Great video as always. The instrument cluster does use bulbs throughout and it's a delicate process to change them out. I had a couple fading and I changed them all out to LED's and they're still going strong.
The KnightDrive lights look amazing, and maybe it's just the sensitivity of the camera, but are they aimed up really high? Are they height adjustable? I don't want to blind others (even when they deserve it :p).
The lights look phenomenal. How much better (lighting wise ) are the sleepy eye headlights than the ACA headlights? I was thinking about going the ACA route in replacing my stock C5 headlights. Thanks in advance. Do you have a before and after or did I miss it in your video playlist?
Do you have a link to the resistor for the third brake light? I just installed mine from vette lights and I’m getting the service traction control light and circuit open code too!
I plan on doing the same mods for the brake/tail lights. Can you drop a link of resistor for the brake light and a quick write of of how to install it?
I just put led taillights and led 3rd brake light, I'm getting the traction control issue. Where'd you get that resistor and howd you install it... pleaseeee lol
If you install poly bushings then your ride quality will get effected and become harsh if you’re a street driver but if you track your car then it’ll be great.. just 2 cents from my side .. I have did the bushing upgrades and stick to the rubber as I want comfortable ride and I don’t track..
Have any cops tried pulling you over for the tail light with it being the laser strip only ? I know when the brake is on all of it lights up but after you let off it’s just the strip again figured maybe they be ass about it
I’m having the same service traction control ABS warning lights come on after my LED install. Can you tell me specifically what to do with the resistor, where it goes and what wires I need to attach it to? Is it the third brake light wires itself, or any of the four running lights? Thanks for the great informative video!
Sure no problem. You are going to attach it to the pig tail for the 3rd brake light (from the car). One clips to the red & one to the black. It's DC voltage so either wire can go on either resistor wire.
@@VetOnVettes appreciate you getting back to me. I figured that based on what you said in the video but it’s always better to ask a dumb question and give a dumb explanation of when you screw something up! I hear those things can get pretty hot. have you tested that out to see and if so, do you have a mounting solution to keep them from touching anything back there may be some double sided tape up against the trunk portion?
Your driver side light, inner mounting postiion, appears to be in the lower (incorrect) hole. This is shown in the video. It makes what appears to be an angle downward on the inside of the light. Your passenger looks correct, but your driver doesn't. Check it.
You were 100% correct. Got the replacement installed tonight and good to go. The original driver side inner most halo would work, but only after running the headlights for about 20 mins 🤷🏼♂️. I have no issue sending the parts I didn't use back. It may be something super simple to fix and still be able to use as inventory. Let me know. 👍👍
So I am a new C5 owner just picked up an 02 Z06. I love the head lights. But how to you adjust them to not open up so high as they do from the factory?
So there’s a hardware kit that comes with the Knight Drive TV headlights. The kit limits the height of the headlight, so as to give it the “sleepy eye” appearance. I highly recommend the kit btw.
wouldn't you have to put the resistor in parallel with your brake light to increase draw? I think you said in series. Oh nm I see what you meant. In line just made me think in series.
I just got my c5 a few moths ago. Haven't had it inspected. Do you think the headlight mod could be a problem? I love the half lift on the HL. I have seen other similar mods. Why did you pick this one?
Thanks for the video very informative... im looking for a set of stock wheels for my yellow 2002 Z06 any ideas where i can find them.. your car looks awesome...
Thanks man. I had a tough time sourcing additional 18"s for the front. I ended up buying the black replicas with the machined lip and painted them to my liking. It saved a ton trying to find alcoas or speed lines.
@@VetOnVettes the rear 18s fit ok on the front? My neighbor and I both have 03Z's and he has the stock wheels just sitting. I was considering getting his rears to put on my fronts but wasn't sure if there would be clearance issues... (hate trying to find matching tires for the 17s.....)
Dude, love your car and this channel. Just picked up an 02Z, gonna do just about everything you have done. Have you thought about doing trans/diff cooler? More for track use I guess.
I don't know if you'd want to do that if you weren't heavily tracking it. You want the trans/diff to run at normal operating temperature and if you have too much cooling and are just cruising around it may not actually be helping you.
Man I'm trying to think. I remember it was kind of a pain as it's hard to see & limited mobility. I'm pretty sure I used a super long extension on my screw gun & used self tapping metal screws to put in right in the composite tub.
@@VetOnVettes gotcha thanks , mine is suspended in mid air right now i didn’t want it touching anything lol I know it needs to be mounted to something metal to dissipate the heat. Your response is much appreciated .
When I put in my LED bulbs, I added a 50 ohm resistor and the lights went down without the extra step. I noticed that you upgraded from the ACA style headlights. Were they from Corvette Envy or from Sharp Light Innovations? I am looking to install the ACA headlights on my C5. Are your old set for sale?
