Dude the death thing makes way too sense. Especially when most of the map is in memory to Don Hartley. At the beginning when you fly off the roof and die is kinda similar to how don Hartley died. He died from injuries due to a fall during skateboarding (I’m serious search it up). Seems like you die and go to skateboard heaven just like their friend. The whole game is in memory of him not the just map.

Great video. Last year I celebrated the 10th anniversary in a small way by posting my best clips on Instagram. It seemed like no one was talking about it from what I could see. But by chance I noticed a few weeks ahead of time that Skate 3 was turning 10 so I got a bit excited and nostalgic. I also believe the dead skater theory. Thanks for the video.

The nollie pop “trick” is just that jumping holds momentum, if you jump down a hill you’ll carry the gravity and momentum down and out of a pop so you’ll continue to stay at max speed, it’s how you win races everytime

i remember hearing the death theory a few years ago and holy shit the memories but it actually makes sense when you think about it everything he mentioned makes sense but also the marker point exist as in when you mess a trick up if you want you can go back to your marker as that would be a thing that a skater would obviously like having not to mention that your skate character can fall off building and break technically an infinite amount of bones and be fine

I remember as a kid when this game came out I went over to my uncles house, which was like a safe haven and always the most fun I had as a kid, he pulled this game out, brand new, goes to customize and has those damn striped socks, I tried to get them after I got the game and never could, asked em how he got em, and he never even knew how he did That’s crazy dude

You could make an iceberg exclusively about things in the levels. There's a launched trashcan in the sanitorium, multiple underground benches (most well known one is in the art gallery), weird underground arrow textures in the art gallery, a location in art gallery that consistently crashes your game if you get there, a HUGE area of grass in the downtown district it's quite easy to get to, and a church near the memorial with secret, ominous sounding music. There's also 4 inside out poles, and inside out tree, and an inside out rock.

The fact the city is named after the famous dead skater is the cherry on top really showing their intentions to make their last skate game stand out

Videos like this are always cool to see since I I used to put so many hours and hours a day into skate 3 when I was younger. I have put well over 3k hours played in the game. It’s no contest my most played game on Xbox 360 😅. It’s without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time, and although I don’t play much anymore I still love it a lot.

My one problem with the death theory is that it seems odd that Reda wouldn't notice the skater dying. He seemed really concerned when they get hit by a bus in the first game. I would have thought he'd be more attentive if something happened to his favorite source of footage. Ah well. It's still a more fun explanation as to why Port Carverton felt so empty.

I remember putting a marker at the top of those cranes by meticulously parkouring my way up the cliff up onto the base of the crane and just repeatedly jump up toward the top since its too steep to walk on... This makes me want to go up there again and see if I can hop off and land anywhere.

Chris Parry aka 'Cuz' has said that when they were making the art gallery DLC he walked into the studio that was handling the map design and they were deleting textures and spots outside of the fenced area and he told them to stop. I think it was written in one of cuz's blogs towards the end of the game's life cycle.

Ok in terms of finding the location of the trick guide. Using the skybox the trick guide is located in an area between the mountains in the skybox and the skyscrapers in the skybox. Since the trick guide was out during the demo it’s probably outside of a non dlc map. It has to be outside one of the districts. I’m leaning towards university as the trick guide existed in in the demo and the university district was the only map in the demo. Or it’s also outside the skate school.

I agree with the death theory without even realizing it. Something about skate 3 just felt off compared to 1 & 2. Skate 3 had this empty life feeling, while 1 & 2 felt more alive. I dont know maybe thats just me. I love them all regardless tho

I think one of the more interesting facts is much of daly estates is vacant houses, maybe being a poke at the 2008 housing crisis that happened recently when the game was made.

You can go on top of basically any building in this game, if you can get up there of course. I used to use the glitch with the upside down quarter pipe to launch myself on top of the chann center and do the jump from the beginning of the game. I played this game wayyyy too much when I was a kid

I have played EVERY Skate game known to man... and NOTHING compares to the Skate Series. I love Tony Hawk for that Arcade Style Skate Game, but "Skate" had a Community and it was unmatched by any other game. I would love to see it come back. Huge Fan 🤟

OK so with the shoes, you could buy them online and when you receive them they would come with a code. Putting this code into one of the shoe code areas would unlock the shoes in game!Basically just marketing.
