That Michael guy was a genius! Not only did he come clean about trying to scam you, but he took even more steps by pretending to be everyone else that you were supposedly messaging with and he still made money off you! Come on man! I really thought you were better than this! 🤣
Michael is obviously all three guys. The only thing you got wrong is : Ben is not stupid, he also knows that he's talking to the same person. I think at this point he just doesn't care, he's not into busting scammers but more into helping people. And he's okay about helping someone out as far as he gets enough content to make a youtube video. That's not only clever but also kind hearted. This is what makes this channel special.
Yeah, this guy very obviously played you big time. He knew exactly who you were from the moment he messaged you. This was his plan from the very start and Tunde and Segun were probably both him too.
Yeah I think for legitimacy purposes Pleasant green needs to stop focusing on scams that come to his public accounts. He needs to set up fake accounts so that he only gets scammers who are indiscriminately targeting him
I think next time you shouldn't ask the guy to leave there, him leaving will later make them think he's the one and those guys are damn brutal, lots are also cultist which might put the guy life in danger
They were all the same guy anyway. How do you think he knew Ben hadn't reached out the "other" scammers yet? That scammer was pretty slick tbh. I'm kind of surprised Ben fell for that!!
Possibly, but if they take this opportunity, they only have one shot of this. It's not like them to waste several hours and weeks even not knowing if they could get away with this or not. However, if they knew they could get away with $100, there's a big possibility, regardless of one or more persons involved.
@@ianpaulogonzaga4308 They knew their cover was already blown... A stupid scammer insists on not being a scammer, a smarter scammer tries to get your money with pity.
@@Mobin92 True. Although by the looks of things, I still believe in Ben and the good he does. It still lifts my spirit. However, it's difficult to reconcile how scam-baiters could also be scammed. Still it is a possibility, and a sad reality.
Scammer aren’t allowed to expose themselves like that which is why it’s hard to believe that this is a smarter type of scam when they aren’t supposed to reveal themselves like that knowing that death and torture is the what happens to those who get caught or exposed!!!
Ngl, I almost bursted out laughing when he said "I struggle to put on clothes." I just see an image of someone trying to put on a shirt and struggling, not being able to figure it out. 🤣
Have you figured out, yet, that there are many conditions that make it a struggle to put on clothes? From spinal injuries, to broken limbs, arthritis, degenerative neurological conditions, pulled muscles, slipped discs, scoliosis, medical conditions where one of the symptoms is chronic fatigue, including depression, and co-ordination disorders, such as dyspraxia, to cerebral palsy, etc. etc. Sure, there can be funny times ridiculously wrestling with clothing, but it is also very frustrating, and often painful. It's millions of people's daily reality. Not mine though. I can't even get out of my clothes. It's been months. Too sick and not enough home support. I don't recommend it.
@@daniellamcgee4251 That's not really something you figure out... I would definitely have a hard time not busting out laughing if someone said something as ridiculous as not being able to put on clothes due to depression though.
Kinda fun video here Ben. Just hope Michael is actually safe and that wasn't his real name. Course when Tunde can't find Michael, who isn't around anymore...seems suspicious...and I'm not a scammer. And if Segun was scamming Tunde...wouldn't he have run away? Things that make you go hmmm..... You're right about those passwords....definitely get a secure password manager and never use the same password for other things online.
@@journeyoflovelight note: U must actually put it on notepad cuz u won't have anything to tell u ur password otherwise Edit: but in a paper note it's better, so it can't be hacked
You know I watched this channel because I enjoy busting scammers and scam rings, and even when others do it. But it's also a good reminder of how desperate some are behind the scenes. Granted most are just dbags, but sometimes there's that chance it's some desperate schmuck gooned in to it out of desperation. That's our chance at scambaiters to make a difference, one of the ultimate goals of scambaiting. Life is so much better when your not stealing from others!
Yeah I think he stretched it a bit here with that guys safety. It would be so easy for them to figure out who that is if any of them ever saw this video.
The only thing better than watching this video would be watching a video of Tunde and Segun fighting it out after Tunde found out that Segun "snitched" on him.
The "Michael" guy probably runs all the accounts and sent you fake pictures of the house and adress so he would look like he was working for u. So basically he scammed you 100 dollars
Thinking about it... immediately ben said he was a scammer he gave up easily and started taking about school fees and parents being dead and asking for help. I think this guy just scammed ben
I have always respected Ben's approach to dealing with scammers, but in this case, I'm seriously shocked at how he threw Segun under the bus. Michael said the kid was 16, probably just as desperate and lost as Michael. Poor kid is probably rotting in a ditch somewhere...not cool.
I feel the same way. I can't understand the people commenting this video made them feel good because all it did was worrying me about seguns and michaels life
If it makes you feel any better, I think Ben got scammed and Tunde and Segun are either fake or in on the scam. If Ben did believe "Michael's" story, yeah, throwing "Segun" under the bus like that was a crappy thing to do.
I reported this video. I am shocked by what I just watch. The fact that Ben blocked him right after he said "Segun is finished", a 16 year old, is just appalling.
When the scammer said "You don't even know my house address", that should have been an Aha! moment for you where you realized that all the characters were the same person. He handed that one to you on a platter, because he (as Michael) had just given you the house photo a few minutes earlier
One of the greatest rewards in life is to be able to make a living on your own talent and to be proud of what you've done. this is definitely a success story.
I don’t think rewarding a scammer with money for helping to take down a scam operation is the wisest idea. It just reinforces the new strategy that he can use a sob story to still get money from people.
I'm sure pleasant green is smart enough to not post the original pictures. He might have posted some random African houses and persons pictures he found on the Google images
Honestly these vids just make me trust any Nigerians at all. And if he does get in danger from this, one good act doesn't protect you. Life lessons be hard and all that did was make them relocate if you watched any scam busting videos. Call a pig a pig, adding make up doesn't change it.
Try to keep in contact with him, he seems like a very good guy who just got caught in the wrong group. And Michael if yours seeing this, hope your doing great!
Dear Michael, there's a lot of respect for you my man. You're such a hero not because you were scamming but because you were honest. And honesty is the best policy. I wish so much luck for your future ambitions and I wish you become a really successful doctor and I believe you'll help all those in need. Much love❤
Now, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for them all to be the same person, but I don’t think that saying that the similar writing styles or using emojis is great evidence. We all practice speak fluent English and are constantly around people who speak fluent English, so we learn how it goes and how it should sound. In Nigeria, though, I expect that (especially in poorer areas), they learn english, but it’s a certain style of english. It’s not American or British english, it’s a slightly less correct version of english because they just bounce off of each other and say what each other say. Emojis could just be common use over there, I wouldn’t know, or they could be an attempt to seem more American, as we use emojis fairly often. Also, I really find it quite hard to believe that one scammer would go through all of that not knowing what reward (if any) they might get, and I find it especially hard to believe since there aren’t very many people they would be able to do this scam on. It wouldn’t be a very profitable scam if it took all the effort of a normal scam, but targeted only a few people who might only give them a fifth of what they could receive by doing a more widespread scam on normal people. Again, I’m not saying it’s impossible that it could all be one person playing all the roles, and I’m really no expert on Nigerian life, so I could be totally wrong about some of the things I said. Based even solely on the non-profitability of the scam, however, I would bet that it’s _probably_ not a scam.
@@Dude-dx5ns the only thing I really said about Nigeria is that poorer areas have a different dialect… and this was confirmed to me by google at the time… so I don’t get what you mean… Also, since watching the follow up video that presented missing context, my opinions have somewhat changed.
This is the scam my mother in law fell for last year. If I knew this she was talking to her “friend” on Facebook I’d have understood it sooner. We tried to warn her, but she still spent $1000 on gift cards 🤦🏻♀️
I have been battling with the same issue too I contacted Instagram customer service multiple times and got nothing I almost got depressed and then a good friend of mine referred me to the genius called *RETON CODING* who was able to help me to get back all I have lost
Oh shit, can you link me to your evidence and proof? Even if it was all a big scam, he gave them $100 and has probably doubled that 10 times over from this 1 video
I wasn't surprised that he was nigerian, and at first, I thought the whole story Michael gave about his mum and getting kicked out of school was just that. A sob story to try and scam someone into giving him their hard earned money, but who would have thought it was true. I honestly didn't see that coming. I hope that he makes something of his life.
You know, I kind of think that knowing how these individuals succeed over time as a positive influence on their communities would be a better reality show than "BIG BROTHER," "SURVIVOR" or any of the other current reality TV shows. Iron Chef excluded. And maybe some of Chef Ramsay's shows.
How the messages went between the boss and stuff, it all seems to me like together as a group they took you for a ride. I think in the end the scam worked in a way because they got some money outta you. I don't know, it almost lined up too perfectly "I think someone has betrayed me!" , what a coincidence Michael just gave you the name of his colleague. "You don't have my address at least!" oh what a coincidence Michael sent you his address so you can gotchya at him again. I don't know, maybe it's just perfect karma but to me it seems almost too well played out to be true.
I was thinking the same thing, this is similar in multiple videos of his. I lowkey think alot of videos are fake but they are entertaining so i watch anyway
Micheal proud of you, you need to keep your head up bud you did a great job and I pray for your safety everyday and ill pray for your success. May God be strong with you and i know your mother is happy and proud of you!
You know Segun could get really hurt, right? I'm really scared for the child... He won't have anywhere to go. He probably doesn't live with his parents anymore. He's just 16, geez. They could really have him killed🙁
I have been to many of the countries and cities associated with scamming. The people hate it generally and not because of how much a scammer could make. It's because of the shame and loss of travel they bring to the community and country. YES often the scammers can pull down far more than a hard worker. So wrong in so many ways
Hey Michael, if you’re reading this I just hope that your life is getting better, and that you’re doing what you love, I know it’s been a year, but just in case.
This dude definitely knew about you and targeted you to try and get some money. I kinda like it more when they’re random but it’s kinda hard when everyone knows about you now
That's what I was thinking. How do we know the first guy wasn't all the guys and just acting like multiple people. Sending a random picture of a house and person. He knows the names her knows what there pictures are so he knows to act defensive...... The whole chat with the "bigger scammer" seemed too open, almost setting up being sent the house photo by saying you're not in Nigeria. I think this was a special scam just for Ben
I have a feeling that Michael, Tunde, Segan and Mrs Pennie are all the same person. With all your videos helping scammers who came clean, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them purposefully try to bump into you. But either way, you're doing great work and helping a lot of people 👍
yes and the pictures are of some random room, dude and house. All these scammers seem to have a similar writing style. Also Michael wouldn't risk his life messing with "rich" nigerian scammers for a $100
Certain things do not add up to that what-if scenario. that Is showing photos - While anyone could get faces from let's say thispersondoesntexist. It would take great work to put the face into a candid photo that is suggested in the blurry images shown. And most scammers would not stop with $100 - they'd run the con till you'd never send them a cent again $100 would be the appetizer. Scammers of this nature are never happy with $100.
I'm so proud of Michael, he gathered the courage to go straight, even though the money from scamming can be very lucrative. I hope he does well in school and can help those in his community. I hope he's safe and doing well.
You know these emotional scammers who switch modes are the best scammers of all. They weaponize your decency and empathy. It's nice you show them other ways of making money.
You could have said that your daughter was kidnapped and told him "If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you" and I bet that he would have just said "Are you prepared for Walmart" 🤣
Assuming that the "boss man" wasn't actually a fall back scam and that "boss" was just some random dude on Facebook where as the original scammer was the only scammer and he pretended to help rat on someone where in reality he just took photos from facebook like creating the fake accounts, and then took a picture of a random house a few blocks away from his day job. There is a real possibility that this "rat" actually just played the scambater doing a scam that he knew he could get at least some money out of because some money is better then no money. Things played out way too... shall we say smoothly to not be suspicious of a veteran scammer who has learned how to scam the scambaiters.
Michael, if you read this: I am proud of your decision to leave scamming! A lot of good things to you! And to you "Pleasant Green": you are great! You chose to help and not to look away
@@futsuu and that $ is really earned, in the end, from his viewers. so in a sense, we (or at least people who do business via his sponers/ads) were the real scam victims lol. he needs to ensure he's really sticking it to scammers and not vice versa.
New scam in Nigeria: Step 1: Try to scam Ben. Step 2: Tell Ben you are a scammer. Step 3: Get sympathy from Ben and tell him fake secrets of the trade. Step 4: Ben pays you. MISSION COMPLETE. LOL!
The Scammer had gathered info on Ben and predicted everyrhing Ben would do in multiple situations. Then worked out a scenario that would convince Ben he was legitimate and give a decent possibility of receiving a small amount of money. The scammer is very successful and didn't need the money, but wanted to prove to the rest of the scammers he was numero Uno 🤑 Or maybe I'm being paranoid and it was all genuine 🤔🤔
As heartwarming as all of this is, I'm worried for Michael's safety here. Because they're certain to go back and analyze the situation, and might realize that Michael was absent at the moment the whole thing blew open, but no one else was. I hope he's safe.
@E.T. Phone Home Penny Jarvis said " Someone might have snitched on me" and "you don't even know my house address" at the perfect times, like he knew Ben had a picture of him. Also, his "mom" he tributed to wasn't really his mom. Mr Ben contacted a woman that called her "Mom" assuming that she was micheal's sister. She said she didn't have a sister named Micheal, showing that the tribute he made was fake, and his "Mother" is alive. Micheal also had an app called DualSpace, which allows you to clone apps, so he was on the "micheal" and "tom" account on 1 device showing that "Micheal" and "Tom" were the same person.
Even if that is the case it was worth $100 alone for the entertainment and the video that stemmed from it. PG easily made the money back by making a video on it.
