are just haters cause they ass at the game 😂. This game is hard asf!! I got about 9hrs on the game and I just rage quit after I couldn’t land a hard flip backtail on a handrail but I’ll get it eventually 😈 Skater xl is waaay easier! 💯

The game looks really sick. I'm currently on Skater XL and I love it, but I'll support any good skate game and this one definitely looks good. Homeboy got that massive pop off a nose manual at 25 seconds down the escalator.. I'd tone down the stats a bit, but it definitely looks good.

my strongest problem with session is that when you do sharper turns the camera turns delayed. Also turning in general feels way less precise. I got 4k hours in sxl and often aiming for any obstacle is really hard in session even after 80 hours

you think after modding sxl for 4k hours I would not have tried every ingame setting? I play on the lowest camera rotation setting cause otherwise you steer like crazy but that makes it so when you do turns the camera doesnt follow you. In sxl I can just set in graphics mod a follow cam to 1.0 movement and 1.0 rotation response and I never miss any object ( because of the game )@@youtopiastorm8373

The maps are insanely beautiful and the spots look super fun, but man to get this good at the game takes so long and even after that it still doesn’t look as smooth as SXL with mods :/ wish someone could port the maps w those graphics tho, 10/10

People who claim this games clunky, don't know what clunky is. This game reacts immediately to any input you give it, it's just the controls are complicated which is meant to simulate difficulty. Resident Evil 5 was clunky, remember that game? Movement was so slow and unresponsive they actually made a command that'd flip the protagonist around 180 degrees because normal movement was basically impossible.

Theres nothing wrong with speaking out if we want the devs to improve the game. I'll continue buying DLCs to support them. But the game is not smooth its still clunky and thats OK.

Session is smooth as hell. I've got 200 hours in Session but been dragged over to SkaterXL to play with people. I liked Session before but playing SkaterXL has made me realise just how good Session really is. Hopefully the UE5 version will come with mp. Probably not but I can hope.

I think the problem for me is a lot of this looks like learned routes rather than decisions you could just make on the fly and be confident in them working out. skate 3 I don’t really have to plan lines I can just skate around and land tricks without stress

I have over 2000 hours in this game, but had to quit because i was tired of not having proper animations for goofy stance. Its just the same animations as switch regular. It started to mess with my skating in real life. Session is smooth as hell tho, i miss it sometimes

@@clarenceoveur9497 since the dawn of skateboarding games I’ve been playing all of them 🙏 Just not session anymore until they update, because of the aforementioned issues ☺️ I think skater XL is great, it’s a shame there is no stat adjustments on console. With mods, Skater XL is phenomenal.

The first clip was like watching a real life run but the others weren't so natural looking and i mean that in trick transition. Theres no way you can go from one trick to the next the way you did. The game is impressive though.
